This is an excellent beginner guide. So much information without constant blather. I wish these beginners videos would give some insight into just how long it takes to make one of your beautiful detailed drawings. Too many people give up not understanding that the techniques used with such skill and precision are the result of perhaps hundreds of hours of practice. We see so many finished pieces that it can be frustrating, and seemingly impossible, getting a comparable result. As an aside, I highly recommend Derwent Inktense pencils if you’re comfortable using solvent. Buttery going on, the activated color is gorgeous. Your work is beautiful.
If I was only as good as you! I love your work. I’m a beginner and watching this one video I learned a great deal. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
The wolves... Beautiful! This deserves more views and you deserve more subs! You won my sub! Keep up the good work Pal.. looking forward for more art of yours like this! 😊✨
Ive been watching so many pencil videos ended up going on a shopping spree bought all 100 luminance and 70 polychromos 36 prismas en 12 whites (prisma and luminance). Thank you for helping in my long forgotten passion. Ive been happier nowadays
This is an excellent video Jessica and a very helpful and useful video for beginners! I have to admit I really do think your channel is going to reach an enormous amount of people and it should! Your artwork is absolutely stunning and people could learn so much from your teachings & demos. Your skill level is out of this world! 😊💕 and the wolves! Oh my goodness! I saw them on Instagram and they are stunning 💜
Thanks for the tips. Yes, they even say "buttery smooth color laydown" on the back. :3 Love your pre-subscrption photoshop btw. Can't get those anymore.
Do you think mineral solvent will discolor the paper and pencil marks over a long time? Have you considered using water soluble Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer pencils for underlayers you want smoothly blended and then Polychromos on top for detail? Thank you for generously sharing your expertise. You're a great artist! God bless.
You will reach 1k subscribers in no time, keep doing what yo ur e doing. Great tutorial , I’ll use this as I’m terrible with colouring pencils lol , I prefer markers with some colour pencils on top
Thank you, really appreciate it! Hopefully it helps you, colored pencils are really great to work with once you know how to get them to work for you and not against you. :)
I really love your artworks. you are so talented and creative ❤❤❤❤ . but l 've a question that,, can we use other color pencil brand like Doms .. Because if you have talent brand doesn't matter
I'm assuming you mean how much time? It took me about 6 hours to draw the head and torso of the rear wolf, and probably the same amount of hours for the head and torso of the other two wolves.

I'm amazed by your skills... I never made a "realistic" drawing that size because I can't get the details correctly and soft...

Maybe a silly question but I’m a new colored pencil artist. How do you know when your picture doesn’t take color any more?
How to download reference image
how much did it take to draw the first wolf
I'm assuming you mean how much time? It took me about 6 hours to draw the head and torso of the rear wolf, and probably the same amount of hours for the head and torso of the other two wolves.
That’s a really long time! You have a level of patience that I just can’t handle.
