@davidpanken To be fair, it's tough to tell since some people think that team lineages are the same team despite rebrandings (e.g. Renault and Alpine, Tyrell and Mercedes, Toro Rosso and VCARB, Stewart and Red Bull), whereas others consider them different teams entirely.
@@davidpanken If they are counting Leclerc as Sauber then it is the same as Gasly for Renault since Alpine is part of Renault, they just decided to rebrand the team into Alpine, probably partly to promote their revival of the Alpine range, so it is no different than Alpha Tauri being Toro Rosso, or Sauber being Alfa Romeo. Button wouldn't count for Mercedes since Mercedes bought the team rather than rebranding the team.
@@llpalm08 First of all, in what world did Charles not drive for Sauber? Starting off like that ruins everything you’re saying lol. Anyways, we have to draw a line somewhere. F1 did it as ‘the name the constructor is registered as’. If a constructor starts racing under a new name, achievements and records start from 0. You may not agree with it, that’s all fine, but no one cares, because that’s how they do it. And I do agree with it, because again, where else should we draw the line? Buying? Rebranding? Loaning? In between sales? Do the teams take over the parts, employees and drivers as well? Is that allowed? Is RB still Minardi? Is Alpine the same as Lotus and Benetton? Is Tyrell the same team as BAR, Honda, Brawn and Mercedes? No?-Then what is the same team and what is not? Better to just make it simple and go with the constructor names. I’m not looking for hypothetical answers, I’m simply telling you that this is the way they do it, so you just gotta accept it.
Got 1 wrong (Haas). Oh you should do a similar quiz, but don't show the team name or any other clue. Basically become an odd one out quiz. Eg: Romain Grosjean Nico Hülkenberg Kimi Räikkönen Pastor Maldonado Answer: Kimi Räikkönen - he's the only one who have raced in the V10 era
doesn't make sens : Gasly drive for Alpine which is Renault, Button for Brawn which is Mercedes so they are impostors but Hulk never actually drove for AM but for RP
Alpine is not the same as Renault. Same as Honda and Brawn not being the same as Mercedes. They may have the same people and staff, but the team name is different, so technically they didn’t race for the team. Seb tested positive at the start of 2022 and Nico replaced him, racing in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia for Aston Martin. And yes, he also raced for Racing Point (in 2020), at Silverstone and the Nürburgring. So yes, it does make sense.
@@jordanblair4077 Mercedes bought the brawn GP team for 2010. Like hi red bull purchased jaguar in 2004. Or how loutus f1 bought and sold the team from and to Renault.

@@jordanblair4077 I am saying buying a team is like relocating a sports franchise. It’s still the same team just under new management so by that brawn is different ownership of the Mercedes team. I can say kimi raced for the Renault team as his lotus days were the same team different sponsors.
@@munaclassic4020 No, you cannot. He drove for “Lotus F1”. The same way Button drove for “Brawn GP”. It doesn’t matter who owned the team, it wasn’t called “Renault”, “Mercedes”, etc.

I have a video idea: Which driver has this number (so driver numbers from 2023-2015 for example)
yea that would be good
20/20😏😎
Technically, Gasly drove for the same team as Renault (albeit as Alpine). Same with Button and Mercedes (albeit as Honda and Brawn)
Technically, no.

Technically speaking the Lotus Kovalainen drove for is not the same lotus as Kimi’s
