- In this video I talk about how to use cool whites and what common problems that occur when using cooler whites and how to avoid them. Also my least favourite Dulux Whites! Dulux ‘white on white’ and Dulux ‘Lexicon’

A colour expert from my local paint shop recommended we use white on white inside our brand new home and we hate it! Exactly what you said it’s throwing off blue everywhere as it’s a dark house with not much sunlight, also beyond terrible at night time with cool lighting! Very very upset as it’s a brand new home and am now looking at how much it will cost to re paint the entire interior. Wish I saw this video early
do you think that vivid white is bad?
Can I get some advice please? I recently got my kitchen done with vivid white wardrobes and the ceiling is also vivid white and I have light grey floor tiles and wall tiles. The work top is black. I am going to paint above the units and cannot decide what type of white to use. I have natural light from windows and the ceiling lights are bright vivid LEDs. What white would you recommend for the walls above the kitchen units?
I used Natural White in my family room. I decided I was not happy with the colour, because it has a light grey tone to it. Luckily it is the lightest room. Will wait till I clear that area and possible go over it. I used half strength fair haven to warm up my spaces as too light made if feel colder. What is your opinion of the Natural White, Semi Gloss?
Pictures would have been great to help visualise. 🙂
What about casper white half strength
I chose that for my house exterior colour which will be repainted soon. It's the most natural Dulux white colour I found after dozens of their sample pots.
Hi Lauren, we are building a new house- we are just about the decide to go to white on white walls and vivid white trims until we saw your video. Now, if we will do casper white what colour for trims, ceilings should we use? TIA :)
I have wattyl white on ceiling and cornices, will white on white work on a north west facing block? Thank you
Very helpful, thank you.
Thanks for the video, very useful!
Your video is Great! Keep making videos! You've got this! :)
Thanks. Good info and presentation.
A very helpful tutorial. Thank you
This was really great! I follow 3 birds and love their designs so it was good to relate that back to Melbourne homes. Thanks 💖
Thanks this was awesome! I think ill do natural white walls and white on white trim
I’m glad I could help :) white on white might be a little blue to put with natural white so just be careful with that one but see how you go!
Thank you!
Hi just discovered your video!!!! Fantastic as I'm struggling to make a decision.
I've been leaning towards natural white in a half strength.....Don't want the walls to appear pink.
What do you think of the half strength?

How about lexicon half ?
How does this look on interior walls ?
I got sample pots of Lexicon and it's half and quarter variants and they were all awful. It's more light blue grey than white. If you want a natural white look then better to stick with whites that have neutral grey beige undertones such as Casper White Half or Wattyl Manhattan Snow.
Thank u so much for your help !
Much appreciated
Isn’t lexicon more greyish ?
What if I want ceiling white and the walls a touch of grey wha grey shouod I get ? In order to make my ceiling look higher
Hey I can see she never replied so this is probably waaaay late for you!!! I used whisper white in my house which throws a very slight grey tint (not blue); outside it looks pure white. I just used Lexicon 1/4 in two east facing bedrooms and it’s throwing a little blue (we are selling so it was a good test) so I’m now trying to find the most neutral white for our new home that has a dark living space! Gahhh! It’s not easy!!
@@chriswilson8487 I ended up using lexicon half the apartment turned blue lol . Lexicon is horrible h
Walls are on natural white, what white goes on the doors?
Vivid white
What trims/skirtings to go with natural white?
Dulux ‘Vivid white’ (just white) is perfect with natural white, it brings out the best but you can always use the natural white on walls and trim also. I hope that helps :)
I totally agree I hate buying whites that throw blue. I’m going to go with natural white for pergola and roof surf mist . Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
