Great review Ash! Never heard of this house before. The only other fragrance that mentions a blood accord is Zoologist T. Rex which comes from the rose oxide. This sounds a lot similar reaction I had to T. Rex, you either appreciate it and sniff it or wear it and stand out. I’m with the latter and I love the reaction I get from people when I wear T. rex. I would love to own a bottle or even just a sample!
Hey Raza, Thanks for watching and for your interest, and welcome! With Bloodflower I was aiming for something romantically dramatic, but not using the same old same old boring accords, and I wished for it to be "dark" conceptually. I wouldn't be lying if I said I was aiming for the style of Suspiria by David Lynch, the flair of The Hunger with David Bowie, and the poise of Interview with the Vampire. Alexandra (the nose) and myself worked on this, feeling around in the proverbial "dark" for about two and half years before settling on this formula, which is now my top seller among my Potions Fatales range (each inspired by an infamous poison flower and each crafted with a separate nose), to my surprise, as we inititally felt it might be TOO dark.
Btw with everything I do, as much as I am aiming for NEW and unique directions, my formulas will ALWAYS be flattering; i.e. I'd never do something just to gross someone out for example lol! I wanted to treat this blood accord with all the respect it deserved, as something that is so VITAL to each of our very beings. Instead of going for the gross-out factor, which I also think is juvenile and gimmicky : )

@@parfums_quartana I love Suspiria (the classic not the remake) and Interview with Vampire all time favourite and who doesn’t love Bowie! I can’t wait to get my nose on this fragrance. I’m always looking for something unique and as Ash says “takes some cojones to wear”. Such as the house of Beaufort. Really dark and dusty with Interview of the Vampire vibes.

Conceptually I realize it can be off-putting, but it's really remarkable! Consider our discovery set of all nine potions fatales, trust me they are all surprisingly beautiful and multi-dimensional. This one was particularly challenging subject matter, but Alexandra really nailed it. Also, our discovery sets are completely reimbursable toward a full size : )

I swear I was looking up fragrances with a blood orange note on Fragrantica the other day, and when I was typing it in, I saw that blood was a note. I was interested, so I checked out the three fragrances listed, and this was one of them. Crazy coincidence

I’m not gonna lie, I would probably wash it off if I tried it😂, I can’t stand metallic notes most of the time. In PDM Pegasus it’s bearable, but other than that I can’t do it.

I can assure you, some DO indeed have that reaction, lol, but Alexandra and I handled this accord with the delicate love it requires and as such, the composition is absolutely elegant, think more Lestat than TrueBlood, and not at all Hot Topic (mall goth) lol! We were really aiming to create a darkly romantic scent, as there are not SO many that are unapologetically GOTHIC like this one is, but it's certainly worth at least getting a discovery vial for (which is actually refundable toward any full size of the poison floral collection I did called Les Potions Fatales on our site www.six-scents.com). Who knows, you may love as so many have!

If it's not obvious, the swirls, besides being a psychedelic reference, are supposed to be the hallucinations one gets after getting poisoned by that particular poison, which surround a secure metal box, which surround a blue amethyst inspired vessel which protects the poison. sorry that was long winded lol
