- Schäfler Mountain Hut in Switzerland has to be the most beautiful place to stay. Schäfler Ridge is located in the Appenzell region of Switzerland. From Wasserauen you will take the gondola up to Ebenalp. Here you hike 1 hour up to Schafler Hut to take in the most insane sunet of your life. After sleeping overnight, you will head on an epic hike alone the ridgeline down to Seealpsee Lake. Schafler Ridge Hike has to be one of the best things to do in Switzerland

How soon did you need to book or were you able to book an overnight stay?
We booked 2 days prior to arriving! It looks like they closed down the reservations for the season but it should be back up soon @@tracythomas5855

Amazing hike in Appenzel love that area, it is the hiking meca of the world. Wonderful video with the views, typical food and rustic accommodation. I remember a hut that our whole group slept in sleeping bags on the floor…not comfortable…it’s all about the adventure.

We stayed there the beginning of July! I’m not sure how the weather is in May but even June & July had cloudy and rainy days
That van you guys saw was actually a Ford Transit Connect, just like the van you travelled in America with. The one shown in the video has the low roof & the short wheelbase, which were options that were not available for the North American version of the first generation Ford Transit Connect, just the long wheelbase & the high roof were offered. Also, that van could've been called the Tourneo Connect, since it looked like it was a passenger van with windows all around it.
