The LWTS is one of the best thermal optics available on the commercial market and is an excellent scope for many applications including hog and predator hunting, law enforcement and home defense. Despite being available for several years now, the LWTS is still relatively unknown compared to other commercial offerings. ** Why Do We Hunt Hogs? **
Feral hogs are a non-native and invasive species in Texas. Each year hogs cause millions of dollars in damage in the form of damaged crops, contaminated water supplies, broken equipment, transmission of disease and injury to livestock.
Feral hogs compete with native wildlife for resources and also prey directly on the eggs and young of ground nesting birds and will actively hunt small mammals, frogs, lizards and snakes.
Due to their intelligence, adaptability, and prolific breeding habits, traditional methods of hunting and trapping have been largely ineffective in reducing the feral hog population. The introduction of night vision and thermal optics has greatly increased landowners' ability to mitigate the destruction caused by feral hogs.
Feral swine are not considered game animals in Texas and may be hunted by any means or methods at any time of year.

This video is so sad yet satisfying to watch
ONLY thing that's sad is the amount of damage those hogs cause. Until you see the damage firsthand like i have, you can't begin to imagine the extent of it, it's far far worse than you think. They can uproot crops up to a foot deep in a matter of hours depending on how many there are, I've seen a 45 acre field wiped out in less than a day, they are like mini bulldozers/excavators that just don't stop, from the air the ground looks like it had been bombed.

@Mountain Rider Thanks much for your reply. I have a .308 (Remington 700), a Weatherby Vanguard 30-06, and a Tikka 6.5 mm Creedmoor. My farm features open fields, bordering woods. Most shots are 250 to 300 yards. I'm assuming with a top of line thermal scope, 300 yards is reasonable. I haven't yet tried AR 10 for eradication, choosing rather to shoot longer distances with these high quality bolt action rifles. This is a superb video. Well done, very informative.
Does most of the meat get donated to shelters or wherever?Just curious since it seems they'd fill up the fridge and freezer fast with how many are killed.

Have you considered using the "Hoggone" baiting system developed by Australian and USA research.
You can take out a whole sounder, its environmentally friendly, kills within 2 hours of consumption, as it effects the oxygen within the blood and is considered humane.
Its worth doing a search on it.
You may get a more complete result at the time resulting in longer periods between breeding numbers jumping up.
If you work in with neighbours farmers can really cut back on hog numbers, damage and costs.
I have no financial or other interest in this product.
As it is not a poison, therefore hogs cannot develop immunity or resistance to it.
I think more of this type of activity is a must to remove the hog problem down south.

I think it would be a great idea if some of the farmers got ahold of the department of defense and allowed the military to do some tactical night training on their property. It would give some of our special operations some live target training and at the same time some training on properly skinning hogs...not to mention killing alot of hogs for the farmers. 👍😉🤣🤣🤣
The 2nd round of shooting and leading was very impressive. Nice shooting all around but it appears you folks are dealing with a major hog infestation battle that won't be won anytime soon based on the numbers you are trying to exterminate.

I like the title of the video seems that most people would not know about this judging that it's the cost of some new cars and even used cars I seen it as high as $22,000 and as low as 13500 with the suggested retail a 15,000
