He has a no-trade clause, his 2025 salary is guaranteed, and cutting him in 2026 would cost them $3M5M in dead cap. If Cousins doesn't turn it around in a game or 2, yeah they should definitely give Penix a few games to show what he's got. If he's got any potential then they should start Penix next year full-time and Cousins becomes an expensive back up until hopefully they work out a trade. Only disagreement I have with your analysis is that I don't think we're as good a team as you do. Looking at who wins man-on-man contests against the teams we've played this year, we're no better than NFL-average. That's the team management has built. The Falcons use Pitts as a decoy. It's not his fault. When he was open Cousins was deliberately ignoring him. You could see his frustration with Cousins. I saw Pitts run and cut left to draw defenders his way and turn and the actual play and pass going to the other side of the field. That's the same thing they did with Julio and that's why he left the Falcons. It's not Pitts it's the trash offensive scheme and an aging quarterback who doesn't throw to him as if it's something personal between them.
If Kirk is not throwing to Pitts it's because he is not getting separation or quits his route like he did in the end zone. And on that INT in the end zone, Pitts is completely covered when Kirk throws the ball. He is also lazy with catches and doesn't go after the ball or box out the defender. I was hoping Pitts would be better this season with Kirk challenging him, but he is not very reliable when his QB needs him.

Our coach doesn't have the balls to make the change and if they don't make the playoffs he should be fired...you have to make a changes at this point...as the saying goes, you can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results!

Their problems are far deeper than the QB situation, Penix is not the answer and if he fails, then who are you going to blame? 85% of the decisions have nothing to do with foot ball operations its all smoke and mirrors.
Only disagreement I have with your analysis is that I don't think we're as good a team as you do. Looking at who wins man-on-man contests against the teams we've played this year, we're no better than NFL-average. That's the team management has built. There's hype galore about many of our players who are actually just average. And God knows what the problem is with Pitts. Did you see him give up in the middle of a play yesterday? I suspect he was angry about not being used. But the simple truth is that if the coaches thought he was reliably good enough to be playing more, he'd be playing more. I expect we'll see him traded by next season. Another front-office failure.

Sure, Kirk didn't throw a touchdown in the Saints game but he threw 300+ yards, the Falcons ran the ball A LOT, scored on the ground and only lost by three points.

I can understand if the last three losses were all blowouts, but the Falcons lost by 3 points and 4 points. But a few losses and it’s bench the quarterback who got us to 1st in the NFC South. Come on, take a chill pill already. Kirk (and the offense) is gonna bounce back like he has done his whole career…..smh

I can't trust Kirk Cousins. I think Zack Robinson didn't trust Kirk Cousins either. Play calling was a little off. Their tied for first place with the Buccaneers. I don't feel good about Koo either. There must be something in the air, because around the league kickers who have been solid , are missing two and three field goals a game. Ironically Kirk Cousins has to go to Minnesota where the fans are glad he's gone. You talk about pressure. I think Father time waits on no one. Kirk Cousins is aging right before our eyes.

The Falcons use Pitts as a decoy. It's not his fault. When he was open Cousins was deliberately ignoring him. You could see his frustration with Cousins. I saw Pitts run and cut left to draw defenders his way and turn and the actual play and pass going to the other side of the field. That's the same thing they did with Julio and that's why he left the Falcons. It's not Pitts it's the trash offensive scheme and an aging quarterback who doesn't throw to him as if it's something personal between them.
If Kirk is not throwing to Pitts it's because he is not getting separation or quits his route like he did in the end zone. And on that INT in the end zone, Pitts is completely covered when Kirk throws the ball. He is also lazy with catches and doesn't go after the ball or box out the defender. I was hoping Pitts would be better this season with Kirk challenging him, but he is not very reliable when his QB needs him.
