    Always thought the riot armor, the elite armor in particular, was so badass I find myself not even bothering with power armor anymore in New Vegas.

    You can get resin, fiberglass, bondo, etc. at most hardware stores and usually Walmart has them as well.

  • @smokedblades6602

    i would buy it for 800 $ If it was like metal or kevlar...

    • @notthesoap6156
      @notthesoap6156 10 лет назад +2

      A standard helmet made of kevlar is around $800 let alone a full faced one.

      Not The Soap K Well i have 1500 saved up. i want a metal helmet that looks just like this

    • @notthesoap6156
      @notthesoap6156 10 лет назад

      SmokedBlades If it was aluminum it would be around $500 I'm guessing but it wouldn't stop any bullets.

  • @MrSquarehead97
    @MrSquarehead97 11 лет назад

    It's great, one thing I would consider though is adding some kind of weather effect to the antenna because the rest of the helm is faded, but the antenna is very shiny. But once again, It's amazing, very creative.

    Nicely done. I was looking for ideas because I'm building one from scratch, but I'm using my uncle's workshop and building a functional metal one, with your idea for flashlights but adding a laser, etc

  • @xXBocephusXx

    @TheAltec93 Thanks. I don't know how much cardboard I used. At least several Priority mail boxes most likely. And that's why it stayed together as I was making it. Priority mail boxes are thin and strong. As for a blueprint, I didn't use one but I believe there is a pepakura file out there somewhere. Try The Wasteland Outpost. They are working on getting the new forums up but when they do it might be there.

  • @MeIduce
    @MeIduce 10 лет назад

    I was really impressed with what you've made just using cardboard!
    A tip for other helmet builds is getting the plastic liner from the old M1 steel helmet. They were used by most NATO ground forces up until the mid 1980s so every surplus shop have them. It's a plastic "inner" helmet complete with padding. It's easy to work with and fits much better than, say, the Vader helmet! ;o) You find them on the net for about 20.00$.

    Just a suggestion: perhaps build some greeble/module to house the base of the aerial. It looks a little bit weird just sitting there like that.
    Otherwise, this helmet looks great.

    A LOT OF TIME INVOLVED , GREAT WORK!!

  • @xXBocephusXx
    @xXBocephusXx  12 лет назад

    Yeah, I'd say a week or so to make one of these helmets. It really depends on how fast you work, how much experience you have, and how perfect you want it. As for the body armor I can only guess because I still haven't finished it. Probably about a bit less than the helmet. The supplies you need depend on what you have lying around the house, what you can forgo, etc. Just watch all my tutorials and you should have a list of what you need.

  • @xXBocephusXx
    @xXBocephusXx  13 лет назад

    @DirtySanchez728 No. I don't recommend using these type of helmets for airsoft because they could crack or shatter and the eye lenses are not strong enough to withstand airsoft or paintball bullets.

  • @xXBocephusXx
    @xXBocephusXx  13 лет назад

    @sotik It takes a while to make one of these but there are different ways to make them. I used cardboard and the whole resin, fiberglass, and bondo processes on this one but if I did it again I would sculpt most of it from clay and then mold it. Using cardboard is cheaper though.

  • @jeremyknop5378
    @jeremyknop5378 3 года назад

    I really really like that you made it using epoxy resin and bondo. Nothing particularly wrong with the eva foam builds but myself i far prefer some more robust and rigid and durable like what you've built here. Only real upgrade you could have done for maximum durability would have been to use fiberglass cloth and resin over top the cardboard but I tip my hat to you sir, absolutely amazing build. Good job.
    I wonder do you intend to use a similar construction for building the vest? That would be very awesome to see done.

    I like the customization, but the 7 was for luck being the most likely total of a 2 d6 roll, and the 42 was for the answer to life the universe and everything.
