im confused by these workouts, the first one is just 23 minutes total at little bit above FTP, and the second one is just 36min of tempo, isn't it too easy?
What's your weight? Wouldn't you see a more significant increase in performance with losing weight rather than gaining power? If you were already down to 6-15% BF then I could see this being more applicable.
6% bf would probably reduce performance. It's very hard to do aerobic work when bodyfat goes below 10-12%. And w/kg is only more important than raw wattage going up fairly steep hills. On flat ground, weight has minimal impact on speed.
For me, I like using ZWO Factory because with Zwift you have to login to the app as if you were about to start a ride. Followers start getting notifications that you are riding and you start getting Ride Ons when all you are there for is to add or tweak a workout. ZWO files area also compatible with RGT Cycling, so you can build workouts here if you use that app instead of Zwift.
As long as you can create the workouts and load them into Zwift (or create directly in Zwift) on another device then they will appear within the Apple TV app. You cannot create or upload custom workouts on the Apple TV itself.
Hello Taren, thanks for the Video. I am wondering if it ain't too much stress on your bopy to be doing all this intense strength training? I am more of a fitness guy, but I am curious about Triathlon and I constantly get the impression that you guys love training A LOT... When you look at training in the gym the typical recommendation is to rest between 48-72 hours between your workouts. If you do split training you can do things like push pull leg and do this 6x a week, since you do leg training for example only 2x a week. Watching your video I see intense cycling followed by strength training followed by intense cycling again. On top of this you also do Yoga. Do you only do stretches here or do you do poses that require a lot of core strength as well? What about swimming and running? Do you skip these for the time being? I am sure that pro Triathletes do a shit ton of training, but I think they sleep and relax (for real, like just lying on the couch and watching Netflix) a ton as well. Also their fitness level is a lot higher than your average joes. So, my question basically is: Don't you think you overtrain? :) Cheers
I ride 6 times a week, been training for 2 years now, wen’t from around 3w ftp to 5.01 now :) Running is going great as wel, but the swimming part is hell🤯
I'm not 100% sure, but what I do is just add 1 or 2 watts to my FTP once I can complete an entire week of workouts without too much stress. Because the workouts are a percentage of your FTP, by adding one or two watts, there will be a very slight increase in effort required. Just be careful not to increase too much, as you could end up in a higher training zone that may not suitable for these particular workouts.
Started at 290ftp last year, up at 336 aiming for 350 at 78kg! On 4h/week training.
No tri tho YET ;)
What does your 4hr week look like?
@@valentinofogarty9943 I wonder that too 🤔
he is now at 450 with 1h of training @ 99kg
that has to be one of the best garages on the planet! Good indoor training advice too.
Love that ZWOfactory- that is awesome!! Thanks TT!!
Awesome video!
For the people who don't want to create workouts, the 2020 Tri workouts on Zwift from Dr P. are pretty close to these in terms of intent.
Always appreciate and learn from the content! Thank you!
I am needing to do a long run on the weekend to keep endurance up for runs. Do you suggest long ride or long run on Saturday (first)?
Thanks Taren! That was super useful!
How did you create the week chart schedule? I have been looking for something like that forever.
Looks like excel to me.
You can also do these trainings on zwift or traininpeaks which syncs with zwift. What is the benefit?
Great video keep up the good work I have an FTP test Friday😬
I didn’t see a Team Trainiac group ride on Thursday in Zwift.. Should I be looking at the events? Or just jump on and join as you ride?.
im confused by these workouts, the first one is just 23 minutes total at little bit above FTP, and the second one is just 36min of tempo, isn't it too easy?
What’s your weight?
Does Team Trainiac training provide cycling + strength training only plans? Without swim or running plans at this time.
What is your weight to ftp

why dont u just build the workouts in zwift ?

Yo TT, thoughts on doing it on aero bars vs doing it in the handle bars. Mine was 320 drops but 295 bars..
How would you upload workouts if you have an Apple TV with Zwift?
As long as you can create the workouts and load them into Zwift (or create directly in Zwift) on another device then they will appear within the Apple TV app. You cannot create or upload custom workouts on the Apple TV itself.
Great one Taren. I'm aiming for 300w in the next month as well

That's some serious w/k ! Great job dude
This is awesome. One question. Can you - or someone else - please explain the progression - you call it increasing the bias - of these intervals?

Chuck Norris?
No such thing as a bad dad joke
He needs an ftp nearer 400watts to be competitive with that amount of fat on him!
it's -34C
