THIS EPISODE SOOOO RESONATED WITH ME!!💝 My mother passed away July 31, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic awaiting a double lung transplant. We are a family of believers and we played Christian music everyday all day for my mommy. I believe this brought her much comfort during her transition. Both my sister and I were with her - each sitting on either side of her hospital bed when she passed away. It was for me such a blessing to be able to witness her transition. The last song that we played was "It's Not Over" by Israel & New Breed. My sister and I both kissed her on the cheek and forhead and reassured her that it was "OK" for her to leave- that we were "OK". It was not too long after that moment that she transitioned. God has been faithful throughout this process! We prayed for complete healing and He granted that- just not on this side of heaven! The best gift I received from my mother was her telling me that I was the best daughter! I knew that although it wasn't true, it was true for her! I also knew that she felt that way about my sister and I and she knew I needed to hear that (being a word person - words matter💝) Thank you for sharing! 😘💜💜💜

The journey of self discovery is necessary. This episode revealed more of why I had to heal to be ready for my future spouse. God is so intentional even in the midst of our confusion. Trust the process. So glad I finally surrendered all to God. He ever amazes me and HE truly speaks and reveals himself in time.

It was a great conversation and how she looks at being in a marriage is EXACTLY how I view being a “WIFE and HUSBAND ”. It was refreshing to hear someone else thinking along the same lines. Like she said the easy part is easy, what about the more challenging times!? Keep the great conversations coming!

Rochelle is my youngest daughter's name, so I liked her form reading the title.😊 But seriously, this was a very touching interview. My mom passed away in 2015 and I wish I was there to see her take her final breath. Two of my sisters were there with her and they said she went away very peacefully. She is so sweet, but you can tell she is not the one to mess with. She really gave me food for thought. Are you ready to say I do to the real issues of life like sickness? There's a lot behind being a wife and saying I do. Deep!! I never understood people's obsession with that other guy.🤔SMH! Really made no sense to me. But Laterras, great start to the season. Looking forward to the rest of the season! And don't grow weary in waiting. You will meet her at the appointed time! ❤

Wow she is a wife! Ironically, she was thrown off a platform and torn down for being a problematic woman. But inside she is a jewel.
The care she demonstrated towards her father is supernatural. Her maturity, nurturing ability, spiritual foresight and forgiving nature all point to someone that would make an excellent partner. She demonstrated the characteristics of what every man should want.
But sometimes the world does not know or value you because it does not know Him. Rochelle, you are literally a jewel, hidden, so don’t allow anything to come against your value. “Many daughters have done nobly, but you excel them all.” Proverbs 31:29.
Your husband will be blessed to have you.

This episode is light and refreshing. I really enjoyed the conversation. I was able to connect with the "who," rather than the "do" in terms of marriage. Here's what I mean: One day I was driving after my spouse left me and I suddenly felt so marriaged and like a wife. This is when the Lord revealed to me that wife is who you are. Perhaps this is the reason behind the scripture Proverbs 18:22. He never finds a girlfriend, friends with "benefits", but a wife. Ladies, a piece of paper, nor a man will make us a wife. It's the Lord working in us and through us that calls us to this role. There should be a seemless transition when he finds me bc Im already operating under the annointing wife. Thank you LRW ❤❤❤!

Man, this one hit home! My dad passed in January 2022 and to hear Rochelle speak about her father’s transition was incredibly moving. It literally took me back. I identified with so many parts of her story. I, too, came to a greater understanding of what it means to serve as a partner and a daughter through caring for my father as he was transitioning. God is so sovereign! To see how He’s working - molding and shaping us - even in the midst of devastating circumstances. He can literally give you peace in the midst of pain. What a God we serve 🙌🏾

I have had that elderly care talk with my parents and my Mother go so mad because I said there is a certain way I want to care for them as they age, but I won't see them undressed. Their are good people that will lovingly do that (bathe, etc) and pray God blesses me and my siblings to be able to have that for them if needed. I love them dearly, Mama is 76 and Daddy is 80 now and they are well, married 57 yrs and doing what they want freely in retirement. God bless you both for this vlog. Her perspective on marriage, mothering, and just her overall understanding of her fathers transition is deep. We as society sometimes think of such surface level details, when marriage and being a wife or husband requires so much maturity and wisdom that many people have not even considered. She is aware of the intricacies of what it takes to be a selfless, truly loving wife, daughter, friend, sister, etc. and she translated that well. Also I so get her need for desiring deeper connections as well and the moment you wanna be with the same mundane conversation it’s an easy “block for life.” Wishing her all the love her heart desires!

