You get over things real quick when you need to, I like that! I've become quite frugal lately being 58 with an 11 year old to raise! You happened to come across in my feed and I think we're going to get along just fine! Keep up the great work!
I love roasted root veggies! I haven’t tried yet with honey, sounds lovely! I often do carrots, parsnips, onion, potatoes, even beets. Whatever you have. I toss with olive oil, and use dried Italian seasonings. Then cook it as you did, flipping halfway through. And that bit of charred is just extra delicious flavor!
Hello henny. Love that moss. It’s going to look great once it’s all filled in. I’m hoping you do gardening videos in the spring. Amazing to hear that Emily lived to 21 years old! 🐾 💜
The carrot and parsnip dish sounds great. I love to add both of these to roasted chicken, along with whole cloves of garlic, chunks of sweet potato and red potatoes.
Parsnips are good roasted, with beef roast, as a puréed soup…. Enjoying them was something I had to grow into lol. Seed starting saves tons! You can grow parsnips in your garden from seed like carrots and beets. Lots of great tips on cutting costs! I just got some thin sliced steak for 3$/lb on markdown so I tried freezing them in homemade marinades. We will see how they turn out🙂 I’m glad your children appreciate their momma💕
For years, in my youth, I'd get my hair cut every two or three years and donate the length. Now, it takes three years to grow nine inches. I will borrow books and cds (movies and music) from the library to see if they are worth buying.
@@kathleensmith6200 When I moved to my current place I gave a lot of the books I had to the charity thrift store. I cut back from 5 tall and two short sets of selves to one tall and a short set of shelves. But even before then if I was considering a book or a recommended author I would sample them first so I did spend money I needed elsewhere (we were pinched but never destitute thankfully).
Your doing a great job and I love chewy, I had 3labs 2 were brother and sister they were 7 when I got my last one, my boy was13 and passed and the sister was almost 15 and then my last little girl was 13, she passed right before Christmas last year, miss them all so very much, but keep saying no more, I just can't keep going thru that, way to hard. God Bless!
Happy New Year, Kathleen! So glad I found your channel. You are very soothing to listen to. Hope to watch many more of your videos in 2025. Blessings from Ontario, Canada!
OMGosh we LOVE ♥parsnips, turnips, rutabaga, carrots, Brussel sprouts steamed, roasted . Like my Dad we love shredded parsnips or rutabaga streamed and then served with butter and fresh ground pepper and salt. Meat. I buy a top round roast and remove the bottom round, Eye of round and Sirloin tip. Will buy a beef tenderloin and cut my own steaks and freeze. When it comes to meat already cut up. it's the labour that can raise the price. Doing my own cutting has saved me a lot of money. Same with cutting up my own whole chicken.
Just found your channel and am enjoying it. I’m quite introverted also, so give you lots of credit in overcoming that. Keep going. Everybody starts somewhere and you’re doing great. Your channel is growing well. I’ve seen many other good channels that seem to struggle and go a really long time to even get to 1k subscribers. Love the photos on your community page. That’s a really nice cabbage! I’ve tried growing cabbage but the cabbage worms always ruin them. I used netting one year and they seemed to be doing great but just as they were getting some nice size on them, the cabbage worms found their way in and that was that. Very disappointing. Wishing you all the best in the new year.
Thanks. The netting worked great for me, the cabbages that stayed in the ground longer seemed to get affected by them, so those I had to go out and squash the worms daily, put the netting back over.
It's been fun watching your channel grow so fast. We love your sweet and honest heart. I would love it if you looked at the camera instead of your monitor. 😊
ive learned you can grow corn for store bought popcorn and also the dried beans you buy ,especially the soup mixes that have different type beans in them.ive grown from veggie scraps to,i also save all my veggie scraps and put them in a bag in the freezer to make a vegtable broth out of or add to chicken broth.
To get us kids to eat parsnips and carrots(mostly carrots), my Mom would cook the veggies first, then heat Apricot jam and drizzle it over them. We looked forward to eating them. I usually grow pumpkins each year and save the seeds for the next years planting. Looking forward to your next video. Have a good day, and Happy New Year!❤
Just passing along a tip, I found that the 1# package of ground beef that is found in the freezer section of my Dollar General Store near me is really good. It's only $6.00. It is a lot cheaper than paying almost $11.00 at the big grocery stores. They have other frozen meats as well.
@ they seem to be one of those things you have to get the hang of. I never had trouble with carrots, and will be trying parsnips for the first time this year. Everyone talked like carrots were very hard to do, but I haven’t had any trouble.
Howdy!!! Im taller so i buy mens long sleeve tshirts to wear under my short sleeve shirts at walmart . Mostly black but i do hav colors. they were 5 ea now 8 ea. Also a tip im too old i think to wear those leggings so i buy them at the end of winter at walmart for a dollar a pair then because theyre not bulky i use them as long johns and my regular jeans still fit over them!!! Cheaper than long johns and warm. Esp here in the mountains!!!!!i got distracted and just got back to your vid today!!!!! Great vid!!!!! Sorry to hear that. When we lived down south, on top of a moutain, we had things getting our chickens and rabbits. The rabbits were in cages built up on stilts. Still something got them both in the night.
ITS CRAZY HOW MUCH I payed for a hair cut and it wasnt anything complicated. just straight bangs and straight across like yours! i used to do mine and my kids ,but i thought id try it sents theres only me now but ,its way to much! for just a cut and then its not really that well dont.
Some, with recent talks of tarrifs, I did go out and stock up on coffee beans. I also have a year supply of short grain rice and some canned goods with pull tops in case the power goes out. I do have a manual can opener but it doesn't work great so those pop off lids are great.
I have health insurance from my old job, it did go up a little after I retired. I also had my government retirement and FERS supplement. The supplement is for people who retire before 62, gives you a partial amount that you would get from social security to bridge you over till you can start drawing social security. It ends when you turn 62, whether or not you start drawing social security then. Plus I had some savings in my TSP account, which I did use because I retired with a mortgage and needed it to pay my bills. Most of my federal retirement goes to pay for my health insurance, mortgage and property taxes. I have my social security now to pay for everything else.
@@rebeccadees2300 I didn't mind. I may do a video sometime on why I retired early. There were multiple reasons even though it put me in a worse situation.
@ I was just curious about the health insurance and not being 65 for Medicare. I retired at 63 and had cobra but it ended a few months before I was eligible for Medicare. I didn’t calculate it well but I was taking care of my mother and no longer had a caretaker for her while I worked. I had to pay for private health insurance until I was eligible for Medicare.
I stopped wearing make up.I don't like the way it makes my skinfeel.I like natural. I cut my own hair also.I like the way it looks when I cut it myself.
I have thought about that. I've already done one of my side yards and have two cherry trees on the other side yard. Will sometimes plant squash and watermelon on the cherry tree side but it was really dry this past summer so I didn't want to drag a hose over there again.
Look at you over 1.8k subscribers!!! 🎉❤😊 Good for you girl!!!!!!!

I love parsnips, rutabagas and turnips. Very hard to find here.
They're finally in my area but only sometimes and their expensive when you do find them.
I love the idea of self haircuts. But I don't know if I can do it.
You can if you just want a basic cut. Layering would be harder to do.
