i remember seeing them with a group of friends back in 2015 we seen them play live in Toronto and i was like i want to get upfront with the stage so i can feel snake sweat kid you not i literally was touching hands with the dude during a song he was a pretty fkning cool dude i loved it
Voivod is probably one of the 2 bands on this channel with the drummer (Away) as the only constant member, with Deep Purple (Ian Paice) being the other.
I remember buying my 1st cassette of these guys in the mid 80s and just hating it! I felt the same w Ministry too, but grew to love them, Voivod, just couldn't do it😖
The bands so far 1. Annihilator 2. Candlemass 3. Exciter 4. Death Angel 5. Voivod 6. Kiss (Ale Yanok said in Nichola Hibbins morph's comment that Kiss is next) The remaining bands are Manowar and Electric Wizard. 3 Thrash bands (Annihilator, Death Angel and Voivod) and 2 Doom bands (Candlemass and Electric Wizard) in one compilation.
this is an honest question, not an attempt rip them. Metallica goes from songs like Metal Militia and Fight Fire With Fire to songs like Until it Sleeps and The Memory Remains and they are called sellouts. Voivod goes from songs like Warriors of Ice and Blower to songs like Panorama and Twin Dummy and they an not considered sell outs. both bands seems to have gone from unbridled thrash to clean radio friendly songs, yet only one is considered the sell out. what is the real difference here?? again, not trying to rip the band or be edgy, just curious.
I guess black album sounded more mainstream and had better production than angel rat, and angel rat still sounds different even though it is less heavy and not thrash at all. That's just what I think
@@AleYanok Chewy appears as Infini is playing which is Piggy's riffs, that's what I meant. But if you are doing it by year I suppose it's just a bit confusing having the albums showing as well.
@@dannyblitz2122 Yes you are probably right about that but the music that plays in the background doesn't always sync up to the year, as long as each song is chronological and generally in the right place (like chaosmongers playing in 1989 but it was close to the time of dimension hatross). And yeah it was Piggy's stuff on infini but chewy joined around the time of its release, sorry for any confusion

I was mostly into queensryche tool and kreator
Voivod took me a while to get into when I first listened to them but Dimension Hatross, roar, debut, Killing technology, even Angel rat are all great
