I always like the Kremlings but I fell in love with the Kritters when they appeared or returned as goalkeepers in Mario Strikers Charged. All he does is to keep the Goal clear with everything possible by him and when some main character uses his/her charge shot he fearlessly looks at all the balls comming trying to hold them all, making him the most badass goalkeeper in gaming history for me.
I swear it said something in Super Mario Strikers (the original, not Charged) that the Kremlings/Kritters in the goal were actually robots and not real ones...
When I got strikers charged it didn't really interest me much it's fun for sure but it was a lil hard to get into for a long time. I always thought the critters was vector tho mainly because I haven't played DKC yet

I love the kritters, i even name my totodile kritter
I don't know why, but Kritter has become my favorite video game character of all time, despite him just being a generic enemy. Probably because he's a buff, walking crocodile.
I'd love for him to be playable in a fighting game. I'd willingly pay for that twice over.

You probably already know this, but I got news for you about the switch port...
Krunch is probably _the_ only other good, non-evil Kremling besides K. Lumsey in Donkey Kong (and related) video games.

Krunch isn’t really “good” or “non-evil”. He’s only around to keep an eye on Diddy so he isn’t planing anything against the Kremlings.
I always thought these guys were pretty cool, because.... well you can't go wrong with an army of alligator dudes. I really do hope they return in a future DKC type game.
It'd be interesting to see the Tikis AND the K. Rool army as enemy forces combined. could have masked Kremlings and stuff, King K. Rool could have his ship secretly be a giant Tiki. Something cool.
I'm not gonna lie, the Tikis from "Donkey Kong Country Returns" were kinda lame for an enemy, especially since all they did was possess animal characters who acted as bosses, and I actually preferred the Snowmads in the sequel a lot more.
Because king k Rool is announced for smash, I’m really hoping the kremlings are in the next dk game

I have a suggestion. Since you guys are doing basic goomba-like enemies for these first episodes, what about the Waddle Dees from Kirby?

Yeah, but it's just a reference in a minigame.
There are some references to the anime in the games, but they're not part of the game' s canon. They're just easter eggs for the fans.

The brown Kritters that jumped back and fourth were actually tan so that they can be easy to tell apart from the ones that jumped in place.
Am I the only one who really misses Chunky Kong? He has yet to appear in anything since Donkey Kong 64, besides a trophy in Smash Bros.
I liked Tiny too. Also, K. Rool lost his tail after 64 for some reason.

Anyone else ready for a 3DS remake of Donkey Kong 64? Honestly. I've never played that game but I heard that it is a very good one. And since we get Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask for 3DS, why not a 3rd N64 title because it seems to work.
Hella yeah but hopefully its not on the new 3ds because I haven't got around to buying it yet.

Henry The Dark Mage I hope so too. But since you needed a RAM expansion for the original... If they remake there's a slightly higher chance for New 3DS because of that historic reason...

