Hi there, which resort would you recommend between Allegro and this Occidental? Considering, rooms, kids facilities, beach, food, service? I’d appreciate so much if you could answer, considering you know both. Thank you!
Rooms: At Occidental, we paid extra and stayed in the Royal Club room, which was lovely and MUCH better than Allegro. We met some at Allegro who had leaks and plumbing repairs going on during their stay, including holes connecting two units. We had good luck at Allegro so we were happy, but we LOVED the room at the Occidental. Kids: Really only one pool for kids at the Occidental because the other was adults only. Allegro has 3 pools: One has slides and simple stuff for kids, and another is usually deserted and good for swimming lengths. The third is packed with drinkers, and matches the big pool at the Occidental, although the Occidental also has volleyballs whipping around you need to watch for. Beach: Occidental's is good. Allegro's is, in our opinion, great. Sandy and largely free of seaweed. No fish, but it's easy to get in and out, good depth for kids, and you can swim without going out too far. Food: Neither is all that great. Allegro tends to be simpler and they severely limit the number of visits to special restaurants. But if you go in with modest expectations and if you come from a lower-middle class background like me, you'll always find something to eat. Royal Club at Occidental included a special restaurant downstairs that was a level above, and the room service (included) had many American-style choices. Hard to forgive: The frozen yogurt machine at Allegro was ready to serve only once in a while. Usually a soupy mess came out. Service: Always kind and polite, unfailingly helpful. Again, my simple background allows me to be easily impressed. I felt Allegro's staff was so friendly, and I was a bit shocked by the serious faces at Secrets just down the road. Some random comments for you.
Hoy es 25 de mayo y regrese de unas muy lamentables vacaciones en allegro cozumel ....la comida es poco menos que mala....solo hay hamburguesas con ensalada y el pan congelado....goteras por todos lados ...una cantidad de mosquitos absurda y muy ponzoñosos... Sobrecupo es increible que nos vendan paquetes caros y luego los rematen a los Estados vecinos en precios de remate ...eso es una gran grosería. ..me forme 20 minutos para una bebida y la alberca era peor que acapulco.....los peores 7 días de mi vida realmente me quedo corto ....el trato no fue malo ...pero los servicios una verdadera pena es de 3 estrellas o menos
