I'm 38. I been listening to 'Em since he first came out. People claim that 'Em is only liked because he's white and thats just idiotic. If anything, 'Em faced more challenges when he was coming up than anybody because he was white, and he ended up blowing up in spite of the fact that he's white. He stood tall throughout the whole industry hating on him early on, and he earned every bit of respect and recognition he has received throughout his career. And he is a hip hop purest, and very humble with it. It has actually been publicly acknowledged that people will come to him saying he's the goat and he's the greatest, and he will say stuff like no, don't put me on a pedestal, go listen to Mobb Deep, go listen to KRS One, go listen to a Tribe called quest, go listen to Immortal Technique and Talib Kweli. He will put the younger generation on game to artists that inspired him when he was growing up. What some of these guys don't get is Eminem opened a whole new market to the rap industry. I grew up with friends who started listening to Eminem who then went on to discover other rap artist and listen to their music from Loyd Banks, Fat Jo, Snoop Dog etc, and that made everyone start to earn even more money in their pockets because now you have an entire generation that started listening to rap because of Eminem.

He will put the younger generation on game to artists that inspired him when he was growing up. For this reason in addition to his amazing ability to just go off on insane rhyme schemes, and doubles and triples, and the way he can just jump in and out of different Pockets even at unusual times compared to everybody else, and his ways of switching up the flow on a dime, these are the reasons that he is so liked, and why he is the GOAT.
