A quick note since we did not mention it in this video: Yes, cross contamination is possible at these places but in our opinion, since no additional animals are being harmed by cross contamination, it does not make the food any less vegan. Of course it is not preferred that our food is cooked on surfaces where animal products are cooked, but that is just the risk you take when you visit a nonvegan restaurant. Since these places are not 100% vegan, we cannot guarantee if there is or is not cross contamination. If you are sensitive to animal foods/cross contamination, you should definitely avoid these places or do more research where you can. If you prefer not to eat food that has the possibility of cross contamination, then good for you! It is all personal preference. It is just not something that we stress out about, especially because we are here to show people that you can eat vegan almost anywhere and we don’t want to overcomplicate things when we don’t have to :)
I agree with you about cross contamination! It’s not an allergy for me, it’s a choice and I don’t feel like it compromises my value in general. I got a veggie patty (vegan version) at our subway here in Arizona yesterday and when I ordered it, the guy was nice enough to ask if I wanted him to change gloves since the last sandwich he had made. As you mentioned in your video, it’s so nice when servers actually care!
I told my husband the impossible burger is now completely vegan at Cheesecake Factory and he wants to go right now 😂 love when you guys make these videos !!
Evelyns favorite pasta is vegan if you hold the Parmesan and toss in olive oil instead of butter. It’s AMAZING. Also why the heck is there no vegan cheesecake options 🤨
I haven't even finished the video but I just had to stop and say I love it when you both say you're sorry if you ever interrupt the other. It's such a small thing but it's so lovely to see a mutual respect for one another, and makes for much more enjoyable viewing too!
I’m trying to slowly go vegan, I currently just went vegetarian and hope to be completely vegan by the end of the year! I found your videos and find them very interesting and fun! Can’t wait for more to come!
Madison Bruton yay ! The best video you could watch to change your life is called “The Best Speech You Will Ever Hear” by Gary Yourovsky, I hope you check it out. Absolutely life changing for the better 🥰
It's great that you're going vegan. I gradually gave up dairy, eggs and other animal foods. I found giving up meat, poultry and fish was easy. I managed to give up the eggs straight away but struggled with dairy products(it took about 2 months to lose the desire for dairy) but now I no longer have the desire to consume animal products and feel healthy. I went vegan in 2017.
Another thing w/ cheesecake factory is that you can put cauliflower in place of chicken/shrimp in some dishes (i.e. the pineapple chicken and shrimp, you can replace both w/ cauliflower, the orange chicken you can replace w/ cauliflower, the spicy cashew chicken, you can replace w/ cauliflower). And there are a few new menu items including impossible meat! The impossible taco salad is realllllly good (just get it w/o the cheese and ask your server for recommendations on dressings to put on it; modifications should be able to be made within the next couple of weeks, because the cooks really have to learn the new recipes and what not). There is also an impossible bolognese, which is vegetarian, but can be modified vegan with a different kind of sauce (I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can ask for the sauce to be made w/ olive oil instead of butter? Don't quote me on that, your server would definitely be able to help you there). And you can put the impossible patty and vegan cheese on any of the burgers! Oh, and the veggie burger doesn't come vegan by default. You can get the vegan bun they use for the impossible burger, or wrap it in lettuce, and if you want cheese, you can put the vegan cheese on it, but definitely take the garlic aioli off! Hope this helps w/ any future visits :)
The P.F Chang's y'all went to was trash! I go often and the Buddhas Feast doesn't look like that. It looked weirdly watery? When I've gone not only does it have tons of tofu but the sauce is much more thicker similar to a stir fry sauce.
Sometimes it matters what time and day you go. That PF Chang's may be o.k., but they probably had the d-crew working at that time. As someone who used to go to PF Chang's once a week for years (I don't live near one anymore), about 80% of the time it would be great, and then 20% it would just suck. I would order the same menu items and they just were lackluster 20% of the time. So they probably should go back at a different day/time and see if it's better for them.
