Something I thought of. The wounded eagle has two meanings.
1) Ezio is the wounded eagle because...well he’s wounded.
2) The Roman/Byzantines used eagles as symbols of their empire. This game takes place after that empire has fallen. So the Byzantine remnants are a wounded eagle.

As a Turk, I love this music have Turkish Ottoman and ex Byzantine and Roman Empire traces in one.
Fun fact: Fatih Sultan Mehmet (Fatih the 2nd) call Ottoman Empire also Roman Empire. 2) Yavuz Sultan Selim (Selim the 2nd) conquered Jerusalem and bring the Caliphate. After Selim the 2nd bring the Caliphate, Ottoman Sultans also had Caliph role.

Jay Walker It's more of to match the charisma and charm Ezio had with Lutes & Guitars. He was wounded during this mission so they made a fast paced epic soundtrack to fit with it I'm assuming. Not to mention as you know the eagle is the icon of AC pretty much or at least one of them

@Nazib Khan No, that's a different track. "The Wounded Eagle" is the sequence's title, but the music has nothing to do with it. I guess it's an image song, unused.
