You got my vote for best RUclips thumbnail! Had to show my wife the last few minutes of this video because we can relate. Most boaters in the small rivers and lakes we frequent are respectful, especially the fisherman. However, there’s been times I’ve been very expressive regarding other boaters’ lack of etiquette on the water. It’s downright dangerous. If your fun comes at the expense of another’s safety then you deserve more than a finger. Glad you had a good road trip and made it out in one piece.
I know how that feels. My grandson and I were fishing on a little 15 foot John boat, couple guys in on of those speed boats, circled us 3 or 4 times , while my grandson was trying to reel one in, with the boat rocking crazy back and forth.
I don't know about inland lakes and such, but off shore you just radio it in on 156.800mhz (aka Marine ch 16) and they will generally stop, that or the CG will show up and have a talk with them.
I've learned so much from your channel and I thought I'd help your channel out a little more thank you again sir for your videos I look forward to the next fun adventure
Niiiice. Great fish. And I am behind your reaction to the boaters 100%. Common courtesy is all it takes. People just like those are one of the reasons I now spend very little time in my kayak. Keep up the good work bud. You have come a long way since you and I first started chatting. Great job Justin.
For the people who say he acted inappropriately, those boats were way to close to him making such big wake. In the boaters course it says that when coming up on a kayaker you should slow down and cause little wake to avoid any accident.
I can totally relate to your reaction to the wake boats. Out west in Utah I will be fishing in my Hobie enjoying a nice quiet evening on the water then the wake boats show up blasting obscene music turned up to 11 and do passes every 5 minutes within 50 yards because the lake is so small. I think everyone should be able to enjoy the water, but some people make it impossible for others to catch some fish. Love the Channel and keep up the good work.
Glad you survived the boaters. I remember I was bay fishing back a few years ago in Aransas Bay, south Texas near a rock pile. One of those big sportfisher yachts went by kicking up a wake in a no wake zone, nearly swamped the small center console we were in. I remember the front of the boat where I was at dropped out from under me a good 2 feet when the wake hit, I nearly toppled over the side except I grabbed the chair just in time. People like this should have their butts fined heavily for not being safe around others.
Man, this is the biggest reason I got a boat! Last weekend I was out on the river and had a 40 pound blue hooked up on a light setup, it was hard to do much with it. A boat came within 15 yards of me while I was fighting it, easily going 30mph. 🤦 So many people that have boats don't deserve them, douchebags. No respect for kayakers.
I've been looking for this video since you mentioned it in one or maybe two of your videos. Safety of the water is key for everyone. I've seen boaters who don't care about anyone but themselves. Common curiosity would be to slow down rather or not your a wake free zone or not. It seems to be that folks in kayaks, canoes, and even those that are on the bank fishing tend to become targets for these boat drivers and they ruin it for everyone else.
Please always keep yourself safe and healthy!!! Nice blue's! I pray your girl friend gets better soon. You and I have some things in common. Speed boaters are idiots. Thank you again for always making my day!!!! God bless you Justin!
Glad they're not picking you out of their prop. I'm really believing the umbrella helped them to see you. I think that must be some kind of go-fast boat club. For some of them it's like a sport to swamp little boats. Happy you're OK and thanks for the video.

I've never had quite that many cig boats buzz me. Jet ski's, yup. Definitely a sign to pack it up. While I can agree that they should get to share the water too, when they deliberately buzz you, or try to swamp you... I hate them.