This series has helped me SO much when it comes to the anxiety I have about making adjustments when ordering food. I’m vegan+GF and I always feel like such an inconvenience, but using tips from you guys and just watching your confidence while ordering has totally changed the game for me! 🥰
I have been vegan my whole life. Not because my family was because I was born with a rare Gene that made me allergic to all foods but deathly allergic to animal fats and proteins. It is so great to see people your age doing this. If my kids were alive at have a 35 year old or a 15 year old. So it's like watching what would be my children. I'm very proud to see that people are putting this much effort into things to help other people do the same. And in many ways on jealous because life has taken a turn for me. Not because I'm vegan because another issue. Anyway thank you so much and I'm so glad that people are waking up in my lifetime! I wish things would have gone a little faster. Ps. I just saw a Dunkin Donuts video with Snoop Dogg being employee of the month. He was selling plant-based breakfast sandwiches! LOL they had the writing all in green plants.
Just because you are doing these videos I would write to corporate thanking them for having vegan options but talk to them about their quality control. Because if it's subpar and you're paying prices just like everybody else and maybe even more because it's vegan. Make sure that they know how they're serving something like two pieces of tofu cut up into little bits and the fact that it took so long. Be very polite which you guys are I don't have to tell you that. But it's important that corporate knows how a group of people that they're catering to or trying to cater to is treated decently. And that's not being treated decently when you're paying for it. It has always bothered me when the staff doesn't care whether you got what you needed or not. Or they patronize You by saying there it is would they be happy if they ordered something that had animal in it and there was two pieces? If the corporation doesn't know then they can't do a good job and provide a good experience so make sure to rate these places and tell them what you think the good parts and the bad parts I don't just complain I make sure that when somebody is gone out of their way to do good that I right about that or you can call in some situations. Thank you again
My family goes to melting pot for get togethers 1/2 times a year and though the foods nothing exceptional being able to sit down with them at such a niche place and be so catered to is awesome.
Hint: Not sure if, when you say that you're going to try and find a place to work you automatically mean a Starbucks or something similar, but you might also consider working at libraries if you haven't done so before. My writing partner and I used to meet at the library all the time and it was such a great place to focus and get work done.
I am not vegan BUT I love watching you guys LOL... you guys are so genuine and humble. My boyfriend and I cut all refined sugars artificial sweeteners including stevia and also hybridized wheat we use only einkorn flour for breads and sweets. I was looking for a DIY on vegetables broth/stalk and was hooked when I watched your vegetable stock video. Have been watching since this weekend. You guys are great and I love everything I'm learning watching you both.
U guys made me wanna go to cheese cake factory cant wait... as for melting pot I cant pay $45 for veggies and broth and I have eaten at PF Changs once and I hate to say it doesnt taste fresh to me just frozen dinner level and I know some ppl love PF Changs... Anyways love the video
You should do, when restrictions lift, over in Beaverton at the Oranco stop there is this small locally owned sushi place that is so amazing. They’ll make vegan tofu teriyaki, miso, and custom rolls. The owner is a true sweetheart.
I LOVE Vancouver! Their farmer's market is so awesome! I live in Yakima, WA and wish I lived in Vancouver. Plus, Portland is just over the bridge which makes my heart happy. I love your guys' channel!!
Hey just a heads up in case someone’s watching from the Midwest (like me) and have a melting pot . Check your locations website before going . My boyfriend and are are in Minnesota and we have a hugeeeee melting pot location but it doesn’t have a single vegan item on their menu and we’ve called many times :/ I don’t know if it’s just not in mn or other Midwest locations as well but I thought I’d say it unless someone else was confused 🤷♀️but dang I need to convince our melting pot to hop on board with the vegan menu because I NEED that cheese fondue in my life . My boyfriend and I actually made our own vegan Gouda cheese fondue for New Year’s Eve c:
Yes, definitely call before. I live in indiana and they do have a vegan menu at the location I went to, but they were out of the vegan cheese when I went :(
Thank you guys SOOO much for making these videos! I’m learning so much and am overjoyed with how many vegan options are available at popular restaurants
We don't have any of these restaurants in Vermont but we go on a lot of road trips so this is great info. Also just noticed that you guys almost have 90k subscribers. I've been watching you for years and it's great to see that you're getting the audience that you deserve!
