I actually quite like the eyeshadow palette as I have fair skin and sometimes struggle with shades being too high contrast. But I wish they had made a second palette with darker or more saturated tones because I know it’s probably not the vibe for deeper skin tones.
I would love to see a BYOP with your interpretation of Alice in Wonderland because I agree this palette does not remind me of the film. You always make such exciting color stories!
I honestly thought that the palette was cute and colorful - didn't expect the mattes to be as pastel and sheer as they ended up being. Thanks for saving my coin~
I think the color story is a perfect match. There are deep and saturated metallics, for Cheshire cat, forest, caterpillar, queen, etc. The pastels are Alice herself and the tea party. You can almost see every reference. Alice in Wonderland is a coming-of-age story so I think they did great representing that.
I was so tempted by the colour story of the eyeshadow palette yesterday -- they were all shades I could see myself using. Turns out I own and use these shades, so of course I could see myself using them! 😂 While the palette is right up my alley, I already have it, so it's a pass for me.
When I saw swatches of the eyeshadow palette I immediately thought of Aurora Struck. I've been waiting for that to come back in stock and I'll continue to wait because the quality seems much better and you get more shadows too.
Alice in Wonderland is my favorite book, so I will buy anything with the theme, even if it’s the Disney theme. I am going to buy the whole collection, and the palette actually works for me because I don’t like bold, bright colors. Thanks for the review!
I feel like ever since the Pooh collection, Colourpop has been killing it with their lip masks. It's always the item that I want the most in these collections!
I agree with you about the palette’s color story. I thought it’d be darker. Or instead they could have had smaller palettes that represented different characters from the story. I don’t hate the color story but I don’t love it either. Since they used Alice and The Queen for the blushes, they should have used the Cheshire Cat and maybe the Rabbit or Mad Hatter or the Caterpillar for the other lipstick(s). I don’t like how they’ve been pairing the lipsticks and glosses together and not giving you a choice to just buy one or the other. Personally, I don’t like that gloss formula. So I may pick up some things or I might just wait for a sale. If I do pick up something, it’d be the palette, one blush, and the lip mask. Honestly, the packaging is what’s really pulling me in! Lol Thank you for sharing!
I HATE the Lux Lip gloss formula, including texture and scent. Hate it. The odd thing is, many other CP lip products are winners for me. Even their lip oils, while not fantastic, are not offensive to my senses like the Lux lip gloss. After buying several full collections, forcing myself to try to use the Lux Lip glosses that inevitably composed a large part of the lip products, and hating every second of them on my lips, I began doing calculations. For the last few collections, when there are 2+ Lux Lip glosses, I calculated how much I would save by buying the whole collection (and getting saddled with more of those horrible Lux glosses) v. just the parts I most wanted. For Alice, I saw the Lux lip glosses and two colors of lipstick I have many, many times over in my very large red and bright pink lipstick wardrobe and that broke the deal for me, even though I liked every other part of the collection. I bought just the palette (cursing the two glitter shades- UGH; I'll never use them), the two blushes, and only allowed myself one of the shadow sticks even though I would have used and liked all three. Breaking the deal of the "full collection" siren song forced me to narrow down my purchase to only those products I wanted and loved the most. So...thanks, Lux Lip Glosses, for forcing me to save money and pre-curate my collection...?
I feel the same way about Disney's Alice in Wonderland. I remember the exact same feeling of being haunted and captivated as a 3 y o by the trippy color daze and following a fellow girl being entranced in an adventure through it.
I really like the colors of the palette, but I think I might like the aurora struck one more! I might be looking at that for a birthday gift to myself this autumn.
It's extremely frustrating that they released what is basically a mini Aurora Struck when we've been waiting for an Aurora Struck restock since December. Also, I think if they had included a bright yellow (maybe next to the blue, in lieu of the creamsicle color), it would have given a more Alice vibe instantly. I always think of that blue/yellow combo!
I think there should have been a mad hatter or Cheshire Cat lip and cheek option with more non-traditional lip colors and a blue/purple shifty highlighter. It seems so weird there’s no highlighter at all
Honestly I am kind of happy that a lot of the stuff is more “wearable” especially since I know I’ll mostly buy for the packaging since I’m obsessed with Alice. I’ve seen a couple of other companies do the Alice theme before and even have some do I’m not overly disappointed that they went the pastel route. Also I LOVE the little lip mask. I bought the Winnie the Pooh one and have been using it solid so I ended up stocking up on this one.
