This clip is from QI Series M, Episode 4, 'Miscellany' with Stephen Fry, Noel Fielding, Rhod Gilbert and Cariad Lloyd. - Развлечения
Moss, in fact, actually came very close to destroying all living brain cells, when he said, "Good morning, that's a nice tnetennba."
Did you see that ludicrous display last night? The trouble with Alan Davies is he always tries to walk it in.
I'm quickly growing to adore Cariad Lloyd.
Shes such a great actor I hated her on Peep show. And ive adored her since forever
Don't blame you at all! She is lovely...
"Mirthquake" is genius
Moss? He’d just tell you to turn it off and on again. That’s probably where Noel was going with that …
That was Roy's catchphrase 😂
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame, set at gas mark 'egg on your face‘.
Your name is Maurice Moss, is it not?
@@Chuckf66it is not.
"In case you've just joined us" as a matter of fact we (those of us who haven't seen this episode before) have.
That was my first thought as well. Works well with RUclips
the Kate Moss joke almost made me spit my drink out
Especially coming from Stephen!
Cariad lloyd 💕❤️
She's adorable
RUclips wants to translate Cariad to "Love". I'll allow it!
@@WarrigtThat's what it means in Welsh.
@@paulsengupta971 was pretty sure it wasn't latin
"Bitchin' about lichen" is a fantastic name for a gardening podcast.
There was a brilliant piece in The Guardian over the summer about a species of moss that is the world’s oldest moss, found in the Himalayas, may not be able to survive climate breakdown, scientists have said. It’s called Takakia and has been growing for 390 million years.
Now I need to find that article
Never thought I'd hear someone on QI say "Magneto".
Just took some bright spark….
Cariad is a huge Sci fi/fantasy nerd and we love her.
Magnetos exist outside of comics, so surely the term would come up at some point
@@CJT3X Fair enough.
I got half way through this and just had to find the original full program for context.
I just love these rolling stones.
Question: Which M almost destroyed the world?
My immediate thought: Mankind!
And now, I'm depressed...
Almost? Hell, we're just getting started. 😬
And the award for most depressing comment thread in the shortest amount of comments goes to...
*the most deadly of all creaturrres*
i was saying 'margaret thatcher' but then the 470 million years ago thing was mentioned.
@@MooKau_ True. She was most likely in one of her epochal hibernations at that point.
Iä! Iä! Maggie fhtagn!
I knew there would be a Kate Moss joke in there somewhere.
Mirthquake 😂
All I could think of was Magnesium.😂
This question has andrew hunter Murray all over it
My first thought
Not Richmond having suspicions about Maurice :')
"Like a phage" might not be the most helpful simile.
It was one of Madonna's less successful early releases.
It's a shame Richard Ayoade wasn't on this one.
Has he ever appeared on QI?
@@andrasszabo1570 I thought he had, but I guess not... He's been on the Big Fat Quiz of the Year a lot with Noel, so I just figured he'd made the rounds on QI as well.
He'd be brilliant on it though.
That’s a Pteranodon not a Pterodactyl.
and that "iceberg" looks more like a glacier to me, what with being on land and all
If it wasn't so long ago I would've said 'Merica
A merica or more than one?
Just the one, thankfully
I would have said Mother Russia.
I suppose it says something about me that I would have said, "Moriarty."
So, what stopped the Great Moss Destruction?
Jaysus.
In general, extinction events aren't _stopped_ so much as they just fizzle out. Eventually everything that was going to go extinct does, and a bunch of new things evolve to fill in the gaps.
It wasn't nice of them to speak about Richard Ayoade's character like that. Noel Fielding should have known better.
Have you tried turning it off and on again? 😉
So what happened with the moss, why didn't it complete it's takeover?
The government passed anti-monopoly laws. Close call, eh?
... its takeover?
Malaise?
Monotony?
Morris dancing?
Definetly Morris dancing!
Caribou to the rescue
The fastest moving Moss was Sir Stirling.
MURDOC!!!
Anyone who listens to the NSTAAF podcast would immediately have realised which QI Elf likely found this fact.
😂👏🏼👏🏼
She's right though
Inspector Moss?
MAVITY!
Disappointed no one said ‘Murdoch’
Probably would have been a klaxon.
because technically, we're not certain about the "almost"
Meh-teor!
Mothra.
0:43 Stephen, stephen..... tut, tut, tut. Ordovician is pronounced ordo-vish-ian
It may be because he's learned classic latin where C is always pronounced as a K.
@@SaturnusDK That's precisely why I pronounce it that way, despite knowing better 😅
@@SaturnusDK Aha, good point, didn't think of thst but still, no-one pronounces it that way, I studied geology, and languages are fluid....
Just seen this clip, ' There's an iceberg like your clitorous ' , is one of the funniest things i've ever heard, 😅
Pretty much every QI clip has an element that is fundamentally incorrect, but this takes the cake. The Ordovician-Silurian extinction was 445 million years ago, not 470 million years ago. Mosses did not exist at the time, the contribution of land plants to the extinction is still uncertain, and it almost certainly didn't happen the way Fry mumbled. It certainly did not take 30 million years.
This is precisely why Stephen got paid more
"There's moss that destroys itself, like Kate Moss"
I really enjoy Sandi Toksvig as host, but she can never top Stephen Fry.
But will you find 'moss' growing on the north side of Brazilian women?
Southern hemisphere mate
I hope that sometime in the near future the BBC goes back to educating people and fingers crossed make us laugh again .
Eh?
Muhammad
The correct answer is filed under "Momma's ass, Yo".
This show went from one of the most brilliant and funny things anyone ever put on TV to unwatchable garbage when Fry left.
mediocrity
So, it didn't nearly destroy the world at all. Yet another misleading question from QI.
MEN! Am I right?
I can't stand that cowboy.
{:o:O:}
Cariad Lloyd. Most insufferable 'comedian' I've ever seen/heard
Then go watch another video genius
Nah, that's definitely Katherine Ryan - Absolutely pathetic!
She was in the thumbnail, and you watched it anyway?