I’ve never gotten that kind of service at P.F. Chang’s. You might have just had a bad one. I always order the Buddhas Feast with much better results. Of course, I prefer the stir fried over the steamed. And there was always enough tofu. Like I said, you must have gone to a bad one. My husband went to the Cheesecake Factory for our anniversary and I was sort or disappointed in the selection of vegan foods. I ended up with the Impossible Burger, which was very good but I could get that at Burger King.
I have been to so many different restaurants all over the US that made me feel as though I was inconveniencing THEM when ordering vegan. Not so much in California, but definitely in AZ and IN. But then again, some of my family members are like that too. Thank you for doing this review.
That PF Chang's suuuuucked. That Buddhas feast did not look right. I've gotten it a couple of times and it has a thick stir fry sauce that coats the veggies nicely and more tofu. Although, my husband and I usually get the Ma po tofu and I have to say, the consistency at pf Chang's is pretty bad. Sometimes the sauce is thickened nicely, sometimes its more watery, and the portions are different.
I will be so happy when the area that I live in catches up. We, just yesterday got the beyond burger and sausage at Hardee's, but you can't have the buns or biscuits or anything. We have burger king, of course, and 2 burrito places that have tofu. With the other places here I'm limited to a salad with no cheese, bacon, eggs, dressing...and a plain potato. I usually just pack a container with my own butter, cheese, dressing...etc it just isn't worth the money in my opinion if I have to bring my own stuff from home. At the main restaurant here a salad alone is like $9 but a big plate of iceberg lettuce with some tomato, cucumber, and onion for $9? Idk, maybe I'm being too picky?
Thank you so much for all your research that you do. I know you enjoy it and I would love to be able to do what you're doing ,but you both are much appreciated. It gets hard sometimes to cook day in and day out even when you love to cook but it's really nice to know that I have choices out there and I can go out to eat once in a while. Love you both. God bless. 😊
Great video!! And yeah from my memories of P.F. Chang’s it was always a wait on the food; however never had a server look through my food. Sorry that was such a bizarre experience but glad to know there are vegan options out there.
Love this! How about a best of new vegan products of 2021 video next? Your favorites and dislikes so far. I haven’t seen too many new vegan products but it’s always nice to see before the year closes 🥰
I've been really disappointed with PF Chang's since I've been vegan too. I had the Thai harvest curry, and it was mediocre. Never tried the vegan lettuce wraps, but I remember their lettuce wraps being overly salty when I got them with chicken in the past. I've never been to Cheesecake Factory ever, but now I'm curious to try it, even though I'm not too interested in processed vegan meat or cheese. I appreciate you checking these places out, because I do eat out with my adult son who is not vegan, and it can be challenging to find places where we can both get food we like.
I love these videos. Thanks so much for doing the legwork so we don’t have to! Maybe you could try red lobster? I feel like there won’t be many options, but I haven’t checked it out!
You guys are so mellow and relaxed and groovy so if people act weird to you that’s on them totally. I love your reviews. So excited for Cheesecake Factory and thrilled about Melting Pot. I look forward to your videos and posts on Instagram- great work! Also made the Big Mac fries which are bomb!
This was an eye opening video. I never would have suspected these places - especially the Melting Pot! - would have so many vegan options. Thanks for doing the detective work for us!
I got the Buddha’s Feast recently and was extremely disappointed too. I’ve had frozen meals that were better. I think it probably tastes good to people who don’t do a lot of home cooking and are constantly eating out. Just needed a lot more flavor in my opinion.
It would be great to have more people with you so you could try more things. Thank you for the video, it really helps those of us that try to go out every once in awhile. ❤
Now I’m going to need to convince my family to go to Cheesecake Factory to try the different options, that’s so awesome. I definitely agree with your assessment of the Melting Pot. The experience is fun but the cost is not worth the amount you get.
I’m not vegan but I love these videos this one expecially. I would love To see a vegan cheesecake be added to the Cheesecake Factory’s menu as well as a gluten free one.
stop melting pot was my absolute favorite, every birthday, every friends birthday, every special event.... I was so devastated thinking I would never go back. HOW DID I NOT KNOW
They are absolutely not supposed to dig through your food with your spoon! I am in the food industry. He obviously did it to be obnoxious. I would be fired if I did that.