I was late for this very important date lol, the little hair brush and the full collection are already sold out. I love the palette but I wish the quality was up to par in their very rare cool-tone-friendly colour stories. The packaging is out of this world cute though. 😍 Thank you for your thorough review! 💜
Amanda you have such a good eye for dupes. I would never had thought of the bt21 and the odens eye one. I definitely saw Aurora struck right away but I honestly forgot about ticket to dreamland 😂 We need your version of this one, please! I know between all the quads and quints I have from colourpop I can easily revamp this. I completely agree with you. I don’t see pastels for Alice, other than her dress. I would’ve gone with brighter shades for sure. I think of the all the flowers and all the colorful triply stuff from the movie and I don’t see it in the palette. Plus, I just don’t care for pastels. Looks to me like they wanted to make sure it fit the pastel wave of releases that come every early spring.
I'm a huge Alice in Wonderland fan since I was a kid, and this was disappointing. I kinda want to just buy it for packaging. I'm hoping they'll have a pt2 later on and it's more colorful and fun. I'd like to see your version of Alice in Wonderland eyeshadow palette
I got the blushes. The palette was a pretty spring color story but not my type of colors (don’t reach for peach or blue.) is it magnetic pans?? Maybe I’ll grab it in the future to have the packaging but reconfigure.
Maybe I need to chill out (it's JUST makeup!) but since Alice in Wonderland has always been a favorite, I feel like CP let the franchise down. AiW is VIBRANT! I don't get why they were so adamant about it being a (weak) pastel palette. That said, props for the adorable hair brush pocketwatch--super cute. :)
Can you use the shadow sticks in the waterline or are they too thick? I think they look really pretty but would probably only use them in the waterline.
I’m pretty shocked about such a cool toned pallet coming out right before summer. I think the shades are pretty but I have a warm tan undertone and so cool colors do not suit me when the sun comes out. I actually may have purchased this in February/March.
The pics of CP palettes always tricks me too. I was seriously surprised when I got my first mega palette. I thought it was so tiny compared to the pics and everyone's review videos.
I loved the movie as a kid & watched it all the time! I actually love the color story, the shimmers look so beautiful, maybe the mattes won’t be the best but I can work with them. I could not resist, even though I’m on a low buy. Also got the color sticks to try out and the mushroom lip mask, I’m a sucker for the packaging, the rest is cute but I don’t use those lip colors.
It was anti climactic for me, 😅 I LOVE Alice in Wonderland and I'll still probably get the palette later if it goes on sale. Maybe lol. I would have alo preferred to have seen them do something with the "eat me" bottle or candies instead of the "who r u" lip scrub pot.
That whole left column of the Lost in Wonderland palette can go: those colors are too acid and muted to help out with those rosy and pastel spring shades. This kind of thing is why Aurora Struck is the only powder eye shadow palette that I have purchased in the past couple of years.
Trying to talk myself out of the palette because I'm pretty sure I only want it for that fuchsia color. Anyone have any dupe suggestions for that color?
No! Don't buy the palette for the magenta shade (Lose Something?); it's actual plastic glitter, despite the newer base formulation that has CP dubbing it a "Pearlescent Glitter." Take it from me and many others who injured their eyes with glitter shadows (in my case, from a different ColourPop palette a year or two ago): avoid real glitter on your eyes, like the plague, and certainly don't make it the reason you buy a palette. Actually, it was almost the reason I didn't buy the Alice palette; my two favorite shades are glitters I'll never use and be annoyed by every time I lay eyes on them. To answer your question: The most intensely-colored and high impact Magenta/Fuchsia eyeshadow in my collection is a single called "Bestie" from the small independent brand JD Glow. But it's not a sparkly shade; it's more an intense metallic, especially when foiled over sticky eye primer or via your finger or a damp brush. EDIT: Interesting -- looks like at some point they repurposed the name "Bestie" and are using it for an orange-copper shade now. They have a fuchsia-like shade on their site now called Sprung, but it looks a lighter shade than my super-magenta old version of "Bestie." Worth trying Sprung, though, or shopping around other small indie brands. Although my old Bestie isn't a sparkly shade, that company and many other small indie brands are experts at creating "special" shadows that sparkle like glitter but without plastics, using much safer mineral pigments. P.S. check the ingredients always to make sure the sparkle comes from Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, and other minerals, and doesn't contain plastic glitter such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
I was so excited when I saw the promo pics with that vial of glitter!! Then I see the actual products. I think I'm only enthusiastic about the lip mask. I cannot confirm I will be better than you. It will likely be nommed. 😂😂
I like the palette but agree they needed to do more maybe with the other items. The color story is very “golden afternoon” flower. Alice has always been a favorite. The books too. But I will never understand why Colourpop makes the shadow sticks basically dupes for colors in the palette. Make a marketable palette and gives us weird with the shadow sticks/ side items. The blushes work for sure as does the red queen lipstick. Alice lipstick is meh and will probably only look good on fair skin. I got the palette and the red queen lip. I am a little nervous about whether the red will be deep enough for my light medium olive skin but we will see.
