Casting in 1 day?! Well done. Very good observation, the laboures will always inform you everything at the last minute... my experience is that they inform at the last minute because they want to test how deep is your pockets are. If you always react to their last minute requests, an opportunity for stealing material opens up, overcharge or prolonging the work.
Thanks for the tip Senior, I understand what you mean but what we did is another method used which will allow the building to sink-in a bit and settle with time this prevents pressure on the columns (Iron rods) to bind or crack is there is so room for the building to settle.......what we did was to suspend the starting Pillars and cast the concrete around it the Pillars are not direct contact with the ground but sitting on smaller rocks....
Sure it's possible if the mason have build a similar structure before....maybe the plan was for a a different client and wants to repeat the same for you so He has the experience but not advisable when its multiple levels 🙏🏾
No problem just take to him to open up to you where the plan is coming from and if He has built a similar plan before...if possible show you videos and pictures and if you are happy with it you can give him the chance but please keep an eye on Him and our RUclips videos can guide you with step by step process and tips
Perhaps after you dig the trenches fill it with crushed stones, they are larger than the average stone then compact it, let it settle, than start the casting. Its more capital intensive but that's how i do it.
Correct! The land is not waterlogged or clayed that's why we didn't use damp Proof at this stage but going forward we did the painting and other measures which you will be seeing in the next episodes . Thanks for watching
Good Question .... its based on the weight of the building...if its 4 storey building and above then it's needed because you will need a support (steel) to share the load
Why aren't you guys leveraging premix concrete companies for your concrete works such as the foundation pour? You give the company your spec and when you're ready the premix company delivers your concrete to site one time and bingo?
Good question....They have their own measurement they deliver and sometimes there will be extra concrete leftover and they don't take it back ...they will pour it on your site ( land) which will cost you another labour cost to clean....they don't accept our measurement.....
@kontomylitis but if your foundation or Decking ( concrete work ) is big enough or if you can combine it with another concrete work which has to be done on site for example..Fence wall foundation or Septic tank then its the best choice

Well done bro. But my little suggestion the should have done a blinding concrete before placing the mat on the column base

That's a good concept....have seen it done in most other African countries
How much do labourers charge for roofing, rough guide please, thanks for all the advice
I would probably want to have DPM in the trench before concrete is poured
Also a good idea 💡 , will do the same in a waterlogged area
Thanks for the update 🤝🙏
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾
😁👏
Thank you for always watching my build ❤️!! I can't wait for the completed house build to be done.
It appears you didn’t use the damp proof membrane is there a reason for that?
Correct! The land is not waterlogged or clayed that's why we didn't use damp Proof at this stage but going forward we did the painting and other measures which you will be seeing in the next episodes . Thanks for watching
Big up Gigo from Atlanta Georgia question I see no one in Ghana doesn't use steel in the foundation is that normal or it's a Ghana thing just checking
Good Question .... its based on the weight of the building...if its 4 storey building and above then it's needed because you will need a support (steel) to share the load
We also consider how soft the ground is and then we support with the ground beams
How much bed rooms is this foundation?
Its 3 bedroom house, Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
