For the girl who worked nightshift and then went to a party, that's a Huge red flag that your fiancé immediately turned on you when his aunt texted him about you. If he won't have your back now, he won't have your back later.
That 2nd story. Yeah. Screw that's it. Walk away from that bunch of jerks. I had a similar situation and was not defended by family who knew I had worked the night before and had to go to work that night.
Story 2: Nightshifters represent! If you work the nightshift, showing up dead tired to an event is not a matter of if but a matter of when, it's just part of the lifestyle. I can't even blame the aunt, she knows nothing of working late and she owes the girl nothing at this point. Compassion would've been nice but let's face it, planning events is not easy, putting so much effort into making a fun get together only for someone seemingly devoid of enthusiasm come and dampen the mood would suck. As for the matter with the boyfriend, well, what even is the point of having a partner that doesn't have your back? Splitting up is a blessing considering his priorities.
Story 1: Talk about crazy customers! Any time I visit a coffee shop, I always treat the barista with kindness, always saying things like *"Please"* and *"Thank you."* I don't get why these customers treated this barista like shit. Good for OP for refusing to take bullshit from nasty customers.
Story 3: So the manager caught their employee sleeping during core business hours. And one of the consequences of that is to assign the OP more responsibilities? This is despite the fact that they're sleeping at work because they're already pulling insane hours already? If I were the manager, I would be more embarrassed for myself. And if I were the OP, maybe it's time to stop working so much after-hours.
Story 1: Now, as much as i love to say "Right To Refuse Service" alot, i gotta say that i absolutely loved the OP here. She had 3 awful customers and dealt with each one of them beautifully. If you dish it out, you better be able to take it, and those customer clearly couldn't and the OP wasnt taking their guff for a second. The manager of this place needs to give the OP a raise and a bonus. Story 2: Yeah, the fiances aunt here is a complete jerk here. She knew full well that the OP had worked a very late and stressful job, so yeah... she's quite tired. Have a small touch of sympathy and understanding here. The aunt is an even bigger jerk by trying to say that the OP is trying to be a victim because of said job and anxiety... like, what is her deal here? I know i wouldnt want to be around this aunt or go to any other gatherings. That being said, the fiance is also a big jerk here. He didnt seem to defend the OP at all here and act like his family has points with stuff like that. Like, what?? He also knew about her job and the fact that they were traveling very early and on next to no sleep. It stands to reason that she would be tired, but to not defend her at all? Yeah, i would be having a couple very serious conversations here about all this, otherwise the relationship could get rocky here. Story 3: Yeah... the OP definitely messed up here and should really feel lucky that they still have a job after that. Story 4: Yea the mom here is a complete bag and drama queen. Also, she clearly took advantage of both the OP and the brother here, with the living arrangements and the construction work here. Good thing the brothers are on the same page about all of this and are quite civil, otherwise this could've turned into an outright brawl here. Story 5: Ugh, that is so annoying... and why would this dumb woman try and think the "parent" card is going to earn her any sympathy here? She really needs to get better control of her kids here. While i dont get sore at the kid with the backpack, i do hope that that dumb woman was given a bill to replace the tram door. Unlikely, but one can hope.
The only time I can recall ever having to say "no" to someone at work was when I had to stop a toddler from picking up a saw blade. Her dad had looked away for two seconds. Toddlers are quick.
Story 3: Toxic workplace. Get a better job. Consider a lawsuit for forcing you to take on additional responsibilities without extra pay as “punishment”. They are working you too hard, OP.
Story 3... It was correct that she got that warning! Objectively that is not okej to do so it was correct to give her that warning. That said: Go to the root of the problem! Try not to work that hours. Sleep at night and work during work hours! This is for everybody!
The first story: I spent many years in customer service with a large swath of that time in retail and the remainder of that time as a server. Believe me when I tell you, working with the public you get to see both the best and the worst humanity has to offer. The types of customers OP describes are not in any way out of the norm. She's way more lippy than I would have been back when I started serving but as I got older, I realized that I had to stand up for myself even if management didn't think it was a good idea to talk back to a customer. I sell it passive aggressiveness and sarcasm. It's one of my many talents. Nothing was more satisfying than putting an uppity, entitled customer in their place and seeing the look on their face after I returned the same disrespect that they had thrown at me right back at them.
In the last story, I think I need help understanding. I've never ridden in a tram, trolley, subway, or whatever you call them, so I fail to see how someone getting caught in a closing door is anyone's fault. So I honestly don't know if the lady should be apologizing for the trouble or if the conducter should be apologizing for endangering someone's child.
Somebody futzing around instead of getting out. The doors are on timers That said, the company that built it is asking to be sued - That thing had no pressure sensors! Like what the hell!
@@princessmarlena1359 I had to work on a Sunday with 2 other people, who called off, left to to work alone a table of 8 got up to leave left me a penny tip when I threw it back at them and told them they needed it more than me, the cook got mad at me and said she could run the store on her own I said fine and left.
Op in story 3 needs a new job and a vacation. They are completely taking advantage of them. Guarantee the money he's making isn't reflective of the work he puts in.
Break up , If my fiancée was to take his family side even though he knows I worked and had to do all this driving beat believe wedding is called off. Stick up for me and do not let anyone tarnish my reputation
@@llcoojoe20 yet here we are. Either way regardless her fiancée should have stuck up for her. It was a big deal, she was tired and now his family think she’s rude. He also didn’t help make it any better.
OP if your fiancé won’t stand up for you and he throws you under the bus plus he lets his aunt roll over him, then show him the door because he isn’t worth your time. Find yourself another man with a backbone,
Yeah he's absolutely right I mean I wouldn't take it for 1 minute I mean she doesn't have to even be there to take that kind of garbage but she did it to keep the peace
#1 She sounds like she was having the bad day before she got to work. #2 Why would she stay with an AH that values his families opinion over her truth? #3 I'm a retired aerospace engineer. I would have fired ol sleepy in a heartbeat. #4 His mom said one thing, and he and his brother worked it out with no conflict. Why does his mother's motive matter at that point?
OK there’s two stories I want to comment on story number for that one was confusing and I don’t understand why the brother moved if it was a greater pond that he could live there after everyone else moved. And story number five or the final story I was expecting like something OK breaking a train door that’s pretty bad. But I was expecting something worse. I don’t understand how that makes the mother and titled it doesn’t sound like the kid did it on purpose breaking the door with his bag or their bag, I should say. It sounds like it was just an accident, so I don’t see how that makes the mother entitled. and last thing I want to print out about that story what was the mother supposed to do in that moment? It’s not like she could fix the door. And if I accidentally broke something yes I would offered to pay to fix it if I had the money. But I would not give it to the conductor themselves. They’re not the one paying to fix it so I would send it to the higher ups, the paid to fix it.

It’s why I broke up with one former fiancé. He didn’t back me up then, I knew things wouldn’t improve from there so I called it off.