So I don’t dislike the palette, I did order it along with the lip mask and red blush however I totally agree that I don’t think pastels represent the movie too well. Maybe the caterpillar part was more pastel? Been a long time since I’ve seen it. But I remember most of Alice In Wonderland being very bold beautiful colors. Would definitely love to see an Amanda version of this palette! I might try to make one too! I think perhaps after Snow White being very bold primary colors they tried to do a different vibe for this one. Also @colourpopcosmetics please stop only offering lip products in bundles! I would have bought a lipstick but don’t like those glosses so I had to skip the lip products all together.
I'm even more disappointed in this one than I was with Snow White. I may get the palette when it gets discounted, IF it's still available by then 😂 I don't think it's worth the price. Edit: Wait, I'll get Aurora Struck instead:3
I agree they could’ve went more darker to me if you were to show this palette to me I would think the little mermaid not Alice in wonderland at all when I look at it I just like another let down I don’t have a lot of their Disney palettes and the ones I do have are the Halloween ones like the misunderstood palette and the nightmare before Christmas which fans were also very disappointed in them for cause we wanted a green I didn’t feel it was at all thought through but the shades are nice just wish they could’ve played with more colors and not play it safe u know 😮😮😮😮😮😮😢😢😢😢
I totally see why you were disappointed with the color story. The weird, "out there" storyline and original material call for a more vibrant and contrasting color story. And I would like to see that. HOWEVER, I am excited for this palette because it's far more approachable to me (as someone who simply dabbles in color). The colors do remind me a lot of the film, especially after a rewatch, but they're just more muted. Perhaps more in line with the scenery. All the same, I do think the color story works, makes sense for the movie, and is the more approachable palette, especially for those of us (ahem, me) who LOVE Alice in Wonderland but would hesitate to buy a more "whacky" palette. Also because I missed out on Aurora Struck, and I feel this gets me what I wanted from that palette anyway. Just one lady's opinion right here. But I'd totally watch a BYOP of what you'd prefer to see!
The palette's color story is pretty disappointing--a missed opportunity to go with wild colors, for sure. But I do love the birthday cake lip mask (I bought up a lot of the Powerpuff Girls version!)--I use it as a regular lip balm, and a very light layer serves as a nice primer for my drier lipsticks.
Glitter, still? Tiny particles of plastic with sharp edges are hazards to human eyes (to say nothing of the environment). Amanda, I thank you so much for always talking about eye safety on your channel. Yes, I bought the Alice palette, but it was an exception to my no-buy on glitter palettes, and a painful transaction knowing two of the best shades for me (the light topper and the magenta) are real, i.e. plastic, glitter and not a reflective mineral. I will never use these shades. WHY OH WHY does ColourPop still use plastic glitter? CP recently reformulated the base of their glitter formula to create the hybrid "Pearlescent Glitter" category of pressed eyeshadow. Reformulation notwithstanding, the first ingredient, at least in the Alice palette, is *polyethylene terephthalate (PET)*--i.e. "real" glitter, essentially sharp plastic particles. And every other time they've released a palette in the last year or so, the palettes have been spoiled by putting in real, plastic glitter for not just some shades, but usually what would have been my *favorite* (and necessary, for me, like lighter topper) ones! Please, everyone, understand that although CP is marketing these shades among the mattes and safe mineral-shimmers in the same palette, they are not normal eyeshadows and if you choose to risk using them, you should take great care when putting them on *AND* removing them I once got a micro-sparkle from a ColourPop shadow in my eye and it affected my vision for several hours and scared the life out of me. I couldn't fully see and was terrified it would scratch the eye permanently. Maybe it did do that, after all. "Glitter glues" and sticky eye primers do not mitigate the harm. In fact, many people (including me) sustain the glitter injury when they are removing their eye makeup. I buy from ColourPop almost every month or two. If people like me make a petition and send it to CP asking them to stop using plastic glitter and substitute mineral pigments like so many small independent brands use to great (and equally beautiful and sparkly) effect, will they finally take action?
