I know that Japanese as a language works very differently that English, so the swearing could be just Japanese writers not being fully aware of the vulgarity of these words, but maybe they were legit unsure whether to make this a kids game or a parody of some sorts and they just went "fuck it" and did both things at once. I couldn't wrap my head around it back then, and I still can barely do so now - HOW did this game happen? WHO MADE THIS? It was clearly made in Japan, had all the leanings of a Japanese absurdist comedy in a cutsey super-deformed style, something along the lines Super Milk-Chan, and yet the ENTIRE game is in English with only subtitles for Japanese speakers. On top of that, the script itself is perfectly adequate when it comes to the fluency of the English, which tells me that at least one of the people in charge of directing this entire thing HAD to be a native English speaker living in Japan. I would so love for somebody who was at the heart of this game's conception to come forward and explain just what the HELL was going on at the studio at the time, it would be such a fascinating topic.

Im no gamer so it was interesting hearing about the run down of this company and how its changed so much. That opening scene reminded me so much of that Who Framed Roger Rabbit scene with Eddie driving into toontown now i wanna see some character like Nathan Drake go thru Poinhell

It's crazy how many references this game tried to fit in (especially to popular songs), that it is reaaally surprising to think it was never released officially in English.

I played through this to completion recently; I can't believe how absolutely fucking bizarre this game is, but man, does this game have some banger songs. Also the difference in voice acting is staggering, which is made weirder by this being an 'in house' translation. Like, Lolo is so much less annoying in japanese, I'm curious about the choices... But oh well. Yippie yo.

So glad to see this game get a bigger spotlight, first heard of it years back from Did You Know Gaming's Region Locked episode on it. The game being fully translated in english while also not being localized always allured me. Played it last year and thought it was a fun & weird little game.
    Great vid🐊

I miss the times with Legend of Dragoon, Twisted Metal, Dark Cloud, Gravity Rush, ICO, Shadow of the Collosus games i miss the AA games. They where cheaper experimental, original and pallet cleansers. But with gaming going mainstream, CEO's having the dollar signs in their eyes and the worst thing gamers going for the same shit over and over I think we are screwed.
