    30.4 miles is nothing to sneeze at especially on a day that you didn't want to get up and moving! Great ride today, David. When I ran the Susquehanna River in my jet rig for smallmouth bass, I used to love to explore out of the way places where no other anglers frequented. As for my trike explorations, I mainly stick to the trails. Our local roadways here in Southern Lancaster County (Pa.) are so "unfriendly" (unsafe) to bike/trike riding. Take care & Keep on Triking!

      @DavidRidesaTrike  2 года назад +1

      Hi Tom. It turned out to be a really great day and I was sure it would be the day that even with riding I'd continue to feel lousy. But the trike came though! Again! And exploring really turned out to be a lot of fun. I was lucky that the roads I had to ride on are wide and have little traffic. The busier roads have bike paths set away from the street so that was great.

    Yes, l love exploring. Glad you had the opportunity to do it. I had been exploring on a DF for years and though I can’t get as remote on a RT I can do it more often and really enjoy it more. Loved your relive segment for this ride. I had thought about using it a while back but decided that most of my rides here in the islands wouldn’t warrant it. While I’m sure it would be easy to use, It would just be another thing to manage on my ride. Hope you get your wish for warm riding this week. I’m still waiting for less rain and wind here so I can continue my around the island ride.

    David, great video, as always. I also love to discover new routes and am also riding my spring alternative routes while waiting for the DPRT to dry out. What trail or road were you on with the trail that runs along it? You said it was fairly new and I don't think I've seen it before. I've take a few rides down to Busse Woods this spring. Some of the north-south roads in Arlington Heights are great to ride. I've found that as I discover more little trails and friendly side streets, that I can connect a nice and pleasant ride through the 'burbs. Riding down to Busse Woods from Wheeling, riding around the trail there and then back to Wheeling is about 30 miles.

    • @DavidRidesaTrike
      @DavidRidesaTrike  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jon. I thought of you when I was doing that ride - wondering where you've been riding. I saw that ride down to Busse. That looked like a nice ride.
      The road with the trail on it was Everett. There's a bike path that goes up Portwine from Deerfield Rd. all the way to Everett. Then if you turn left there there's a trail on the north side of the street that goes about halfway and then it continues on the south side of Everett. Before you get to St. Mary's/Daniel Wright FB entrance, it turns into the forest preserve and you end up on the loop that goes through Daniel Wright. You can connect from there to the DPRT. I did it again today and the DPRT is absolutely fine from the bridge in Half Day FP/Daniel Wright, all the way to Deerfield. Hopefully in a couple days that will be passable.
