Soloist: Daniel Barenhoim
watching Barenboim play is a masterclass unto itself.
The first movement is so velvety smooth and soft I feel like I could reach out and touch it, and the second movement is so dynamic and lively and exciting
This video also includes piano sonata 20 which starts at 08:05
I've always appreciated Daniel in Beethoven performances. It cannot be easy to reliably strike a balance between, expression, without evidence of strain, nor play a single note out of place, emphasizing each note correctly, all while retaining it's fresh presentation! It's a miracle. Beethoven-worthy.
It's Haydn more than Beethoven here , j prefer Tiffany Poon in the first Beethoven-sonata ; j very pianist is better than mature- pianist ; all young have played it perhaps better !!
I've heard quite a lot of pianist and quite a lot of interpretation of this Op 19 sonata, but I have to admit that never have I heard of a playing as delightful as Barenboim. Listen to that 7.33 to 7.40, who ever played this part with this softness ? This man is an incredible pianist. Wish he could play in France some Beethoven.
1. Andante 0:09
2. Rondo. Allegro 4:43
Thank you, sir. I was looking for this comment in the section... lol
Yes, I remember playing this very badly. So now I know what it was supposed to sound like!
Thank you for compiling a complete playlist of Daniel Barenboim's Beethoven Sonatas. I have Igor Levitt's album, but I prefer Barenboim's interpretations and his control of the classical phrasing and tone. I'm working on these myself. It's important to listen to as many master performers as possible. Thank you AGAIN!
Piano sonata 19 g-minor
I. Andante 0:09
II. Rondo: Allegro 4:43
Piano sonata 20 G-major
I. Allegro, ma non troppo 8:05
II. Tempo di Menuetto 12:32
Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
Absolutely fabulous! Not only professional but also inspiring. Thank you for your performance.
This really helped me in my NYSSMA exam.
Such a beautiful performance!
Odno udovolstvie,vi molodec.Bravo)))U mena doc iqraet etu sonatu seycas, ocen mnoqo poucitelnoqo.Spasibo vam bolwoe!!!!
Favoloso!
Fantastic
Quelle interpretation.
This actually sounds like Bach and Mozart
I love this piece so bad T.T
This is the whole op. 49 not just the 19th sonata haha.
👍👍👍👍
There are two sonatas. 19th and 20th...
He is playing both now. Very well interpreted. 🎉

Can any piano players tell me, on a scale of 1-10 how difficult this is to play?
1 being the Für Elise theme and 10 being Hammerklavier, I'd say these sonatas are about 4.
@@davictor24 While I agree, I would put the 2nd mvt of the op 49 no 1 as a 5 (or 4.5 at least). It is deceptively hard. Obviously, though, it doesn't hold a candle to the other sonatas
4:44 2 MOV
1st Mov. So mesmerising... and tender. For me, the 2nd movement is a little too fast, too contrasting to the 1st movement - you lose some of the 'tenderness' in this sonata. Anyway, what do I know?!
Not what allegro means obviously
..una mierda!...tantos comerciales!...
Boring , sad , without the life only notes on paper nothing more
What?
"Boring, sad ...". Yeah, you should snap out of it and try to be interesting and happy. Let me suggest being more like this musician.
You are the boring, sad, and with no life. Only a brain-damaged troll in the Internet that no one cares about.
😐😐
