I grew up doing this. Always did prefer catching them this way. Trolling with planer boards just takes all the joy out of it for me. I like to feel the bite. Are you guys chartering at this time of year? (just immediately post spawn) I would be very interested in scheduling for the last week in April or so.
Hi William. The classic jig bite is pretty much done. Yes, some walleye can still be caught but there are a lot of other non-target species mixed in now. Most of my clients want lots of fish for the freezer so I've switched back over to trolling...it's on fire.
@@22sportfishingcharters66 figured it was getting late. I sent you a message on your website with my email address and would be very interested in scheduling for next year if it isn't already booked.
@@22sportfishingcharters66 mass volume does not really interest me, I am far more interested in the big girls heading back out post spawn before they scatter east, and keeping a few eaters.
Yes. Black, purple, black/purple and purple/chartreuse work very well. I mostly use 3/4 ounce. 5/8 ounce on really calm days in water less than 12 feet. I also have a jigging "how to" video on my channel you may want to check out.
@@fishman8662 right, I never saw someone so worried about getting the boat dirty.... but I guess if it is your livelihood and keeping it professional looking
That rubber net is a Cummings. It has a 38"-70" handle and the hoop is 21"x27". The hoop is a salmon style and has a reinforced wall. Here's the model number. B-ROCT-40-6-2PC

Good video, but why were you scared of bring the fish in the boat? You 2 were holding the fish on the outside edge of the boat.
The males are milking like crazy and that stuff makes a huge mess. It just helps save time on cleaning up the boat after a trip.
Thats what I thought
