Love your reaction. I'm 63 and I first heard this song on the radio while driving down a highway (1975). I literally pulled into a parking lot to listen to the entire song. It blew me away. I don't remember where I was going but I changed plans and went to the nearest record store ( on the good old days they actually had record stores) and bought the album. I then went home and listened to it with my Koss headphones full volume. I skipped school the next day and listened to it over and over ALL DAY. It was like a sledgehammer hitting me over and over and THIS ALBUM inspired me to become a pro musician. It's AMAZING to see reactions to Queen and other bands/musicians by young people today from an era when I was a young man. It's a different world today and in many ways the music world was much better in the 1960's thru the 1980's... Enjoy and check out these other tunes by Queen: It's Late, Another One Bites the Dust, Mustapha, We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions, Crazy Little Thing Called Love...
Hello Bob......Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!!!!! Your life experience. It really means a lot to all of us who love Queen and Freddie. Greetings from Greece 👑💫👏👑👑👑
@@gracielahonig Hello to my friend from Argentina who lives in Rio🌹🌹🌹 It is good to know you my friend 🌸 We all have something in common: our love for Freddie and Queen 👑👑👑
In high school(I'm Australian, so education levels are different from USA/UK schools) I studied music. I went out with the music teachers daughter and introduced her to Queen. The teacher after hearing her daughter play this music, continually bought them up in class. Later in life I went back as an adult student to finish high school & wrote a 1000-word essay on this song in the music class and got a A++ for my mark
There is nothing better than the WTF confused look of somebody listening to Bohemian Rhapsody for the first time as it goes from soft ballad to opera to heavy metal and back to ballad!
Best song ever written - played by best band ever put together - sung by best lead singer our ears have ever heard. The obvious joy on your face I could watch all day long. Laugh. Please check out - You take my breath away - sung live at Hyde Park 1976. Just Freddie and his piano. The performance is astounding in its beauty and vulnerability. How can anyone bare their soul like that to tens of thousands of people?
What is so remarkable is,ALL the vocals on this video are Freddie's.They re~dubbed, and over~dubbed his voice,to get all the harmonies.A Great Man with a great voice.
Ime a 78 yr old women I went to see them twice they are the only group I know who sound just as good on stage as on record. What a show and they always did Bohemian Rhapsody .God bless Freddie 🙏😘
They made that panning effect by swinging the microphone believe it or not. This was a masterpiece for the time. Not only for the music but for the video. This was the first true video that wasn't a clip from a live performance or tv performance.
Actually there were quite a few purpose made video clips that preceded this. The very first was the Beatles Paperback writer in May 1966 - shot on 35 mm film so still looks good today. ruclips.net/video/yYvkICbTZIQ/видео.html
Listen closer. All the highs on one side, lows on the other and midrange throughout the middle. Freddys piano and main vocals, just off center. ITS A CHOIR. Each voice separated and placed EXACTLY where they wanted it between the left and right. Way more work than swinging a microphone around with that many voices (coming from 3 of the 4 members, John didn’t sing much)
Freddie is considered the best vocalist of all time and Queen was considered the best live band of all time ..they were very respectful and their fans and the fans loved them so much...LOVE OF MY LIFE, live at Wembley. Freddie just lifts his arms and the crowd of 70,000 start singing the song...He was also considered a great showman\ PLAY THE GAME, live at Miltom Keynes and NOW I'M HERE, live at Wembley and for voice perfection, WHITE QUEEN, live at the Hammersmith Odeon....
If you want to see an example of Queen at their finest, watch Queen at Live Aid 1985. Keep in mind when you're watching it that Freddie was diagnosed with laryngitis the week before, but ignored his doctor's advice to skip the concert. Bohemian Rhapsody was originally 3 songs that Freddie was working on and had the genius inspiration to combine them into this epic masterpiece. The high note you liked was the drummer, Roger Taylor.
i am 60 years old i was 15 when this song came out . it was and still is my favorite song today and to see your generation enjoying it makes it even more special. the 70s were just an awesome time for these Timeless Classic Masterpieces. If you want to listen to another 70's Masterpiece do a reaction to Paul McCartney and Wings song........."Band on the Run". Transitions in this song are amazing as well i'm sure you will love it! If you choose to do it. (Audio or Lyric) version would be best to get the full Quality of it :)
Thank you so much! This song is sooooo good! I have to hear more Queen soon. The talent is just out of this world! I've been getting a lot of suggestions for The Beatles songs, I'm excited to hear them.
