Wow, great purchases. I adore that 0-4-0. It seems a bit lower than other steam engines? That would make it ideal for my layout. I saw one in Southern livery secondhand from a local seller here, but at 29 euros that seems rather expensive. Seeing yours however, I think I might get it anyway. 😊 Great video! Cheers 🙋♂️ Erik

A nice trio of locos. I think the Lima 37 definitely should have a red buffer beam so possibly the Police livery bodyshell has been applied to a replacement 37 chassis. These models are pushing 40 years old now so there will often have been some 'higgling and jiggling' done along the way. The Police bodyshell was always something special and of value, so if the original chassis failed or wore out it would likely have been saved and fitted to another chassis. I have seen another 205177 with a black buffer beam but suspect the same with this example - also in the wrong box which is a bit of a giveaway!
Looking at a photo of the real loco that I came accross when upgrading mine, they are black. Maybe they were painted black just for the Police livery ? link in my previos post

Call me insane, I've recently sold a Lima 87 very similar to yours, it hard a blue card with information on it in the box (Lima branded) that gave the impression that the pantograph was functional. Don't know if yours is the same. Love the police 37, instantly thought of the advert as soon as I saw the thumbnail 😅

Swings n Roundabouts 🎠 Prices are whatever your Happy to pay for what you Want - Maybe £70 was a little high imo, but you gained on the Other 2 so Happy Days 🎉 I find that Old Lima Models are usually Great VFM if your Capable of doing a Little bit of Fettling 👍🏻
Yeah I did struggle to find a Police 37 on eBay below £100 so £70 is better for me 😊 I do like the olde Lima models as they can be good value when building a collection and for upgrading or weathering practice 😁 Thanks for your feedback and for watching 👍🏻
Hi, I have the same Lima model that I bought SH from Hattons a few years ago for only £35 ! but £70 is still very cheap. The box has L205177 on it but it's obscured by the Hattons label that says L205177a ? I've upgraded the motor and added a Locsound 5 and fitted lights. I chose the Locsound because of all the lighting effects including strobe and blue rotating light effect. Here is a video with it that I did for Jenny Kirk's Monday Club... DELETED AS BLOCKS POST I also have the Bachman 47 also in Police livery 31-650Q. I have just uploaded to my FB page all the photos I took of my upgrading motot, lights & sound, but I don't seem to be able to post that link either ?

I have two of those "D class 0-4-0s and they both have a wobble I just can't seem to correct after loads of attempts. I quite like them, for what they are, but I do think they may be the least good of the 0-4-0 starter locos. I may have been unlucky that both of mine seem cursed to wobble. I still have some things to try, but am having trouble gwetting the wheel off on one side, and I think it may be pushed on to far, so to get the back to back correct make the othe wheel to far off the axle. Hard to say for sure, but I think that might be the issue with one of them. I took the motors out and got them requartered and running smooth without the motors, so maybe there is an issue with the worm gear. I do wonder if it is not possible and to give up, given how cheaply made they are (not a criticism - I like low cost, but maybe once they are out of alignment it may be impossible to correct due to wide tolerances).
They certainly get the job done! Police 37 is 37093

I found the code for the Hornby 0-4-0 Tank Engine in LNER Green, it's R.2671.
They were produced between 2008 & 2009.

£30 is about right for a Lima Locomotives except the rare ones. I am gradually changing mine to cd motor drive. Costs about £2 per loco.

Was thinking the tank engine might be un cataloged. Iv an r.768 hymek in irish orange in black and its never been in the hornby books
