In verse 8 , the meaning for सन्तम् is not saint. It is the dwiteeya vibakthi, eka vachanam of pratipadika सत् . It means existent. A existent Guru is what it is said in the Sri Chandrasekhara Bharathy Swami's explanation of Viveka Chudamani.
