É o dia do Equinócio Vernal.
Navruz literally means “The New Day” in Persian. According to the Persian solar calendar, the New Year commences on this day. Hence every year on the twenty-first of March, is always celebrated as New Year Day.
On this day the sun in its northward journey crosses the Equator and enter the Northern Hemisphere. It is the day of Vernal Equinox. The days and nights are of equal length and the Spring season commences in the Northern Hemisphere in which Persia is situated.
It brings good tidings that the days of severe winter are over and the land will soon be green again. The trees start blossoming and the farmers commence the planting of seeds. This day is the day of great hope and the expectation of sustenance (Rozi) for the entire year. Hence Rozi in the for of wheat berries and sugar crystal are distributed.