Fun video! We loved our Cheesecake Factory visit too. The waitress was so happy we ordered the Impossible Burger she was really proud to be serving it 😁 Everytime we've ordered the buddha's feast we're disappointed. That's not our favorite place. We won't go back to PF Chang's 😞
yay, i suggested PF Changs, so glad you went..wish it would have been a better experience for you, everyone else that has ever went, seemed to have a good experience....I need to go to the melting pot asap!
Would you make your own version of the lettuce wraps, please? So the one of us who can't go to the restaurant can have something similar at home, they looked really good!
Thanks for sharing! I am shocked about the Cheesecake Factory and the melting pot! Wow! I’ll have to look up if this is at all locations as I live in Atlanta
Love this series! I never thought I could go to the melting pot and I’m so excited there are vegan lettuce wraps bc they were my favorite before I was vegan:)
I can just imagine the waiter digging through your food lol.😂 The Cheesecake Factory actually looked really good! I was impressed. For a future video you guys should go to True Good Kitchen it’s so good!
Thank you both ! The melting pot looked interesting I've never seen anything quite like that . :-> Also extra vegans present would let you try more food i think , even non vegans who would try the vegan food that would be a great idea for the future. I can't imagine someone digging through your food looking for Tofu any normal restaurant would have replace it with one with more Tofu , right ?
Thank you for showing the melting pot, I honestly didn't know it was a big chain, we have had one here in Cincinnati for a VERY long time and I thought it was a local thing before they started popping up everywhere. I never would have tried it tho, bc like you said I thought it was like all cheese. Now I will try, that looked great!!
Love this series for exactly the reasons you mentioned. I was definitely surprised that Cheesecake Factory and Melting Pot had vegan options. Regarding PF Chang’s, I’ve had the Ma Po and Buddha’s Feast and there was definitely more tofu in it than what you had. Hopefully, that was an anomaly.
Wow, The Melting Pot has come a long way since I went there 15 years ago (there were no vegan options). Funny to see the prices are still ridiculous (for what you're getting). You can go to a Chinese hot pot place for a similar experience, just no cheese coarse, but more veggies/mushrooms/tofu and leave stuffed for $25. Also, that P.F. Changs was weird! As far as chain restaurants go, they are usually pretty good.
I used to love PF Changs! I usually get mapo tofu, but the last time I got the buddha's feast and I wasn't impressed! There was plenty of tofu, but the sauce wasn't great.
TIP FOR P.F. CHANG’S: If you can’t handle spice very well, ask for the Thai Harvest Curry WITHOUT the fresno peppers...I accidentally ate one and it was way hotter than a jalapeño and it was awful.
After I had melting pot. I had to make the vegan cheese fondue. They told me they used FYH cheese. So I used a mix of FYH cheeses and a spiced lager to make mine at home
I get that curry dish and ask for it to be made less spicy. Love it! But I could eat the veg lettuce wraps all day every day if I lived close to one. Now to go try out Cheesecake Factory again and The Melting Pot! Thanks!
I'm not a vegan but I enjoy vegan food. I found with places like PF Chang's, I'd rather go get a few dishes from Thai Express (I live in Canada not sure if you have it there) But pretty much all of their dishes can be made vegan. They have curries, soups, noodles, fried rice, lots of veggies and tofu options, along with cauliflower fried rice if you wanna switch it up. Its also great if you're Gluten free like I am because the noodles are Rice noddles.
I get the Thai Lettuce Wrap at the Cheesecake Factory and sub out the chicken for the Korea cauliflower (minus the egg wash - some places have told me there is no egg wash, but I’ve heard there might be so I say it every time just in case) and it is SO GOOD! My favorite restaurant meal 😋 I crave it all the time haha!
And I was also super disappointed in PF Chang’s :/ I don’t think the Cheesecake Factory where I live has the all vegan impossible burger yet so I’d make sure to check!
being vegan rocks, the cheesecake factory was one of my favorite places before going vegan i’m so thrilled they have all these options wow i am going asap!!!
