I'm a bit late to the party, but this is very insightful - as when first encountering the concept of data meshes, the idea of decentralizing data ownership, seems antithetical to lakehouses from a purely technical standpoint. We engineers often don't immediately think of the holistic, organization benefits of decentralization and miss that organizational decentralized data ownership can happen without actually decentralizing the underlying technical implementation and storage of data.