I love the packaging but the shades of everything aren’t special enough for me. Really, the only color I want is that metallic pink in the eyeshadow palette. Maybe it’s the visual artist in me-I’m drawn to the intensity and vibrancy, especially for this movie but I’m probably in the minority.
This collection is kind of a dud for me (I know unpopular opinion). It seems like half of the collection is missing. They could have gone all out for this theme and they didn't. Where are the highlighters, super shock shadows, jelly much shadows etc. Also the lip kits from the Snow White collection included lip liners. These don't.... Why not? They are around the same price. Oh well. There is always the next collection lol.
This collection is lacking so much to make it outstanding for me, the star of the show which would be the eyeshadow pallete is a disappointment. I would of loved to see something more wacky and fun for the shadows for Alice in wonderland. It's saying Alice in blandland. I love colourpop but this is a pass for me, the shadows would of been a beautiful color story for another theme
I second this. I’m buying it for the packaging and nostalgia. But as soon as I get it I’m revamping it.
Oh yes I would love that!
Right…even the pics on the packaging don’t go with the shades chosen 🤦♀️
i wish they would restock aurora. not even one restock since launch...
I think a purple blush for the Cheshire Cat would have been a great addition!
I honestly thought that the palette was cute and colorful - didn't expect the mattes to be as pastel and sheer as they ended up being. Thanks for saving my coin~

I agree with you! The blue shade is Alice's dress, the magenta color is Cheshire Cat, etc.
I love that you do full swatches and comparisons, so I always use your code! I neeeeed that hair brush!! 😍

“Listen, be better than me….don’t eat your makeup.” 😂😂
Am I buying this for the packaging - yes. Do I care - No. Will I use it - yes 🙆🏻♀️ I’m very light skinned. Love this. Fits the movie well.
This is the review iv been waiting for, Amanda you always do a great job!😊
Can you do a comparison with the palette colors that look similar to the eyeshadow stixs❤❤❤
Really want the watch brush. But that's it. Will wait and grab it in the future during a sale.
Thanks for pushing this out so quickly! 😊
Appreciate the palette comparisons. Thank you.
The Queen of Hearts blush and the lip mask are definitely going on my wish-list. Would enjoy a video of you using the products.
I was late for this very important date lol, the little hair brush and the full collection are already sold out. I love the palette but I wish the quality was up to par in their very rare cool-tone-friendly colour stories. The packaging is out of this world cute though. 😍 Thank you for your thorough review! 💜
Always so incredibly thorough!
Thank you for this while I’m waiting for it to drop 😊
Amanda you have such a good eye for dupes. I would never had thought of the bt21 and the odens eye one. I definitely saw Aurora struck right away but I honestly forgot about ticket to dreamland 😂 We need your version of this one, please! Thank you for your honesty in all your reviews! ❤🎉🌹
I really want the lip mask, but don't want to put in an order just for that, ugh. Excellent review, very helpful. Thanks for all you do.
Good morning Amanda! I'm so excited to hear your thoughts! I'm definitely purchasing this collection 😊💜🩷💙🤎🧡💛💚
I love everything omg
I think this is the darn cutest. I'm a sucker for the lip masks/scrubs from these Disney drops & even that lil brush might get me.
The packaging is sooo cute!! 😍
I love Alice in Wonderland too, but this just isn't my color story vibe. I really want that little lip mask though! Too cute!!
