Wasted a lot of money on premium shafts only to realize the av raw blue was my go-to for my swing. I'm so glad they made a 1k pro version of the blue profile. It just went in the bag this week. I hope to see the same results you had when I put some grass under it this weekend. Great timing on the review! Been looking for one and this is the first for the 1k pro blue I've found.
@FloGrown overall flight is the same to me, but different feel. Blue 6x has more feel at the bottom, 1k white has more feel in the hands. 1k black has no feel at all.
@@ArmyGolfBC appreciate it. I had the blue tr and it felt similar to the white to me. 1k black I had felt like a telephone pole lol. Thinking about a blue or red tr
I just upgraded/replaced my TourAD MJ with Tensei 1K Pro White and could not be more satisfied. I wish I made the switch earlier. 1K white is much more stable, lower dispersion, and buttery smooth!
Tried 1k 7x on driver n hated it, cut off two inches put it in a lst cobra 3wood n its just wonderful. Shafts are so weird …i wish i could get 20 shafts and just test them all for a month switching in n out. The numbers are the numbers but certain feelings you get from the shaft make it soooooo much easier to square up or release or hit down on or add extra speed etc if i won the lottery i would get each of the shafts and have a tipped version and then counter weighted grip shaft versions so 4 combo variations for every shaft and then hit each one for like 10 minutes every day so thats like 80 different combos. Lol
Great review of the 3 shafts that I'm currently considering for my new TSr 3 driver. I'm having a fitting in two days to see which one is the best fit for my swing.
Really interested to see the same test in a three wood as well. Seems some shafts would suit better or worse. I’ve got 1k black in the driver but would be interested in blue for the 3 wood maybe.
Obviously everyone is different but I'm glad to read a positive experience with a Titleist driver. I have one coming I'm going to put into a TSr4 and hope to have a good time with.
Can any of u guys compare the 1K black to any of these 3? I have yet to hit any of the 1K pro shafts, but I do love my black. I know it’s to stiff/boardy feeling for most, but I’ve been hitting it well paired with my SIM driver head.
Tensei Blue would be pretty much alike the legendary orange Graphite Design. If you took the same weight in both, i bet they would perform VERY similar. Feel too.
I have the Titleist 1K black 75X in my TSR2+ and 85X in my 18* TSR3. Wish you would add it so I can have some idea what it is or is not. Maybe in a fairway test?
Yes addressed this a few times. Yes Ping most consistent however the TM was giving him the ball speed and he was putting a higher preference on ball speed. Ball speed = longer distance. Short distance to pin = Shorter club into green = lower scores.
@@jakedavid4304 yeah I was joking about the constant switching haha - we all knew he would go back to TM despite the epiphany he had a few weeks ago about playing performance over looks
Huge fan your content! After all the Driver Videos and comparisons of them, I would love to see a battle of the new (low Spin) Fairway woods. Of course with comparable Shafts etc. The videos with stock shafts at Taylor Made and PGA show are nice, but a real comparison would be great. Cheers !
Ian, question. I’m averaging 164mph ball speed with 13.9 degrees of launch for a 272 carry average. I really feel like there’s more carry distance there. What do you suspect the problem is?
I recently switched to the AV Raw White X-flex and picked 10yds over my EvenFlow. Im in the Sim 10.5 head. Do you think I need a different head? Any suggestions? Appreciate you responding.
Is the sim accounting for wind or elevation in those numbers? I have similar numbers and don’t hit it anywhere near that far. For example, you had a swing the was 156.5 ball speed @ 1940 rpms and launched at 11.9 degrees that carried 272.7 yards. I know GCQuad is better than flightscopes online trajectory optimizer, but that says it would only fly 253 yards (abojt 20 yards different!). The flight scope estimate is closer to what I have seen from similar numbers in my own game
Even trackmans optimization charts only show 259 yards of carry for a 105 mph driver swing at +5 AoA (and that is with 11.7 launch and 1810 of spin). The carry optimization for that speed and AoA according to trackman would be 14.5 launch and 2563 spin and is still only 263 yards
I think it’s the other way. As in a stiffer shaft tip reduces lead deflection at impact; less tip stiff profile should promote more dynamic loft. But where you could be correct is that too much lead deflection from a softer tip could expose the bottom of the head more and the golfer might hit lower part of face with less loft and add more spin. Player specific
@@marinmb44 That is what i experience with these different shafts, exactly as you describe.i am launching a blue tensei much higher then a white, similar numbers to Ian but so much difference in results. Interested in the blue 1k and the AD-UB. Seem to always get along w tensei blue. Thought I would like the Fuji Ventus red velocore. Which I do but seem to always go back to blue profile
You need to stagger and interchange. You turned into a range pro. Hitting same exact shot 20 times, guess what, last ones were best. Says nothing about shafts. Have to interchange and randomize. Patterns. No help
love the subtle smirk @1:34 from Mikey when Ian says he went back to Stealth2
Would be awesome to eventually see some shot tracers for your future outdoor videos. Great stuff, lads!

I’m still rocking a Tensei Pro Orange 70TX tipped 1.5” from 2017. It’s an absolute unit.
Glad they came out with this series. Now there is some competition against Ventus!
No doubt they feel better than Ventus (not that Ventus feels bad or anything). The 1K line-up is the epitome of smooth, stable

I have been looking forward to you guys testing the Blue 1k, awesome as always boys
I’m back to the white after 2 summers. It is a unicorn shaft (High Launch/Low Spin).
Been gaming the 1K orange. Best shaft I’ve ever used
Never been a big tensei fan until I hit the 1k white. That shaft is money for me!
I have the Raw White in my bag stock from my LTDx LS. Really like it. Wish I had the funds for a premium shaft to feel the difference. 😅

Cool to see some outdoor testing!

What is the difference in the 1K Black offered as a stock shaft with Titleist? I currently use the 1K White.
The materials are not as high end. The black does not have the Boron fiber. It does have 1K and Xlink though
If you’re going to do outdoor testing, you HAVE to use a ball tracer.
Tensei has new 1k pro red and 1k pro hybrid now. Could TXG do a review with these 2 new tensei shafts? Thanks.

For me the Tensei Orange Pro 60S feels the same as my Fuji Velocore TR 50R

you mentioned the butt on the Tensei Blue driver shaft was larger (2 layers of tape) Do you know if this is the same for the fairway shafts as well ?

Ian, question. I’m averaging 164mph ball speed with 13.9 degrees of launch for a 272 carry average. I really feel like there’s more carry distance there. What do you suspect the problem is?
I suspect your spin rate is too high because of your strike being too low/in the heel.

Do these shafts come in different standards for off the shelf and custom versions? As in the Ventus store bought and Ventus velacore.
1K does not have an OEM/made for version. 1k specifically refers to the very high end material in it.
Hey guys on the graph displayed there are small numbers below the main numbers, are those representing perfect numbers for that particular swing?

So question for ya.. would the white launch higher due to stiffer profile and retaining clubhead angle?
I think it’s the other way. As in a stiffer shaft tip reduces lead deflection at impact; less tip stiff profile should promote more dynamic loft.
