I just love how quiet and nonchalant he is about it. The fact that he doesn't make it a big deal makes it that much more intimidating for his opponents
Exactly! That announcer just created, “He just got Josh Norman’d!” That one he did on dude from the lions was almost more aggressive than the Josh one! Josh just unfortunately grew wings on his stiff arm!
Fun fact: D-Henry was almost cut/traded a couple of years into his rookie contract. At one point he was leading the league in rushes for a loss. He then got together with Eddie George for a "talk" on his running style...and the rest is history. He's been beasting it ever since
To make a long story short, Eddie George basically told him to "take what the defense gives you"...he saw that Henry was always trying to take every run to the house, instead of taking the yards that were available...with Henry's size, just forcing the defense to tackle you 20+ times a game is going to tire them out, make them not want to tackle him, and create those openings he was trying to force open early in his career. And Henry's been an absolute monster ever since. Titan Up!
Imagine trying to tackle Derrick Henry and Instead of him trucking or stiff arm you, he runs directly at you and folds you like a lawn chair after a beach day.

He’s the most dominant running back we’ve seen in a long time Edit: I know there’s beast mode but even when he cam out of retirement he hasn’t actually been dominant like that since like 2014
As a huge Bama fan, Derrick Henry will always be my favorite Tide player. I will never forget watching him dominate teams in the 3rd and 4th quarter in 2011-2012. Once the defenses got tired, he would just start hammering them. He would break a 50+ yard TD run basically every game. It was so much fun watching him because you KNEW one of his runs would break loose and he’d be gone. He is so fast. Way faster than he looks. I think the play in this video where he runs past the Mississippi State defender down the sideline shows that the best. It was a safety that thought he had an angle on him, but Henry is so fast he just ran right by him. Also, that 99 yard run for the Titans still gives me chills. He definitely has the best stiff arm I’ve ever seen.
I said when they drafted him he was the best running back in the NFL. He’s like a giant Earl Campbell that can outrun corners and safeties and make you pay to tackle him. Everyone talks about his size but they forget about his speed.
@@tycrowell2694 wow. I’ve never been to one, but I got to meet a lot of the players when I went to a practice. I got a ball signed by 5 patriots and my dad got a ball signed by at least 10 Titans

2:05 That has to be one of the best runs ever. I understand not being able to bring him down, but you can't even get him out of bounds while he's running inches from the line for over 50 yards? He made them look like kids.
Best one I’ve ever seen in my life! Incredible how he used different stiff arm techniques and acceleration to get past each defender. Especially the 2nd guy while tip toeing the line was able to create space with the SA initially the slow down and use the stiff arm to push him down and accelerated out!
If King Henry somehow finds himself in the Hall of Fame the stiff arm that ended Josh Norman's career better be the first thing they play right after his 99 yard TD. Man is a BEAST.
