I tried to create an 'interpolate(t)' function, but mine resulted in straight lines instead of the desired ribbon shape.

Hai June, I try to follow your amazing tutorial. Thank you so much for this. I need some advice from you. In minute 4:29, when you connected "List item" with "explode", it was shown "double gray wire" but in mine, it to be "double dash gray wire". What should i do for that?

As long as you have same geometry, it is fine. I m using rhino5 and not sure 6 has a same graphic style.
