I really like the quality of your film. Too many RUclipsrs while they show up close have such finessed footage and lighting that everything looks perfect and it all looks the same. Yours look real. It’s really helpful thanks
I had heard that this foundation has a great color for fair- olive babies like me but was bummed that I couldn't find a person of my age and skin type (that I trust) who had reviewed it...Amanda to the rescue! Not for the first time, you are my makeup hero. 💚
I'm a light olive on the dry side. I'm so psyched to try this! In my opinion, all companies need to start adding olive shades -- long overdue! Thank you for doing this, Amanda.
I’m so happy you decided to review this foudation. Especially your close-ups are so helpful since I have the same “problematic” areas on my dry skin as you and I have to say it looks amazing. This foundation was 90% Yes as soon as I read the description but I’m glad I postponed my decision. Thanks for the video❤
I am almost 40 with dry skin and I am really enjoying it so far. The price point makes me so excited. It is possibly holy grail status!!! Thank you for the review. When I remove my doe foot I'll just keep turning it easy and I don't have that issue.
I have oily combination skin and I love this foundation! I use the Elf Cosmetics Power Grip Primer +4% Niacinamide with this foundation. I found the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip made it pill up. Setting it with a powder and/or setting spray helps it lasts longer for oily skin types. 😊
So glad this was a win for you! I have skin that leans more oily, and I also love this foundation. So it seems it works for all skin types, which is awesome. Plus, the F2 Olive shade is the closest shade match I have EVER had. Agreed that the stopper totally sucks, though. I wish they'd at least offer pumps (a la Mac).
I want to try this sooo bad 😩 It looks amazing on you, and I’m hearing such great things about the shade range, which is always an issue for me. Alas, skin allergies are a MAJOR buzzkill. We’re still figuring out my allergies, so hopefully someday we’ll determine that this is safe for me to try 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Just found your channel and subscribed. I absolutely appreciate you showing your actual skin up close and personal. As an aging person myself with skin imperfections, I am soooo happy you provided an unbiased an unfiltered review. Looks like a great skinlike foundation I’d live to try now.
That foundation!!!!! 🙌🏻. I’m 66 and have pretty decent skin, having been neurotic about skincare and sunscreen most of my life. So, I don’t like heavy coverage because I have fine lines. I think I might give this a try. Also, I want to compliment you on your thoroughness of this tutorial. It’s helpful seeing a closeup before and to compare one side on the other off. I appreciate it very much. Love the eyeshadow too! Can’t wait to see that tutorial as well. Thank you! ❤️
Pretty sure I bought this because of Theresa too and then I bought the serum concealer because of you (I don’t wear much foundation or concealer either so that’s saying something) and I love the combo!!
Thank you for this video, such great info! I wonder if you could put a pump on the bottle. I’ve gotten some from Amazon. I have this foundation but haven’t tested it yet!
I was just wondering if about face was still a thing. I got a few of their eye pencils and a black eye paint when they launched (which makes a great base to make duochrome shimmers and glitters pop).
would you buy the same shade again or go with another shade? just wondering if you still think it was too golden. I think I would need the same shade as you 🥰
I mean Halsey is a PERFORMER ! She does her own makeup so of course she wants the best looking and good longevity wear. Glad its an excellent foundation !
I am waiting for mine to come from Ulta. I have found Ulta doesn't have the fastest delivery. I live on Long Island. I am 58 and have dry skin too and also control it with my skincare. I also prefer a hydrating foundation. I do a bit of Botox. This review is right up my alley!!!
I'm definitely neutral! In general, true olive skin tones have more of a golden green undertone that tends to tan while neutrals tend to burn. I am definitely the burning type 🤣 and I completely lack the golden green undertone I need to qualify as olive.
Thirty-Eight?? The entire time that I’ve been watching you I sincerely thought you were in your mid-twenties. Holy cow, you’ve really taken of yourself. Anyway, thanks for the review and wear test. I’m going to look for my shade and make a purchase.
@@MakeupJustForFun ugh, you’re right I would properly MacGyver it by using my nail e-file to widen the opening of the stopper 🙈 But I’ve got a lot of complexion products to go through before buying new ones
I totally agree - but I think the problem is unfortunately a lot of people can't tell when there has been a lot of editing or a filter has been applied 😳
AboutFace just became available at Shopper Drug Mart in Canada, so now I’m excited to catch up on the products that are worth trying! Do you have any suggestions?

Aww I'm happy to be able to help!

So would you say this foundation is silicone or water based?

I just watched Alexandra Anele's video, and I want to try this so bad. That fair olive shade is calling me!
I bought this when it first came out and i love it so much that i also got it in my summer tan color too ❤❤❤
Amanda this eyeshadow look is so pretty 👀
Thank you! 🥰
I was just looking for a review of this on dry skin the other day!
Respectfully, you are not my supervisor, so you can't tell me not to get distracted by that gorgeous sparkly blue lid 😍
🤣🤣🤣 fair enough! haha
would love if you did a foundation/concealer swatch of your faves! Always so hard to shade match, especially when they can oxidize
I had forgot I purchased this and then it hit me today!! So I have used for the first time but super impressed

Thanks so much! The tutorial for this look is already up btw - it's from my Twilight collection video that's linked in the description 😄
@@MakeupJustForFun thank you. I found it, watched it and loved it, too! ❤️
This was such a good wear test and review!!! Thank you
Ive just recently put this in my cart out of curiosity. Such a well timed review! Thanks Amanda ❤
You convinced me to get the elf foundation and I LOVE it. So good on my textured skin
I would love to know your skincare routine. Your skin looks great!
Do you have a recent skin care routine video? I have dry, mature skin as well.
Very nice foundation, it looks very beautiful on you. A great video. What shade do you wear in Elf's CC Cream. Love your eyes ❤️❗
I have dry flaky skin. Do you think it would be good for that?
Pretty sure I bought this because of Theresa too and then I bought the serum concealer because of you (I don’t wear much foundation or concealer either so that’s saying something) and I love the combo!!

I've been wanting to try this one, but I have no clue which shade to try.

Yay! I hope you love it as much as I do!
Im curious why you got the neutral over the olive undertone? You look olive but maybe it’s just the lighting.

I also have super dry and sensitive skin. I'm going to see if I can find it somewhere here in canada. We don't have ulta.
It's also available on the About Face site but when I was prepping this video it looked like a lot of the shades are out of stock over there 😳
I hate the stopper, so I remove them ❤
Maybe removing the stopper? 🤷♀️
The stopper is there to prevent leaking so I def don't want to cause a new problem for myself 😅

Unfortunately the fair olive is still too deep 😭
I will not trust a critique on a product if the content creator uses filters.
