I generally tend to stay away from the sub-teams as the original versions tend to be more iconic. Some exceptions I have made are the Tiger Force Outback (Old Man Outback is FOTY level, IMO) and this HISS Fire Team. I like how the HISS Tank is essentially its own boutique sub-line with all the figures that come with the tank, this supplemental pack, and the missile tow and HISS Techno-Viper. I half-expect Hasbro to release a HISS Baroness, HISS Crimson Guard, and HISS BAT at this point because why not?

Ha, the H.I.S.S. Baroness needs to come with rope accessories, so Serpentor can tie her to the front of the tank. (Gi joe issue 74). Hasbro won't do it, but that would be a hilarious pulse exclusive 🤣. I completely agree. The more add ons for the H.I.S.S, the better. It already commands its own shelf and is an incredible centerpiece.

I agree. It’s a great looking squad. It’s at least $10 more than it should be. I think $75 is where it should have been. I only have one big gripe in that my bazooka shell holding pack is too loose as it is not long enough to give more surface tension. It falls off regularly. That aside the Range trooper is my favorite. I didn’t army builder those guys as I see them as the most extreme loners. So I am just getting one of each color way to almost represent a spot. Range Viper red is only replaced in death, same for blue, and the eventual purple and all so on. These guys are scary. They have a mystique about them that scares Cobra Commander. Anyway. Great set. I still wish they had had pegs on HISS. The rail holding makes sense. They would just pose better with two fixed points than the one hand holding.

I had the exact same issue with the backpack. They should have put the peg hole in the middle of his back rather than higher up. I put a little bit of plastidip on the backpack peg, and that helped with grip. And you're right, the Range Viper is such a cool and aggressive looking character design. I liked the blue one, but the red one looks like something that would be terrifying to meet in the dark. Still contemplating switching the pants and gloves though, an all black and red version would be really interesting.