Thanks for this! I always assumed that those restaurants had no vegan options, especially the melting pot. I just usually stay away from chain restaurants but I see that they are finally getting a clue that veganism is here to stay and will only become more popular.
Now the Cheesecake Factory needs to come out with a VEGAN CHEESECAKE! LOL.
HECK YES! Oh my gosh, yes they do! 😋
Diana Hughes 𝐲𝐞𝐬!!!
Let's tell them on Instagram!
Diana Hughes right that would be yum
It would be awesome if it was gluten and soy free too!
A quick note since we did not mention it in this video:

I love how accessible you 2 make veganism.... truly sweet and simple

if only cheesecake factory would make vegan cheesecake to complete the meal🙌🏻
yesss! it's needed lol how can they be a cheesecake factory without a vegan cheesecake but have a vegan burger?!
ugh that would have been so good!!
@@Sweetsimplevegan I think we need to let them know.. they kinda need one 😂
@@KnowYourProduce I let mine know last year and they laughed. They said it would be nice, but they didn't think it would happen. 🙁
Also why the heck is there no vegan cheesecake options 🤨
mrspaisley1 you can also get it with marinara no basil oil and it’s delicious
I got that the other day and it was delicious.
Didn't the pesto have milk or cheese in it? Do you take it out?
Elsa Agðarsdotter didn’t have pesto that I remember, if it did I ordered it without. Just checked the online menu and it’s not listed as an ingredient
The way y’all look at each other is just 😮💨🤌🏼🤍

It's so crazy to me that Melting Pot was $45/person! I went to a similar place when i visited China and got all vegan food. It totalled to $6 USD!!!
BTW the oyster sauce at Chang’s is mushroom based and completely vegan. Not sure if they knew that.
And that service was garbage. smfh
The Cheesecake Factory has the best vegan salad so much protein and roasted and fresh veggies, it’s really amazing.
I’ve officially been vegan for one week! I’m so grateful for you guys because this is all so overwhelming and you make it seem less scary 🖤 Thanks 🙏

The Buddha’s feast is sad but the other tofu dish is SO Good! Also I would go just for the green beans. Always get the green beans!
The whole time, y'all had the "I could do this better at home" face on .

The things on the top of lettuce wrap/ cup is fried rice noodles .
I don't like eggplants...but PF Chang's eggplant entree is SO GOOD
Love PF Chang's veg lettuce wraps and the ma po tofu!
The Mapo tofu at PF Chang’s is my fave!! So tasty!
I work at P.F. Chang’s and the Buddha’s feasts you guys got was not suppose to look like that , it’s a really good dish when made right
Ramil Duran 😭😭
I’m not vegan but I love these videos this one expecially. I would love
To see a vegan cheesecake be added to the Cheesecake Factory’s menu as well as a gluten free one.
Macie Vernon I would love that and hopefully soy free!
Should be easy with a base of
Coconut or a nut base.
If they added vegan cheesecake I would be a customer for sure lol
Thank you for doing these - it is very helpful!!!
stop melting pot was my absolute favorite, every birthday, every friends birthday, every special event.... I was so devastated thinking I would never go back. HOW DID I NOT KNOW
They are absolutely not supposed to dig through your food with your spoon! I am in the food industry. He obviously did it to be obnoxious. I would be fired if I did that.
Yeah, I would have reported him for that.
Fun video! We loved our Cheesecake Factory visit too. The waitress was so happy we ordered the Impossible Burger she was really proud to be serving it 😁
Everytime we've ordered the buddha's feast we're disappointed. That's not our favorite place. We won't go back to PF Chang's 😞
the ma po tofu and chili green beans from pf changes are soooo good
This makes me want to go to The Melting Pot for the vegan options 😋
Thank you for this! I had no idea there are vegan options at those restaurants!! You guys are adorable!!
yay, i suggested PF Changs, so glad you went..wish it would have been a better experience for you, everyone else that has ever went, seemed to have a good experience....I need to go to the melting pot asap!
I never got the notification for this! Glad I found it. Love these videos 😍❣️
the fried tofu with broccoli is awesome at P.F Changs!!!!