Wow! 😭😭😭. Rochelle just tugged massively on my heart as no one has done in 5 months.
I can relate to her story on losing a parent. My beloved mummy passed and went to be with the Lord 5 months ago. She was in a nursing home during the pandemic and lockdown. I prayed that she will not have covid and she didn't even though others around her did and passed away. I will travel to visit mum (l lived in a different city from her and the rest of my family)
at the nursing home to feed her, clip her finger and toenails. Bathe her, moisturise her skin, oil hair scalp and of course pray with and for her.
I truly believed she would recover from dementia and stroke. Then she lost the ability to communicate verbally. That was so painful but l still trusted and believed God.
My mum loved her food and generally had a healthy appetite, so l was hopeful.
On the morning of the 8th of Jan 2022. I finished prayer meeting with my church via zoom but on that day l cried out to God telling him that l felt like a motherless daughter.
I hadn't done any mother and daughter activities or gone to any events in 21yrs with her due to her condition....she was bed bound.
The last 21yrs was spent in hospitals, some years at home but incapacited and the last 5 yrs in a nursing home.
My mummy suffered the first stroke 21years ago.
She did defy all medical odds. Which made me still stand and believe for a miracle of total recovery.
On that fateful morning (the 8th of January 2022) the Lord took me to the scriptures which Rochelle mentioned in Jeremiah 30:17
Which says "I will restore health to you...". I stopped crying and trusted that the Lord has confirmed his word for physical healing of mum on earth. Didn't realise that 7hrs later that my mummy would go and be with her heavenly father. So when Rochelle shared her story about her dad that confirmed what l knew when mummy passed that healing was complete to be with father God. Is blesses me that someone else in a different continent shares the same experience.
Our Lord brings peace and hope in different forms.
    Praise God.
    Once again many thanks Laterras❤️🙏🏽

I absolutely understand the walk of a father transitioning to our Heavenly Father. Especially me being a daddy’s girl. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of my daddy and it’s be 21 years. No matter what take your time and grief the way you need to and remember God healed your daddy the best way he could by taking him from this earth. I’m praying for you and your beautiful spirit.

It’s a wonderful thing to have a close relationship with your earthly father as well as our Heavenly Father. Both relationships are extremely important for our personal growth, mental health and love ❤️ life with ourselves and with others.

It's 2024 now. This took me back to how tragic and traumatizing the pandemic was. Especially before we had vaccines. This woman really understands what marriage is all about.

This conversation prompted the Bible Verse 1 John 5:7-9 KJV, specifically verse 8...there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
When Rochelle talked about her father going through a spiritual cleaning and Laterras stating that she kept record, this verse popped in my mind. She mentioned 1. the cleaning of her father's (blood) through ECMO, 2. Putting ear pods in her father's ear and playing (water) sounds to subdue the external family grieving and 3. her father going from a state of fear to a state of peace (The Spirit) at his time of passing.
Her story truly illustrated this verse. I pray that her father is resting in peace and that she continues to seek God to unfold her life and future endeavors to her.
I really appreciated her perspective on the questions she answered. Soooo good!!!! ❤️

I loved listening to Rochelle and her journey and story. I hope Rochelle finds an amazing man and God places him in her path when she's ready. She made an excellent point many people forget about. When you say yes to your purpose partner and his/her family members as well. People forget you receive a family, you receive a gift, you receive your emergency contact person for life. People forget the real challenges we go through when they become united. I am grateful to God that I have waited longer to get married and have children because no one really pays attention to the entirety and seriousness of what you will embrace as a married couple. Sometimes timing is best. You need to develop more maturity, how to prioritize, how to find balance, and know if you truly are ready for that challenge. Some people should wait until you are mature enough and grown to understand all of the life decisions good, bad, fun, difficult, and even when you compromise. Rochelle made an excellent points with Laterras. I am glad she shared this on Dear Future Wifey. #DearFutureWifeyPodcast💙👨🏾‍🦲🎤🎙#StayLit

2.) Block email? (Adding to my repertoire) Lol
    3.) Blocked 4 Life… Can someone put that on a T-shirt?
I just lost my Grandma the Tuesday before Easter Sunday. I was there for the ICU hallucinations. As a nurse, it broke me. I knew she was going to leave this side of eternity a week before my family. I’m glad I was there for her last lucid day. But it broke me for sure. I think even more so because she wasn’t a true believer and I wrestled with God the entire year about how to witness to her. He told me how, but I didn’t listen. Blessings and condolences to you and your family. Transitions are beautiful and hard.

I won’t speak of the individual that you’re talking about but I didn’t care for him at all. I’m glad you are empowering women that he’s torn down. I never understood why he was so cruel to black women. Perhaps he had some childhood trauma that made him feel that way.

WOW!! SHE WAS REFRESHING AND VERY INSPRIRATIONAL BY SHARING HER WALK THROUGH HER FATHERS TRANSITION INTO THE ARMS OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. I'VE BEEN MARRIED ALMOST 31 YEARS AND HER TAKE ON WHETHER SHE IS READY TO BE A WIFE WAS AWESOME. BELIEVE ME, YOU WILL HIT BOTH SIDES OF THE THE MARRIAGE VOWS IN SOME FORM OR FASHION. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE NEWLYWEDS, AT THE 7 YEAR ITCH, OR BLESSED TO SEE THE GOLDEN YEARS. THE DAY WILL COME WHEN YOU WILL HAVE TO DECIDE TO HONOR GOD BY KEEPING YOUR VOWS OR WALK AWAY(SOMETIMES THAT IS NECESSARY). THE BLESSINGS OF RESTORATION THROUGH CHRIST, IS EVEN WHEN YOU BREAK THE VOWS, GOD IS ABLE TO RESTORE YOUR MARRIAGE IF YOU ARE WILLING TO REPENT, FORGIVE AND DO THE WORK WITHIN YOURSELVES AND TOGETHER AS ONE. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING IT "LIT" ROCHELL RITCHIE AND AS ALWAYS LATERRAS.

As a non-American, I always wonder why anyone in the states can be married. Different than overseas, you got plenty of options to choose from.
