MAZES is an amazing read. It is a great game. While it looks simple, there is a depth to how all the pieces fit together. In RPG mechanics, it is a swiss watch in construction. GREAT GAME. Thank you Chris and 9th Level Games team. I am excited to run a game. I can see myself using this system for all my games. It would be great for running most of my games.
I backed Mazes. It is a great read! But what I am missing so far regarding the actual plays with Mazes is the sword & sorcery vibe that is summoned in the book. This one too feels like an everyday dark fantasy dungeon. Where is the dashing Lankhmar/Conan/general old-school sword an sorcery action. Where is the sword & sorcery magic where it is explained how this works in-game, how to envision it with the Mazes magic system. So far I haven´t seen anything like it in the actual plays and that is a pitty! I would really like to see such a thing with Mazes.
That feel is hard to replicate on stream - the magic really requires that you have read things. Great piece of feedback though, and we will keep it in mind for our future APs. Thanks@!