Would you make your own version of the lettuce wraps, please? So the one of us who can't go to the restaurant can have something similar at home, they looked really good!
20:39 ❤️ that topping! They’re rice noodles which puff up when fried for like a nano-second. So good!
Thanks for sharing! I am shocked about the Cheesecake Factory and the melting pot! Wow! I’ll have to look up if this is at all locations as I live in Atlanta
I live in Atlanta as well. The best vegan brunch is at Herban Fix!
If you guys have a noodles and co or a zupas both of those have decent options.
you should try pf changs stir fried eggplant, it’s DELICIOUS AND FLAVORFUL!
The impossible patty was so sketchy cause of the thickness! Hahah I hate that feeling! You're right, it's usually a lot thinner.
Love this series! I never thought I could go to the melting pot and I’m so excited there are vegan lettuce wraps bc they were my favorite before I was vegan:)
I can just imagine the waiter digging through your food lol.😂
The Cheesecake Factory actually looked really good! I was impressed. For a future video you guys should go to True Good Kitchen it’s so good!
Thank you both ! The melting pot looked interesting I've never seen anything quite like that . :->
Also extra vegans present would let you try more food i think , even non vegans who would try the vegan food that would be a great idea for the future.
I can't imagine someone digging through your food looking for Tofu any normal restaurant would have replace it with one with more Tofu , right ?
PfChang’s did the ginger chicken and broccoli vegan for me and it was good. There was lots of tofu in it.
A vegan cheese fondue?!!! Swoon! I've never been to a Melting Pot, but now I want to go.
You could also ask for olive oil and balsamic vinegar for the sourdough bread
I used to bartender at The Cheesecake Factory! Omg the memories !!
Can’t wait to return to Cheesecake Factory thanks for showing options!!
I had no idea about the vegan melting pot menu! That was my all time favorite restaurant before going vegan. I’m so excited!!!
I always get evelyns favorite pasta at Cheesecake Factory and its sooooo good. I also sub olive oil for the butter in the sauce
Did they take the dairy out of the pesto?
Woah, The Melting Pot has a vegan fondue? I wish I had known about that last time I was there.
Evelyn’s favorite pasta is also delicious at Cheesecake Factory and can easily be made vegan
I used to love PF Changs! I usually get mapo tofu, but the last time I got the buddha's feast and I wasn't impressed! There was plenty of tofu, but the sauce wasn't great.
I would definitely love to go the Melting Pot, that seemed like a fun experience. Never been there.
TIP FOR P.F. CHANG’S:
If you can’t handle spice very well, ask for the Thai Harvest Curry WITHOUT the fresno peppers...I accidentally ate one and it was way hotter than a jalapeño and it was awful.
Note to self: Don’t watch these kind of videos when you’re hungry! 😩😩😩
Thanks!
Love these videos! Really helpful to see what options exist
The veggie burger is honestly so good! I tried it before they released the impossible burger
At the Cheesecake Factory *
The Cheesecake Factory has their on line all the foods gluten free etc. i always look at every restaurant menu on line before I go!
Loving these food videos! Although I'm not 100% vegan, it's really great to know that there are vegan options at these popular restaurants.
And I was also super disappointed in PF Chang’s :/
I don’t think the Cheesecake Factory where I live has the all vegan impossible burger yet so I’d make sure to check!
being vegan rocks, the cheesecake factory was one of my favorite places before going vegan i’m so thrilled they have all these options wow i am going asap!!!
an apple dipped in hot cheese? whaaat lol
I've never been to the melting pot, I wish the location by me was still open! Looks really good!!
Thanks for this! I always assumed that those restaurants had no vegan options, especially the melting pot. I just usually stay away from chain restaurants but I see that they are finally getting a clue that veganism is here to stay and will only become more popular.
I think Chris you mean MaPo tofu at PF Changs.. it’s really good! 😀
Agreed!
I also HATE the Buddha’s feast!! I tried that red curry for the first time over Christmas Eve and i loved it.
I love this video!! Love the honesty and the glimpses into how it would be to eat vegan at those places
