Hi Jeff, I really enjoyed learning about the kick serve. I had a great night of tennis today. I started out poorly, but after a few games, I was winning my service games with ease. I learned it with your Kick Serve Secrets, and each time I play tennis, I look forward to serving now. I don't dread it. I never had a kick serve before, and thanks to you, I have one now. The key for me is the stance, the grip, the shoulder turn, along with the starting position with the racquet. We were rotating partners, but by the 2nd and 3rd sets, we were winning points in doubles, when I was serving. I hit one topspin serve out wide, that I never hit before. I was giving my returner trouble. I heard one player, go "Wow"...I could not believe it. By far to me, the kick serve gives the most bang for your buck. It is my favorite serve to learn. And did I mention, I never had a kick serve before! Thank you Jeff! Keep coaching tennis.
Jeff - I saw this video just before going to play tennis with my buddies - and after just a few minutes of trial and error, I NAILED it! I've struggled with consistency on my serve for so long...this one RUclips session has been more valuable than hours and hours of playing, coaching lessons and other RUclips videos I've seen. Thanks so much! For those interested in how I made the adjustments, I did the feet positioning adjustment first, then the toss (I was earlier popping it vertically in front of me of vs. in an arc that takes the ball over your head but still in front) and finally the arm movement. Every single tip here, when applied, makes the kick serve fairly consistent. The toss, by far, was the biggest game changer! Can't express my gratitude enough :-)
I had no idea why I didn't try to search kick serve on youtube earlier. I have had the problem exactly you told. My stance wasn't deep enough and that made my serve only slice serve. Many thanks! I'm gonna stay tuned for other videos :D
That’s… an amazing serve. Period. No other online instructors can produce this. Back fence? How? Incredible! I keep watching this over and over. Thanks Jeff!
Jeff’s not your run of the mill online instructor though. Guys been at the elite level of pro tennis and one of the best players in the world at one point. His serve without any effort whatsoever is an absolute bomb.
I want to say that this instructional video about the kick serve is the best I have seen on the internet because it provides some small details that others don't have and I've watched most of top RUclips tennis channels. I can tell those important and correct/ helpful even though I myself can't properly execute a kick serve YET, but as I play different sports having good native coordonation and attention to details of movement and control of the ball like football or freestyle football, I understand after I've watched and listened to your tips that those small parts really matter. Now I'm really determined to learn this kick serve! Great content man! Alex
By far one of the very very best explanations and demonstration! of how to hit a kick serve correctly. Just looking at the bounce of the ball, with such little effort tells me why a "pro"'s play and talent level is so vastly different than the rest of us. Started playing tennis in my forties - was a table tennis player - and have been playing nearly every other day for the past 2 years. It is 25 deg outside this morning but watching this video makes me want to go out and try this out to get a real kick serve. Your explanation is simply amazing!!. Every 14 yr old tennis aspirant should watch this video twice a day and practice this on court with 50 balls for 20 mins/day for 2 months. The results will be amazing!..
Jeff- superb. I’ve watched 10+ online tutorials on kick serves; this is not only the most thorough, but concise. You cover crucial points other gloss over or leave out entirely. Thank you for everything you and tennis evolution are doing.

Have been a big fan of JS for some time and was lucky enough to record a podcast with the Serve Surgeon himself. Am competing on the ITF tour at the moment and just thought I'd mention that I am getting my kick-serves to a similar height now as this video, all based on Jeff's guidance that started some years ago. Thanks for the tennis app suggestion. To answer your question, 99% (figuratively-speaking) of the lessons available free online teach everything under the Sun, but what is missing are answers to hard questions, like why it is necessary to do certain things on the court, like hit a slice serve vs flat vs kick. Why is it important to hit your spot in the box on your serve? Most club players do not understand gut vs poly, or hybrid stringing; what does it do for you? Why is it important to have a proper grip, including the importance of the girth of the handle vs your hand size? I can go on for a long time w/ questions...

Jeff, your tip on “covering the ball” has made all the difference. It is probably the most valuable tip on kick serve, on top of what is already on RUclips. Most skip this part, and yet it gives the right shape to the ball. I went out tonight and tried it out and my kick serves were landing in the court comfortably.

Great to see the coach actually demonstrate a truly great kick serve that actually looks like it kicks super high, even getting stuck high in the fence. So often we see internet coaches and club coaches for that matter describe the kick serve technique but can never preform it. I'm now subscribed.
I played tennis for years but took a break for a while. Technique wasn't off too much but my consistensy was egh. Watched this video, went back to the court, changed my stance up a little and was cracking 200 all day. ;) Dude, great tutorial.
Amazed at such a high kick with what looks like 75% effort! Very fluid and assuming your body and arm are very relaxed throughout. Thanks for the great vid Jeff!!
This is a great video, Jeff. I've started to implement a kick serve as a second serve this week in matches. Double-faulting as I get used to the new serve but also notice the difficulty opponents have with a kick serve and getting free points from it. Looking forward to persevering with it and improving. Thanks
Clearly demonstrated kick serve positioning and motion. Though the kick serve itself is demonstrated as late as ftom 6:15, the right preparation and build up is what the tutor focuses on here.
Wow, this is the easiest to understand kick serve video I’ve ever seen. Everyone else makes it seems so complicated with so many steps. That’s why I’ve never been able to grasp it. I’m trying this technique out next time!