If you haven't heard it, I suggest Queen's Somebody to Love LIVE in Montreal. It's one of the best live performances you'll ever hear. That and Queen's 20 minute set at the charity concert, Live Aid where they stole the show.
You MUST check out any of the Green Day videos showing the crowds singing this epic Queen song before the concert begins. It was a small opera done long before computers for the effects. Freddie would sing a part and then along with the tape for multiplying it. A long, early music video was groundbreaking as well and the whole group were gifted. The guitar player built his first one, and has a degree in Physics. The drummer is a dentist and Freddie had a Graphic arts degree. The head banging when it kicks off was the joke in Wayne's World. It's like a reflex to rock. Great review.

Freddie M one of the most charismatic, flamboyant, narsistic , performers ..( and that is ment in that best way possible ) we have ever had on this earth . Brian May with that special Queen sound.. this Rhapsody is imho one of the top 5 best songs ever made...

Hi, Like your reaction to one of music's greatest bands. I see a number of Queens songs have been mentioned in chat and I'm surprised 'The Show Must Go On' hasn't been mentioned. Freddie wrote this knowing he was dying from AIDS. Also 2017 Green Day Crowd sing Bohemian Rhapsody at Hyde Park London. This shows the love people had for Freddie and this song years after his death.
@@kailamay2278 Freddie couldn't actually stand up for too long at the time of recording 'The Show must go on' he was so ill. Still, listen to his voice.
So many young people love the harmonics, but so many pay no attention to the substance of the lyrics.. He just told you that he put his gun against someone's head and pulled the trigger. And you put on a big beaming smile.. Songs of the 60's, 70's & 80's were meant to be listened to, and to illicit an emotional feeling from you. If you don't feel the lyrics, then you are not paying close enough attention to the song itself.
Just bumped into this and yours was one of the best reactions I have seen. You were truly impressed and a bit shocked by how good they were and it came across as real and fun. 😊 I saw Queen on their first 2 American tours, first they opened for glam rock legends Mott the Hoople and shocked us all with their style and the Zeppelin like rock from the first album. It was obvious that Freddy Mercury on vocals and Brian May on guitar were special talents. The second time they were out in support of their third album, Killer Queen and were the headliner, blowing the roof off the hall and showing they were true superstars already and became one of the biggest bands ever. This song has way more than a Billion Hits on You-tube! More great queen to explore are too many to list but just search for them and plenty of awesome songs in many genres of rock will come up, they truly were like Led Zeppelin in that their songs don't sound the same but have their own incredible style no matter what they do. 2 of my favorites are old rockers Keep Yourself Alive and Liar. Enjoy! 😎 Vic in the Berkshires.
@@kailamay2278 Queen were utterly amazing, true pop culture Ikons. Try their live Liar video from 1974 or Brighton Rock sometime for more incredible tunes from one of the best. You were nice to watch Kai and hope to see more from you. Rock On. 🎸
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is Freddie Mercury’s masterpiece or opus if you will. Released in 1975 by the British band Queen!! One of the top selling artists of all time!! Bohemian Rhapsody just got certified Diamond sales status by the RIAA for the most streamed song of the 20th Century. Diamond sales status is 10x Platinum. It is the first song pre 1990s to reach over a billion views on RUclips. Definitely on a course to 2 billion!! Freddie (lead vocals) is still considered the #1 rock vocalist in the world. Researchers from Austria, Czech, & Sweden studied Freddie’s voice & proved why Freddie’s voice is the most unique in Rock n Roll. Other band members are - Brian May, Roger Taylor, & John Deacon.👑👑👑👑 👑A lot of Queenies out there! Do SOMEBODY TO LOVE next the live versions from Montreal 1981 & Milton Keynes 1982. Just subbed loved your reaction!! 👏👏

Thanks, Kai - I enjoyed your reaction - you clearly know something about music and harmonies -- I don'[t have much to add to what others have said below -- just hope to see you react to appreciate more Queen -- regards!
