Regarding VIX at 65, it wasn't real move during cash session, but huge margin call on illiquid premarket BID ASK spread. Compare VIX to VOLI ( SPY volatility, not SPX), it went 36 only during cash. That 65 move should not be compared to 2008 or 2020 VIX spikes, it was a fluke, thats why it went down in straight line.

I noticed a potential setup today on spy. A pull back to the gap up at 548ish would be a logical strong support from big money gap protection.

market will be fine. People need to chill out a bit and wait. We are going to see volatility and a bunch of market broadening happen. Its quite possible that will result in additional dips here and there, but the market is quite likely to be up a decent amount by year end. Some sectors wont be but the market as a whole isnt about to drop off a cliff. For it to drop off a cliff people need to sell, put their money elsewhere and pray they can get back in before the next run up. Right now there is still a lot of money on the sidelines that can enter this market. Exiting this market just crowds that money and drives down yields even further. I'm not saying it will take off like a rocket. It might do that, but I do think it will grind upwards more than down for the rest of the year. The major factor is that the recession call went on for how many years now? All those stocks that got beaten down bottomed and its hard to see the shareholders selling at this point without the market going up a decent amount. The appearance of selling can happen while people short the market, but that can only go on for so long. So just relax and wait. You dont have to toss more money into the market. You dont have to sell. You just need to wait this out. If you are still tech heavy you might get burned in the short term because tech will likely plunge at some point when a bunch of people exit those positions for the wider market. But please dont panic sell. Thoughtfully sell and thoughtfully buy. Ignore the sky is falling crowd and ignore the too the moon crowd. They are both highly likely to be wrong.

Your looking at the 8 days but those guys are still anticipating a 20%+ decline at some point in the near future. If it doesnt materialize and the market gets those rate cuts it will become a situation where they will start moving money rapidly.
