Thanks. Couldn't figure out why my radar wasn't working. The book was pretty useless in giving information for this problem but you're video explained it precisely. I was holding in the cruise control on button too long thus disabling the Radar Cruise Control system.
It’s not very intuitive, is it? The fact there are quite a few tutorials out there is very telling. I’m driving a hire car for a couple of days and I’m pulling my hair out!
Hi Bronwyn, thank you for the clearly explained video. Understand the vehicle speed will automatically adjust according the speed of the vehicle in front. What would happen if the vehicle in front comes to a complete standstill?
If the vehicle is equipped with Full Speed Range DRCCS & Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 & up, the vehicle should engage the electronic parking brake bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. However, it is always best for the driver to be focused on the road ahead and apply the brakes themselves when there is a vehicle stopped in front.
what i need to do, press the button cruise and then press +res. just only that way. how to know when it functioning, I already then speed come lower down. so i just kick the pedal gas
Hi Muhammad! Press the Cruise button ON, which is the button with the speedometer/car icon then press -SET once you achieve the desired speed. This button is responsible for actually setting your speed and keeping it there once you release the gas pedal. The button +RES resumes your speed if you cancelled the cruise control after setting it first. I hope that helps! Thanks for commenting :)
Good question mate. Just bought a 2022 model last week. I’m gonna practice on a long straight with no one around me, lol. I’m a dinosaur when it comes to all this stuff. I’ve got some ideas now as I’ve watched a few videos on this. My motorcycle has a basic cruise control. NZ
Hi Bronwyn, once I use set- and resume+ as in setting speed, do I push set again to lock in that speed ? And push resume again if I need to brake and get up to original set speed again. Am I approx right or fully right ? Thanks. NZ
Hi John … No, once you have set the speed initially you can use - and + to decrease or increase the setting. Yes, once you apply the brake you will need to push resume again to engage cruise control and get back up to speed. You were pretty close.
Hi there! Thank you for the idea- I will add this to my list of videos to make! If you are using your Google Assistant through your phone and are having trouble, it is a phone issue. For example, if you are saying "Hey Google, play this song", that is a phone command being used over the speaker system. Toyota's voice command can be used to perform functions such as selecting a location in embedded navigation, tuning the radio, and Bluetooth features like making phone calls from a connected device. When using the Toyota voice command, ensure your Google Assistant or Siri is ON in your phone settings. If the vehicle's system still does not understand your commands, it could be as simple as a software update :) hope this helps!
Dynamic Cruise Control Following Distance Settings: 3 bars = safe following distance. 2 bars = not so safe following distance. 1 bar = road rage following distance.
A safe distance is relative when following other vehicles; it all depends on your travel speed. This measure may be improved if it were in seconds behind a vehicle. I'm not sure about the safest distances, but let's say, 3, 4, or 5 seconds behind the vehicle ahead would be good settings for me. Ps: Great content for a video. Looking forward to trying a 2023 Rav4 soon.
@@leonardchilcoat3266 most definitely. I forgot to mention those. They are just so common sense to me but I know it's not the same for everyone... Besides, I believe cruise control isn't recommended in certain conditions such as slippery or icy road driving. 👊
in my car, it stops to 0, then when the car in front moves, my car doesnt move automatically. It asks me to press the gas pedal to engage the cruise control again. Is there any settings to make it automatic?
Sumeer there is no setting to have the vehicle automatically start back up from a stop position. You do need to press the gas pedal and / or the cruise control resume button to start the vehicle back up from a complete stop.
@@belletoyota appreciate it. I'm relieved that my vehicle doesn't have any issues. I had a dodge Challenger before. It used to start from 0 if the vehicle had stopped less than 3 seconds
Hi there! Yes, that is correct. That button is exclusively to select the distance between you and the preceding vehicle while in Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. The vehicle will not adjust its speed for preceding vehicles if the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is not actively engaged. Thank you for your comment!
I keep hitting “set” but the car doesn’t actually set a speed for cruise control, as if I never activated it. To be clear it is active. I just look like a jerk on the Highway now
Hi Matt! It definitely sounds like the cruise control is not working as it should. Be sure to contact the service department of your nearest Toyota dealership so they can have a look!

Many thanks. That was helpful. I have just taken delivery of my Corolla Cross Atmos.
Thanks I’m renting a Rav 4 and was unable to figure out the CC. Your video was very helpful.

Same!
Instructions very clear thank you!!

J'aime beaucoup ce vidéo. Le pointage avec le doigt est utile . J'aimerai trouver un tel video pour ma Venza Ltd 2021

very well explained
Glad you think so! Thank you.
Do you have videos on voice controls? With Spotify & Android Auto? I try so many times and never get the playlists or songs I want.

Hi Darius! Interesting perspective! This is otherwise known as 50m, 40m, or 30m following distance. Thanks for taking the time to comment :)
It’s still pretty safe and distanced at least for me lol, can honestly barely tell the difference between all bars

In order to use the button with the vehicle icon and three lines you have to turn on the cruise control? It cannot be used alone?

does adaptive Cruise Control deactivated when you change lane?
No it does not, it will continue to operate when you change lanes.

hi guys i have 2020 camry hybrid on cruise minum is 45 klmt any one knows how to set it to 40 ?
