Traffic is chaotic, and the lack of lane markings doesn't help. People seem to drive wherever they feel like, and I pity the tram driver who has to navigate through it all!

nice work there mate! It's a good route to be checking out the city
I can see that the traffic is kind of wild around Bucharest...nothing that surprises me but, it reminds me of many idiots that I deal with while driving around here in Buenos Aires...even the same idiotic moves I can say!! We have no trams around here though...
keep well and greetings from Argentina

Hi! Excellent video! But I did all of Europe and in Asia and otehr parts of the World in Tramways on RUclips in Cities and I never saw a circus like that, the traffic is crazy, there is no road security code there at Bucharest, People are driving like crazy and no respect at all for the others, it is Soul Less I think, There is no Police Force whatsoever, there is no enforcement, it is awful, never saw a Population driving like that in all my life. Do not know what is happening there(Police Strike?), wow at Bucharest, it is at Your own peril. No respect at all for Tramways too and Their Chauffeurs. It is a very difficult job being a Tramway Chauffeur at this City. Take good care and keep being safe and will pray for Your safety. If there is some who wants me to go visit, I will not go I think, it is dangerous. I am Canadian and here too in Canada there is not a lot of respect for road security only a minority are following it, but not like that at Your City.
    Au Revoir from Canada.

Sadly, Bucharest nowadays is an urban jungle. Everybody does whatever the fuck they want and the authorities don't ever bother telling that that what they do is wrong. Speaking of cars, there are over 2 million cars in Bucharest, and it already has a big density (8 people/km2), and they think if they have a big car they automaticaly have big tits, that's why there's absolute ZERO respect for drivers here. Another reason why there are so many cars in Bucharest, is because the Public Transit is not promoted (they always say that you can get that car you fancy by just being a slave to the banks) and it's also pretty shitty, you say in the stations for too long, the fleet of buses/trolleys/trams are in poor conditon thanks to RATB's (Operator) poor maintenance and you also find undesirable people that you don't want to see. (except for the metro, but nowadays is becomes overcrowded and the trains don't have air conditioning units (except for the driver)).

Welcome to the real world. The reason transit is not being promoted is simple. Revenue. The City and Governments at all levels get more money with all those cars on the road. Sales, insurance, maintenance, etc.
And because the City was not built to take all that traffic, what can the cops do ? Not much. If they did something, traffic would be too slow and that's a no-no. And what can the drivers do when the cops do nothing ? Navigate the jungle any way they can.
Bucharest is not an exception. Many others cities have gone the same route. Lip service is being paid to public transit by all politicians and little being done. All you get is noise, pollution, stress, sickness, high transportation costs, etc. Sadly, Bucharest is like many other places around the world. It could have been something but instead it has become just another hell-hole.