Fun fact: those opening harmonies were only Freddie. He multi-tracked his own voice 🎶 👨🏻🦱. And the panning is so cool. Whenever I see people reacting without headphones I know they'll miss all of the "clever bits" as Freddie would say... Lovely reaction!
"Waynes World" introduced this song to a lot of people. In a way, by putting in that tape of an almost 20 year old song, Wayne is almost single handedly responsible for the popularity of "Bohemian Rapsody" today.
Oh ya I remember the trailer for Wayne's World and thisbsong was in it. For sure introduced Queen to the younger generation. You should do a reaction to their Live Aid concert.
Great reaction and review. You should check out 'Somebody To Love' live in Montreal 1981, by them, and then the set that they did for 'Live Aid'. Queen: Freddie Mercury, Lead vocals, Piano and guitar; Brian May, Lead guitar and backing vocals; Roger Taylor, Drummer and backing vocals; John Deacon, Bass guitar and backing vocals. I hope that this helps, there are many great tracks by them some that you're sure to know and will have heard.
@@kailamay2278 Thanks for your reply. Freddie and the band were such a great collective talent, the band have tried to go on since Freddie's death but, it hasn't been the same. They had so many well known and successful tracks, their record company brought out a 'Greatest Hits' compilation which ran to three CDs because of how many hits that they had. You'll really love their performances, particularly the live ones. Anyway, thank you once again, I'll look forward to your reactions to their stuff and your other reactions too.
When I was a dumb little kid we teased bout Freddy being so flamboyantly gay but as I matured I grew a ton of respect for his talent and the greatness of this band. Nothing like watching a beauty like yourself jam to some of the greatest music ever. That being said “ Fat bottom girls” is a fun banger by them and a tribute like sir mixalot
Queen are brilliant Live, some songs you have do watch Live are "somebody to love" live at Montreal 81, "White Queen" live at the Odean Hammersmith 75 & "Under Pressure" live at Wembley
A rhapsody in music is a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colour, and tonality. An air of spontaneous inspiration and a sense of improvisation make it freer in form than a set of variations. The word rhapsody is derived from the Greek: ῥαψῳδός, rhapsōidos, a reciter of epic poetry (a rhapsodist),
Interesting fact, Freddie Mercury was born with I believe 4 extra teeth which apparently changes your vocal ranges and capacities etc due to extra space in the mouth or something along them lines. Unfortunately I'm not an ENT expert lol. The bit you recognise was the scene in Waynes World in the car lol, great scene.
Bands of that day used stereo as part of the art they were making. The Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd and so many others were masters at the stereo effects thing. That’s why headphones are so critical with progressive bands. Queen did more intense songs before this. Queen 2 album had the “Black Side”. It was full of operatic vocals, guitar and drums that blows this out of the water! Try “MARCH OF THE BLACK QUEEN” (studio version), you’ll be impressed to say the least.
The harmonies were really just layered tracks of Freddy Mercury. The guitarist, by the way, went on to get a PhD in astrophysics... just because he wanted to.
@@kailamay2278 He was actually picking up where he left off. They were all at college/university when they met, though Brian and Roger (the drummer) were already friends and in a band called Smile. Brian has worked with NASA though, so he knows his stuff!
Rhapsody is a characteristic musical piece of romanticism composed of different thematic parts freely united and without any relationship between them. This song recreates the myth of "Faust" in four blocks. The ballad, where he confesses a murder to his mother, and says goodbye to her. The Opera buffa, where the judgment of his soul is recreated, where angels and demons discuss condemnation or forgiveness. The Rock part, where the Devil makes his plea, saying that he cannot escape his sentence, nor live a life dedicated to evil, and then pretend to betray him, with excuses such as that he has had an unjust life. And the final section, where he reflects, and does not care about condemnation or forgiveness, since he has always lived according to the circumstances or how the wind turned ... (Leaving to free interpretation, according to the lyrics or classical musical language, that Freddie knew a lot about that, if he was convicted or saved)
You have a great reaction on that. Indeed a classic I remember when this album came out. You mentioned you like guitar play if you want to hear the greatest guitar solo’s you’ve got to listen to Lynard Skynard Free Bird live at Oakland Stadium in 77. May the original band members R.I.P from the plane crash a little over 3 months after this concert.
