I've been enjoying Jour 21 by Majouri. It's a delicious woody amber. I discovered this Syrian French brand at the beautyworld Middle East Show Dubai in October 2023.
Sampled cedre figalia recently and ordered a full bottle! It’s such a lovely smell. Not crazy about the opening. It’s very green to me. Smells a bit leafy mixed with unripened/ green fruit, but after 5-10min it dries down to a beautiful sweet and lactonic fig scent. It’s not very strong so have to spray a little more for my liking but it did last around 6hrs but by hour 6 it was very faint.
Great review on woody fragrances . Boss Bottled elixir has nice woody notes particularly “ cedar “ which Im very familiar with as there’s a cedar mill down the road from me .

Can't wait to try some of these. Also, I'm not sure you if you've tried it, but I recommend trying Eidesis by Aesop, it's super creamy and woody, the the pepper makes it a bit different also.
Ha. Just by coincidence I'm test wearing Ormande Jayne Evernia right now. Nice scent profile, much like Ormande Man. Skin scent and good as an "Office scent" though. I just got a full bottle of what is known as "the first and last word in Woody fragrances": Diptyque Tam Dao.
I used to wear woody fragrances in the 90’s such as Estée Lauder - Knowing for the autumn season. They were more potent in strength and more oakmoss in it. Now the fragrances like Paloma Picasso and Burberry Touch for women smelled lighter and airy or fruitier. I have not tried the latest formulation of Estée Lauder’s Knowing fragrance. Maybe I should give it a try.
I’d definitely enjoy a video featuring some of the most unique incense scents. I began enjoying perfume through comme des garçons incense series, in particular Kyoto and Avignon. Is there anything current that might scratch the itch for those?
I enjoy Agar Musk from Ramon Monegal but it’s a bit too masculine for me to wear often. I love the woody note in Valaya as well as Missing Person. Those are fresh, feminine fragrances with a supporting woody accent.
Very interesting! Speaking of woody scents, I blind bought a sample of Scheherazade by Bortnikoff recently and I must say it's one of the most intriguing fragrances that I have ever tried. Not in the worst way but not the best either. Have you experienced this one? Also, what is the story on oakmoss?
Sebastian try Vanilla Era by BoySmells. Its a woody vanilla with iso e super. You may like it, just a suggestion from one fragrance enthusiasts to another. 😊
The one-dimensionality of CdG Wonderwood made me cautious about any fragrance hyped as "woody." What I got from Wonderwood was "cedar closet," which was pleasant for maybe ten minutes but soon enough I felt like I was asphyxiating inside a cedar closet. There was absolutely nothing else going on, no levels, no development, just intense "cedar closet" all day long. I finally gave it away.
I'm surprised Dior Homme 2020 didn't make the list. Zara released a Woody collection last year and WO/01 SOMEWOODY is a real nice musky, wood offering.
@@JT-rx1eo I also have Ebony Wood. Zara released alot of real good ones in the last few years. SomeWoody WO/01 lasted the entire 2nd half of the day for me yesterday. This video persuaded me to apply it. Others were Sand Desert at Sunset, Nocturnal Life, Magnificent Black, Bohemian Oud, Amber Fusion, and the current Vibrant Leather Elixir flankers to name a few.
I recently found the new Il Était un Bois from L'Artisan Parfumeur at Neiman Marcus and was blown away. Beautiful woody with a touch of buckwheat that gives it a nutty accord. I had to snap up a bottle. Check it out!
Even Parfums Essential is reformulating?? I guess I assumed only older brands do that, but sign of the times and what's available and cost, right? Too bad!

Evernia is one of my favorites from Ormonde Jayne. Thank you for the introduction to this house. I have several of their fragrances.
Bois Imperial is one of my favorites. I get so many compliments when I wear it. I’m going to have to get my nose on Cedre Figalia!
Designer-wise, worth mentioning Dior Homme Intense. Sure the iris and smoothness are the main things, but there's also a wonderful cedar background.

I agree with incident diplomatique!!it's really a smoked vetiver.... have you tried Duro? they are very very similar maybe Duro is a bit more leathery

Bois imperial has been reformulated to death, they diluted the juice. Luckily i have old formulation and it is masterpiece
