1. Non-Alignment Phase (1947-1962):

- India sought to maintain a neutral stance during the Cold War and avoided allying with either the United States or the Soviet Union.
- This phase came to an end with the Sino-Indian War of 1962, which led to a shift in India's foreign policy.
2. Shifting Alliances Phase (1962-1971):
- The 1962 war with China prompted India to strengthen its relationship with the Soviet Union, leading to the signing of the Indo-Soviet Treaty of Peace, Friendship, and Cooperation in 1971.
- This phase witnessed India's decisive victory against Pakistan in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, resulting in the creation of Bangladesh.
3. Consolidation and Reassertion Phase (1971-1991):
- This phase saw India consolidating its position as a regional power and asserting its influence in South Asia.
- The nuclear tests conducted by India in 1974 marked a significant event during this phase.
- India also played a crucial role in the establishment of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in 1985.
- This phase ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
4. Post-Cold War Phase (1991-2008):
- With the end of the Cold War, India embarked on a new phase of foreign policy, marked by economic liberalization and increased engagement with the global community.
- The establishment of the Look East Policy in the early 1990s aimed to strengthen ties with Southeast Asian countries.
- The Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998 further reinforced India's position as a nuclear power.
- This phase witnessed improved relations with the United States and other Western countries.
5. Assertive and Multi-Alignment Phase (2008-present):
- The 2008 Mumbai terror attacks marked a significant event that led to a more assertive foreign policy stance by India.
- India has actively pursued strategic partnerships with multiple countries, such as the United States, Russia, Japan, and others, in a multi-alignment approach.
- The "Act East Policy" replaced the earlier "Look East Policy," signifying India's increased focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
- India's involvement in regional and global forums, such as BRICS and the G20, has grown significantly during this phase.

Sirf ek interview..... Before taking the main interview from the UPSC Board members, we go for Mock test interview to prepare ourselves..we can go as many as we can.... Because mock test interview helped us a lot while preparing.....

Worst performance by Tamil Nadu as it Did Not made it to Top 10 UPSC AIR 2023, even top 30. The only TN topper is AIR 41 and that took in his last 6th attempt... Totally shame to entire Tamil people and Tamil Nadu. Many rumors spread Biharis and UP gets the UPSC questions and also answers paper of all set and UPSC panel first importance is for UP and Bihar and last selection is from TN. Even Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Andaman, Lakshadweep, Daman Dai, Ladak etc. are above Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu will be be slave to Vadakkans and India forever and be extinct completely in future despite Highest revenue generator and highest taxes, duties, debts and dues payer to India and pays dues and debts of other states also...
Firstly I would like to mention that Tamil Nadu is also a part of India don't be bias in your words....and as far as the bihar and up people are considered don't point the reputative selection process of upsc that they get questions.....it could happen for small level exams but not in upsc.... everyone's hardwork gives them results accordingly.. ias be from any state but works for the betterment of the entire country.... no doubt tamilnadu has contributed to the county in the last few decades it shall be understood that people built the clear exams irrespective of the state .....
