Northeast Corridor - Summer of 2007

I've begun converting my old Hi-8 film tapes to digital files, which means some "new" uploads of footage from 2006, 2007 and 2008. Very few of the shots are level, and most have jerky camera movements. However, these were my first years of using a camcorder to film trains and as with anything, there was a learning curve. I hope you'll enjoy nonetheless. This video contains Amtrak and New Jersey Transit action at Hamilton, New Jersey (with a few brief clips from a ride aboard an Arrow III trainset to New York City).

AH the days of ALP44, AEM-7, tons of Arrow iii, comet 4's and 5's cab cars in service, GP40 moving njt equipment, and HHP-8 with old amtrak baggage and Dinning cars. Good video Kyle. Those were good old days.
Same I totally remember these good days
I miss the ALP-44s. And sadly none are likely to be preserved. Not even the one from SEPTA.
EDIT: NJ Transit, THANK YOU!
yeah me too.
Same
The ALP-44s are sitting in some Forest coupled together being vandalize or weathered.
Believe it or not, a transit one was saved!
Miss those Stemmann pantographs on the Arrow III's.. They lost a lot of luster when they replaced them.
Really enjoy watching older footage like this! Thanks for sharing!
I love the vid brings back many memories
The coolest thing from my point of view is that plenty of arrow units were caught throughout the video. As far as I can speculate, NJ Transit probably started phasing them out over the past couple of years. I think so because I haven't seen much of them at all in that time frame.
Thank you so much for watching! I certainly miss when Arrows were plentiful. Now I find myself going out of my way to try to catch them when I know they'll be operating because there's so few, at least on the line from New York to Trenton. Thank you again for watching!
@TrainiacProductions If I'm correct, when I first rode the train as a little boy with my grandfather traveling from Linden to Perth Amboy to get hotdogs... the arrow unit was my introduction to train riding.
These were some jolly ol' times. I wish I got to railfan at that time.
I remember these days when NJ Transit had a mashup set/consists meaning that they had a lot of Comet V trailers, Comet III’s, Comet IV cab cars on some ends of the train, and more.
Awesome footage here! I feel like before the ACS-64 came here, the Amfleets sounded different.
Nice Video
Thank you! 😁
Nice video :)
I was born around the time these trains were caught: July of 2007
E60s no longer existed unfortunately
Alp44s and tossed comet salads