Queen to do list: Stone cold crazy -live at the rainbow White Queen Live Hammersmith Killer Queen official video Don't Stop me now official video Someone to love - Live Montreal Fat bottom Girls official video I want to break free official video Live Aid!!
I like hearing and seeing how people Analyse and react differently to each and every song. Some hear the song in its entirety without any interruptions. And some want to hear it in its entirety and break the song down as it progresses. However these song should be heard with good quality headphones.
@@kailamay2278 ya a great pair of headphones makes all the difference. Bohemian Rhapsody is very interesting song. And How this masterpiece received any airplay is beyond me. Don't get me wrong I'm glad it did. However, the question I have is this. Do you think it would receive any AirPlay today on the radio if it was released for the first time in 2020?

Freddie M one of the most charismatic, flamboyant, narsistic , performers ..( and that is ment in that best way possible ) we have ever had on this earth . Brian May with that special Queen sound.. this Rhapsody is imho one of the top 5 best songs ever made...
Aww I love that!! This song is AMAZING!
You cannot love it it's amasterpiece has 1.2 billion views the best song ever written inthe rock history by the great front man ever existed freddie the musical genius and yes iknow his voice is insane outstanding 👏 and ye more queen great reaction 👏
Heyy! Thanks for the suggestion. I definitely have to hear from Queen! I am curious to hear where he went with his final song.
@@kailamay2278 Freddie couldn't actually stand up for too long at the time of recording 'The Show must go on' he was so ill. Still, listen to his voice.
One of the greatest songs ever written.
Good music makes me happy!... the way he sang that line made me smile because I was surprised.
You must react to this song live in Montreal, 6 years later..it is soooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only one of the Best bands in History! loved them since 1973 Great reactions!
Thanks love. Couldn't agree more!
You've been Freddie'd! He owned the stage! If you've seen the movie Wayne's World, it's the song they are head-banging to in the vehicle!
Best male vocalist I've ever heard
You are so right I can even hear in my phone minus headphones. In the 70’s there was stereo.
Thank you so much!! This song was awesome to listen, so many surprises and the talent was just so impressive. Damn!!
Thank you so much! I just found out that "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" are Queen songs. They are sooo damn good!!! There are on a next level!!! I love this song!!!
@@kailamay2278 You’d be surprised at how many songs you know that are written by Queen: THE SHOW MUST GO ON, UNDER PRESSURE, ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST, I WANT IT ALL (commercials) …. 😁 You’re gonna love your journey!!
Thanks, Kai - I enjoyed your reaction - you clearly know something about music and harmonies -- I don'[t have much to add to what others have said below -- just hope to see you react to appreciate more Queen -- regards!
Thank you so much love! Definitely have to hear more Queen!
Great reaction!❤
The bassline from " Ice Ice Baby " was sampled from Queen's "Under Pressure ",a duet with David Bowie. A #1 hit.
I have to hear it now
Fun fact: those opening harmonies were only Freddie. He multi-tracked his own voice 🎶 👨🏻🦱. And the panning is so cool. Whenever I see people reacting without headphones I know they'll miss all of the "clever bits" as Freddie would say... Lovely reaction!
Wow! He is sooooo talented! Thanks love
Coming soon is one of my favourite songs because it has a simple choir and a powerful Freddie's voice so I think you'll like it too
"Waynes World" introduced this song to a lot of people. In a way, by putting in that tape of an almost 20 year old song, Wayne is almost single handedly responsible for the popularity of "Bohemian Rapsody" today.
A couple people mentioned that movie but I haven't seen it. Is it good? Has awesome music at the very least
@@kailamay2278 Party on, Kai! It's got a lot of immature, teenage boy type humor, so, yeah, I liked it!
Oh ya I remember the trailer for Wayne's World and thisbsong was in it. For sure introduced Queen to the younger generation.
You should do a reaction to their Live Aid concert.
Freddie Mercury had one of the best singing voices ever
I'm 66 and glad you like it, tis awesome.
You'll love "princes of the universe" and "I want it all".
Great reaction and review.
You should check out 'Somebody To Love' live in Montreal 1981, by them, and then the set that they did for 'Live Aid'.
Queen:
Freddie Mercury, Lead vocals, Piano and guitar;
Brian May, Lead guitar and backing vocals;
Roger Taylor, Drummer and backing vocals;
John Deacon, Bass guitar and backing vocals.