I got the blushes. The palette was a pretty spring color story but not my type of colors (don’t reach for peach or blue.) is it magnetic pans?? Maybe I’ll grab it in the future to have the packaging but reconfigure.
Thanks for your review! I can't help but compare it to the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland pallete
When did ColourPop reformulate the shadow sticks? That's awesome news!
Maybe I need to chill out (it's JUST makeup!) but since Alice in Wonderland has always been a favorite, I feel like CP let the franchise down. AiW is VIBRANT! I'm second to comment 🎉Thanks Amanda I will definitely be picking this up so cute I'd get the whole pr box 🧡💜💙🌸🦋🌻🏃♂️💮🌼

I’m sad for your disappointment. I still like the pallet and thinking hard about getting it. I like the black gloss.
Love your commennts and swatches
It was anti climactic for me, 😅
I LOVE Alice in Wonderland and I'll still probably get the palette later if it goes on sale. Maybe lol.
I would have alo preferred to have seen them do something with the "eat me" bottle or candies instead of the "who r u" lip scrub pot.

Looks like pkg could be collectors' item.
I love the cute packaging on the lip masks they’ve been giving us!
How is there not a RED for the Queen in an Alice in Wonderland palette? And a maybe even a darker blue for her dress, caterpillar, and more.
Trying to talk myself out of the palette because I'm pretty sure I only want it for that fuchsia color. Anyone have any dupe suggestions for that color?

Maybe Colourpops single shade Solstice with the mostest
I just bought the mirror and the lip balm. The color story did not appeal to me. 😕 thank you for the video!
I was so excited when I saw the promo pics with that vial of glitter!! Then I see the actual products. I think I'm only enthusiastic about the lip mask. I cannot confirm I will be better than you. It will likely be nommed. 😂😂
Sad, I like those shimmer shadows. Like Stark Raving Mad.
Crazy how close Bon Voyage palette was.
Just ordered the lip mask, the stopwatch was gone in under 5 minutes. Good luck y'all !
I like the palette but agree they needed to do more maybe with the other items. The color story is very “golden afternoon” flower. Alice has always been a favorite. The books too. Little mermaid theme would have been better for pallet
Oh this is sad. When i think aiw i think BRIGHT BOLD.. NEON EVEN. They could have thrown in more interesting shades in super shock shadows imo
I'm even more disappointed in this one than I was with Snow White. I may get the palette when it gets discounted, IF it's still available by then 😂 I don't think it's worth the price.
Edit: Wait, I'll get Aurora Struck instead:3
The packaging is cute, as always… but I think Sigma did it better with the palette color story.

Please, everyone, understand that although CP is marketing these shades among the mattes and safe mineral-shimmers in the same palette, they are not normal eyeshadows and if you choose to risk using them, you should take great care when putting them on *AND* removing them
I once got a micro-sparkle from a ColourPop shadow in my eye and it affected my vision for several hours and scared the life out of me.
If people like me make a petition and send it to CP asking them to stop using plastic glitter and substitute mineral pigments like so many small independent brands use to great (and equally beautiful and sparkly) effect, will they finally take action?
brush sold out already 😭
I really like the dark lipgloss in the Queen’s set, but I don’t wear bright lipstick ever. Overall it’s a cute collection, but I didn’t buy anything.
Oh no! The croquet Queen lipgloss 😓
I feel like there should’ve been a yellow shade in the palette.
❤
I feel like this collection is lacking in blue, which is Alice's color. Their should have been a blue eyeshadow stick, a yellow one too.
I love the packaging but the shades of everything aren’t special enough for me. Really, the only color I want is that metallic pink in the eyeshadow palette. Maybe it’s the visual artist in me-I’m drawn to the intensity and vibrancy, especially for this movie but I’m probably in the minority.
I see this is sold out.
The packaging is terrific!! But not thrilled with the shades…. Especially the lipsticks. 2 reds? Really?
I'm sooo disappointed by this collection😔😔
This collection is lacking so much to make it outstanding for me, the star of the show which would be the eyeshadow pallete is a disappointment. I would of loved to see something more wacky and fun for the shadows for Alice in wonderland. It's saying Alice in blandland. I love colourpop but this is a pass for me, the shadows would of been a beautiful color story for another theme
Don't like this collection at all. So disappointing. 😢
No no no not interested.