Great tuition and demonstration Jeff thanks the issue for me is to not do a waiters tray serve when I don’t by having a Roddick type take back I struggle to do anything but a flat serve. Problem with that is in doubles if I miss my first serve I can bottle my second serve as fine margins. Anyway off to the court to practice kick and topspin serve with no waiter element. Thanks again.
Thank you for a clear step by step on the kick serve. I'm a lefty and pleasantly surprised to see you are as well. Helps me as I don't have to visualize it and can just watch what I need to do.
I am dutch, 48 years and have been playing tennis for 3 years. Its fun and I got a few compliments last summer from other 'beginners' about my serve. But I think all these 'beginners (from young to older) are hitting serves mostly all wrong.... And looking at this masterclass I think I do it very wrong as well. I know its not about trying to use power. Its about technique. A friend of mine plays golf for decades. He says its about powerless motion and work on the technique. Guys want to hit with drivers asap but as long as you cant hit a ball for 100 meters straight 10 times in a row....you dont deserve more than a iron 7. My point: I should have starting with tennis at age 8 but I will start to learn how to hit a Kick:)
Thank you so much for warning about shoulder pain. You're the first instructor, online or in person, whom I've ever heard mention this and I've played tennis since 1954. BTW, that same stiff arm can also cause tennis elbow or, worse, a severely torn tendon. Happened to me many years ago!
From France : love your presentation and the main points you underline. Next step, I test and get back to you. Your tips are clear and very comprehensive. Thanks a lot for your time spent and passion shared. Great footage.
Just amazing. I must say I can hit a kick serve well just because of you. You are like Superman who saves tennis players from Earth like me. Keeping the arm on the same side of the body is the key idea which I have not seen any online coach talking about. In this case, I feel I use the whole body to roll the ball after compressing it. Yes, snapping or lagging is necessary but it is just a half of the story.
Great instructional video but it doesn't say when is the best time to use the kick serve. My serving doesn't get above 70mph but it is fairly accurate. I was hoping I could use it as an alternative 1st serve and force opponents further off the court.
Thank you Michael. If you're right handed, you'll use the kick serve mainly to the ad court to target your opponents backhand. What other type of videos you'd like to see from me in the near future? Great demo! And some real kick to your serves. Would be great if you showed a few in slow motion also how to change the direction of the kick from T to wide in both boxes.
Great video! I just started working on the kick a few days ago. I am beginning to see a pretty consistent high topspin bounce, but I’m struggling to get the ball to make that nice jump out to the left (I’m a lefty). Looks like your racquet face is pointed more to the left than mine is. I’ll try to work on that.

From France : love your presentation and the main points you underline. Next step, I test and get back to you. Your tips are clear and very comprehensive. Thanks a lot for your time spent and passion shared. Great footage.
François Thominet viva la France:). Thank you so much
Great instruction. Thanks, Jeff!
Adam A my pleasure
Man, this was so useful!!!! Much love ❤️
That's awesome! Thanks for watching.
Wow, best progressions sequence for kick serve I've ever seen; can't wait to tweak a couple of things on mine. Thanks, Jeff!
Dr. E. R. Blomgren awesome !;)
Anh Tuan this is amazing :).
Anh Tuan can you please email me at jeff@tennisevolution.com
The best video on a kick serve!!! Thanks 😍
I have been kick serve trying since a month, now I got it. sideways, curve and dirty diaper. Great video Thanks Jeff.
Srikiran Chinta that's awesome
Great instructional video but it doesn't say when is the best time to use the kick serve. My serving doesn't get above 70mph but it is fairly accurate. I was hoping I could use it as an alternative 1st serve and force opponents further off the court.
Thank you Michael. If you're right handed, you'll use the kick serve mainly to the ad court to target your opponents backhand.

Best tutorial on kick yet seen. It helped me refine two aspects of my swing - stance and shoulders a little further back and open: and more relaxed circular swing path. Thanks. e.b.
Dr. E. R. Blomgren awesome!
The best VDO on market about serve Jeff by far, many congrats!
Toulliou Jean-luc wow! Thank you so much 😊

TheKnackySoftWare thank you :). Please share with others!
Great video! I bought your "kick serve course" and it was awesome! I still use your kick progression with my students and they improve quickly!
Marco Magro this is so awesome! Thank you for believing in the coaching.
Great demo! And some real kick to your serves. Would be great if you showed a few in slow motion also how to change the direction of the kick from T to wide in both boxes.
Sz Ki maybe we can do that :)
I like your video because your instruction is very clear and detail. Thanks so much.
Jim Hogan you are welcome. Thank you !
So, it is impossible, as I had suspected.
MrJadwin what is ?
Yeah, it feels like mission impossible to me🤣
Tooooo hard
@@Errk2G you go the correct grip??
@@shroud1390 it's improved a lot more since then. I've actually been complimented on it.
Fantastic tip. The circular swing path of the serve really explained the technique. Thank you.
Karthik J oh thank you :)
Your tips make sense; I'll try to practice it tomorrow; thanks so much Jeff!
You're welcome Samuel. Thank you for watching. Let me know it goes.

From France : Finally test your advise this week-end. It really works : my serve became very reliable with a good volume on 1st and second serve with a good effect on the ball ! Need to improve power right now. Any advise ? Thanks for your video and post !!! A very goog help, well explained.
François Thominet awesome news! Thanks for letting me know. Check out my video on how to get more power on the serve. Or my programs

@@TennisEvolution Really really well. consistency improved massively. And the "trigger finger" tip is something I've never heard spoken about until that video but was probably one of the most helpful pointers (it did loads for the power of the serve). Thank you!
I keep going back to these videos. Simply the best stuff out there on serve!
Jeff, Can you move to Dallas so I can take lessons from you? You are awesome, my friend... alas what you'd expect from a pro.

It looks like you are having incredible mobility in your serving shoulder. 👍
Vlad Filip yes! It’s pretty good ;)
great tips Jeff... great kick... I don't think I get it to kick that much... but, I would like to try that technique ... And I didn't know that you could finish two different ways under the belly button and sideways... really good demonstration...