I hope that this helps, there are many great tracks by them some that you're sure to know and will have heard.
Thank you so much!! I just just out I know a couple of their tracks but I didn't know it was them. They are soo talented. Love this song!!!
Freddie Mercury globally recognized as the best male performer of all times
You started dancing in your seat at 5:48. Suggest that you view the clip of "Bohemian Rhapsody" which appears in the movie "Wayne's World".
Queen are brilliant Live, some songs you have do watch Live are "somebody to love" live at Montreal 81, "White Queen" live at the Odean Hammersmith 75 & "Under Pressure" live at Wembley
Ich finde deine Dynamik einfach wundervoll! Ich mag deine Ausstrahlung! So ein schönes Lächeln...😘
you should watch their song "somebody to love" live in montreal 1981
A rhapsody in music is a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colour, and tonality. An air of spontaneous inspiration and a sense of improvisation make it freer in form than a set of variations.
The word rhapsody is derived from the Greek: ῥαψῳδός, rhapsōidos, a reciter of epic poetry (a rhapsodist),
Never never ever interrupt a Brian May guitar solo.
Jesus give her a break
I thought that rule only applied to David Gilmour
3:44 Brian May wrote the guitar solo
😬😬
Queen is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you are adorable
“Who wants to live forever” is a really good song from Queen you might enjoy reacting to
Reminds me of Wayne’s world
Great reactions Kai🇨🇦❤️
Thanks love
Freddie's voice is gorgeous in Love of My Life...
Nice your reaction. I'm queen fans.. ❤❤
Awesome! Thanks love. I'm sure I will be impressed, this song is crazy good!!
Masterpiece.
Freddy will have been passed 30 years this November. Just a thought or a experience. Thank you for what you gave
For me one of the best Queen songs. If you like surprising transitions, you might also like "Heart Of The Sunrise" from YES's live album Yessongs.
The harmonies were really just layered tracks of Freddy Mercury. The guitarist, by the way, went on to get a PhD in astrophysics... just because he wanted to.
What?! That is amazing! What can't they do...I need to up my game LOL
@@kailamay2278 He was actually picking up where he left off. They were all at college/university when they met, though Brian and Roger (the drummer) were already friends and in a band called Smile.
Brian has worked with NASA though, so he knows his stuff!
It's called Rock Opera. The song was used in lots of things including the movie Wayne's World
nah it's not
the song is progressive rock with an operatic section.
Houlalaaa...what a beauty!!
Thanks love
Rhapsody is a characteristic musical piece of romanticism composed of
different thematic parts freely united and without any relationship
between them. This song recreates the myth of "Faust" in four blocks.
The ballad, where he confesses a murder to his mother, and says goodbye
to her. The Opera buffa, where the judgment of his soul is recreated,
where angels and demons discuss condemnation or forgiveness. The Rock
part, where the Devil makes his plea, saying that he cannot escape his
sentence, nor live a life dedicated to evil, and then pretend to betray
him, with excuses such as that he has had an unjust life. And the final
section, where he reflects, and does not care about condemnation or
forgiveness, since he has always lived according to the circumstances or
how the wind turned ... (Leaving to free interpretation, according to
the lyrics or classical musical language, that Freddie knew a lot about
that, if he was convicted or saved)
Rock anthem at its highest form .
A top Queen song is the LIVE version of "Somebody To Love" performed in Montreal in 1981.
Thanks love, I'll add that one to my list. Queen is so talented!!!
Awesome! Thanks love. I definitely want to hear amazing guitar solos
This would be a very interesting version: Menopause Rhapsody - Bohemian Rhapsody Parody Song for every Queen
Queen to do list:
Stone cold crazy -live at the rainbow
White Queen Live Hammersmith
Killer Queen official video
Don't Stop me now official video
Someone to love - Live Montreal
Fat bottom Girls official video
I want to break free official video
Live Aid!!
Thanks love!!! I definitely have to hear more Queen
I like hearing and seeing how people Analyse and react differently to each and every song. Some hear the song in its entirety without any interruptions. And some want to hear it in its entirety and break the song down as it progresses. However these song should be heard with good quality headphones.
I did finally invest in some better headphones.
White Queen Odeon Hammersmith 1975
amazing reaction
