This is one of the few piano pieces that is actually pretty good for beginners who want to improve but yet still sound beautiful. All the songs for beginners from anime/ video games all seem sort of dumbed down and no one really thinks it's a treat to listen to. This on the other hand is still beautiful simply because the original was so simple.

So far I have both hands down fairly well for the first few parts, but I haven't had much time to practice. I was gonna be getting the Yamaha P-115 because the piano I'm currently practicing on is a piece of junk lol.
Hah. It's been a while since I've checked this comment out. There have been many times I've gotten frustrated over things I can't play. I'm still struggling with that lol, but finding a way to motivate yourself is the key to success. Also, a way I find it easier to memories and play the right fingerings for a song is to break it into very small sections and play those to get them down, then connect them all up. Rinse and repeat that a few times and you'll find it getting easier by the minute. Also one more side note: Learn how to read sheet music. I know it is fairly tedious and boring, but in the end it pays off a lot more. Once you can read sheets and know which note on the paper corresponds to the keys of the piano, it starts to make much more sense than a watching a synthesia.
Everyone has a different opinion, I was just saying to learn sheets in case you want to do anything like "Call Your Name" from Attack on Titan. That has a lot of the three hand technique in it and with sheets it makes it a bit easier. It is all up to the person who is playing though, so it would be good to know what you want to do first then decide whether you want to learn how to read sheet music or not.
oh damn I remember this song, it was one of my beginning songs right in the first month of starting piano, and I've never watched the anime but I found the song really beautiful. such a nostalgic arrangement

Beginner question: what is the recommended approach and fingering for right hand at 1:53? When I try to keep my pinky on high G (to avoid jumping/changing hand position), I can barely reach the E with my thumb and it feels really uncomfortable. Should I just take my time to learn precision and treat it as a jump?
I don't know how big your hands are, but the easiest way to play it is 1 2 and then 5. So first 2 notes is the thumb and index finger and the 3rd (so the high G) is the pinky. Highly recommend watching the original video to see the hand positioning; ruclips.net/video/-ldmzzkdLKk/видео.html

why is the midi different from the actual song?
This midi is pretty close to the original in my opinion :O. The transcriber did a great job >3
