Her music in amazing. I love that so many of her songs have something to do with the ocean. I wish more Americans knew about her. I've been a fan for about 7 years now.
Kate you shame the lark and the nightingale..they envy your sweet gift of song,,Thank you..and the hard work of your family,,to bring this beautiful gift ..to my ears...
To all those lost souls thoughout the British isles on the seas , weather it was for leisure, work or rescue, or the protection of our nation, we bow our heads , we feel our hearts and pray because we miss you .
Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Martin Carthy, Maddy Prior , Dave Swarbrick, June Tabor, Nic Jones, etc etc... no, English folk has been alive and well for years - you just haven't been listening - glad you have discovered it. These are the young 'uns ...:)
Kate is from England but I've always thought that her music and melodies sound Irish. She deserves to become more famous outside U.K., she's so full of talent!
They are all interlinked. All Traditional Styles fed off and into each other. Scots has Swedish Icelandic and Norwegian Influences. Appalachian has African, Irish Scots Welsh all intermixed. Its one massive melting pot. What matters is the beauty of the Music and Words not the Nationality of the Style.
When Kate talks you laugh, when Kate sings you cry. Britain will never have a finer artist.
So great to see her in concert. What a charming woman. I saw her support Billy Bragg about twenty years ago. Still my favourite gig ever.

On of the saddest songs I know and so, so, so beautiful.

Remembering my friend Sanni, passed by in October 17. She had (has?) a wonderful soul. Recommended Kate Rusby to me......😢