God, this is sure a blast from the past. 2015 wasn't that long ago, but looking back, everything felt so...different, yet not so different at the same time.
I like this series! I'm glad it's finally continuing!
Yeah, we need a donkey kong country game where the kremlings and King k. rool are the enemies. Tikis and arctic baddies aren't enough
Even though I am not a fan of the Kritters, Kremlings and so on that video was awesome! I always love to know everything about a simple fact in gaming.
Personaly I would love to see the Snowmads get a chance of becoming the new enemies for Donkey Kong. I loved them in Tropical Freeze and I think there is a lot more potential in them.
There were actually 5 types of Kritters in DKC. Green which just walked forward, Brown which jumped in place, Blue which constantly jumped forward, Black/Grey which were like a green/blue combo alternating between walking and jumping, and yellow which jumped back and forth between two points (and had red armor instead of gold for obvious reasons). Amusingly the yellow ones didn't make it in to the cast parade at the end of the game, just the other four.
For all of those who are donkey kong country fans, well i took a deep look into which Kremlings were kritters that began in the first game, here is the list. they are all confirmed as whats called Kremling Kritter (K.Rools common lackeys)
- DKC -
1- Kritter (light blueish green Kremling with a gold chest plate, they patrol, usually in pairs)
2- Jumping Kritter (same model but blue, they continuously Jump at you in a one a direction)
3- Red Kritter (same model but its purple/red color, these stand in one spot and jump up on surprise)
4- Krazy Kritter (same model again just this time yellow, they jump from side to side back and forth ledges)
5- Kremkroc Kritter (same model as the other 4, the color though is a grayish, they walk a straight path, periodically jumping up to catch you off guard)
6- Krash- (same as a regular kritter but rides in a mine cart, they ride on the opposite side of the rails in attempt to knock you out, basically playing hogs of the ride)
DKC2 -
6- Klomp (a green scarred up Kremling, with one peg leg, decor of pirate, simply patrols also like there brethren they too like to patrol in pairs)
7- Kaboing (a purple/gray scarred up Kremling, with 2 peg legs, decor of pirate, Bounces up high as it travels in a set direction jumping non stop)
8- Killer Kaboing (light green, almost light blue scarred up Kremling, same model as the regular Kaboing, jumps extremely high and stands idle on high ledges waiting to surprise jump you, be careful with these guys, if anything they are the most cunning of the kritters, PS they can jump even higher than Rattly, excluding the charged jump)
DKC3-
9- Kobble ( a dark green Kremling, very athletic build, no fancy cloths, they merely patrol back and forth just like Klomps and Kritters, somteimes in pairs)
10- Skidda (a purple Kremling, that is the exact model as Kobble, difference being they skid in a back and forth rotation, and only appear in snow levels making it slippery therefor they are more prone to skid into you, or you into them)
11- Re-Koil ( a Kremling of a orange and yellow mix, taking the place of Kaboings and jumping Kritters, though these can jump at various heights some higher than others, the patterns to which they choose to jump is random depending on the level, either up and down, or side to side)

Donkey kong always deserve some attention, its one of the best video game series of all time!

I wanna see a third DKC Returns...but now this time with K.Rool, the story may work as the Kremking as the true mastermind of the Tiki awakening and the Snowmads Invasion... so it would make sense.

I don't really get why some people dislike the new DKC games because the Kremlins are absent. I actually liked the Snowmads much more, they were so original.

Kritters: Don’t make a return alongside him, not even as goalkeepers in Mario Strikers Battle League.
They could have made purple poisonous, you would have had to use animal buddies to take them out.
Ah the "blue" Kritters....... THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE in Donkey Kong Country 1.
They may very well be the enemies that I died to the most in that game. lol
I still remember the first time I played smash run and saw them. I literally freaked out cause I thought Nintendo was gonna replace them but now that k rool is in smash there’s no replacement
Dixie Kong should have been in smash bros Wii-U Shes not a clone of Diddy at all.
I love the kritters/kremling and would love another Dk game featuring them, but hey Dk enemies are all cool old and new.
I can see why there are so little episodes in this series, it looks like a pain to make, but I do enjoy these video's, but I don't want poor Derrick to spend all of his time doing these, great video though!
From what I heard, Kremlings were copyrighted to someone and Nintendo was unable to use them in the newer DK games which I think is a little silly. They are like Goombas and Koopa Troopas to Mario games, it works
Actually it turns out Nintendo *do* in fact hold the rights to the Kremlings, making it seem a bit more odd that they have been relegated to the occasional cameo.

Microsoft now hold the rights to Rare who held Rights to some of the Donkey Kong IP's
I think klomps have scars because of possible pirate swordfighting with other klomps. It would fit the pirate theme quite a bit.
Roc Kroc is perhaps the most formidable Kremling....
Those Krashes were a pain in the ass... can't count how many timed they screwed me over in Minecart Carnage.

I read a lot of this on the Mario Wiki, but hearing you make a video of it was great. I hope the the Kremlings make a proper comeback, and Kritter can go back to his basic grunt role! :)
I had the GBA version of this game first, actually! And I thought the blue Kritters were originally Krushas and the brown ones Rockkrocs at first. (I knew their names because of the little booklet that came in the box). Only when I got to Monkey Mines did I realize that they weren't, haha! Just different versions of Kritters, haha!

Would like to see a Kritter (as well as King K. Rool) return as playable characters in Mario Kart.
My guess for their personal vehicles for a Mario Kart game: K. Rool’s vehicle will be an ATV that looks like a pirate ship, while Kritter’s will be a motorcycle with a crocodile’s head.

I like this, have you guys done the mets from Megaman yet or was that a previous video. Another interesting henchemen I'd like to see is either Stalchidren or Deku Scrubs, or river zoras.
