The Grandfather will always be a player I'll give it up to as a #Legend IDGAF what nobody say. As a die-hard Celtics fan he always left it all on the floor & even though he was major piece that help put the Grizzlies on the map coz the team identity was ALL HIM, T.A. will always bleed green in my book. We were privileged to have him on the C's. ☘️🍀

This podcast is severely underrated. The video in the background sometimes is a great visual break and really adds to the interview. And TA is an amazing person, had the chance to meet him multiple times throughout his years in Memphis. A lot of people credit Zbo for the grind city years, but TA WAS grit & grind.

Bruh has the respect of a handful of offensively gifted guys, just lets you know how much of a dawg he was. And I never knew he tore his ACL and MCL before making 6 All NBA defensive teams, that’s wild!

31:53 For those who don't know, Rob Fisher is the Grizzlies' sideline reporter. I'm saying this because TA does a perfect impression of him that caught me off guard!
I'm so happy y'all are showing love to my grit n grind Grizzlies. Hope y'all talk about them even more going forward!

That 2011 upset by the Grizz over the Spurs gave birth to player management. The Spurs implemented player rest throughout the season to preserve their veterans' careers, and itjupset. Other teams and the league so much, that they were fined for sending Dyncan, Parker, and Ginobili home from Orlando to skip a nationally televised game against the Heat, just so they could play the next game at home against Memphis.
And because it extended the peak of the Spurs, the rest of the league followed. The Spurs stars were more rested than many of their playoff opponents, and everyone else had to replicate the strategy.
And the league benefited with the extension of superstars' careers.
And it all occurred as a result of the Spurs feeling embarrassed by the upset and the guys on TNT saying they couldnt believe it was over.

Interesting he took observations of Posey. Posey was one of the former Grizz who went through those Hubie Brown years, got to the first playoffs, only to get swept 3 straight times. So TA brought it all back full circle, along with Battier bringing it full circle hitting that 3 to upset the Spurs.
And on the Thunder series, here are some stats: 3 series, 2-1 OKC. 19 games in those serirs, 10-9 Memphis. I think 7 of those 19 games went to OT, including a record setting 4 straight OTs in 2014. Those Grizz definitely got KD's respect, to this day.
