  • Lone Star Hiking Trail Day 1
Trailhead 1 to Osborn Rd; 11 Miles
This video is a lot longer than I anticipated, but I am still learning =) We had a great first day. The trail ended up being mud most of the way which made for a very long day.

I was checking the LSHT videos and came across yours. Really enjoy watching you and Bubba Nader on the first section on the trail. Last time I was there was in March, about the same time y'all are hiking the trail. The section I was on was about mile 70, the trail was completely under water. As you know lots of rain in Texas this year. Looking forward to watching your other videos.

I’ve done that section. It was so cool to watch you do it. That register thing wasn’t there, or I didn’t see it when we did that section. Amy Hikes

Excited to watch your journey through LSHT. 1st video was fun to watch. Show us your campsites in the future videos. Maybe tell us the day and date. Thanks. Your son walks too fast. Tell him to slow down and enjoy the scenery LOL

LOL I have tried telling him, but he is just like my husband. Once they start going, the goooooo. Thanks for the tips I definitely will! We got off the trail Tuesday evening due to impending possible severe weather, but are heading back out tomorrow to finish. Just now getting a chance to upload the first 4 days. I also meant to do an end of the day recap for each video but totally forget (well fell asleep lol).

Nutty hiker, nothing you do in Texas is going to prepare you for blood mountain and that’s just a small small steppingstone until you get north of Virginia

Out there when seconds count in any emergency hiking teams should always be in sight or hearing distance from each other.there are animals in there that can at any opportune time grab and drag off a hiker before they or other parties realize what's going on and it's too late.i am a full grown man but I never go on those trails with out my sidearm. "too many horror stories about Texas state parks and national forestlands to take any chances with your own safety in there .

I have to laugh because the maps provided on the LSHT website are worthless. Maybe ok if you've been here a few times. Otherwise....good luck.
