Wow, this was a big video tutorial! I know a lot of you purchased this piece, so I thought a video lesson might be helpful. Hope you enjoy working on these elements with me. Did you learn anything new? Any questions? You and your teacher may do things a little different, that's okay. It's all about figuring out what works for you so the music can flow with ease and artistry.
Here are timestamps to the six elements that I covered in the video:
    1. Placing four fingers as a group 1:48
    2. Left hand 1-5-8-9-10 pattern 7:28
    3. How to link overlapping brackets in the right hand 8:33
    4. Playing harmonics in the left hand 13:15
    5. Practice coordinating hands together 17:35
    6. Changing levers while playing 19:30
Here's a link to the performance video: ruclips.net/video/-05hvBxzVNs/видео.html

This tutorial has been so helpful, Anne! I have been living with this piece for quite a while now (and I still enjoy it) I especially appreciated your detailed and excellent explanation given to harmonics. The doorbell illustration is brilliant! I also liked the mention of a graceful finish through rotating and lifting outward the left hand and forearm My arm and shoulder positions still feel a bit awkward, and I am able to create good tone only some of the time but I continue to work at it. Thanks also for the discussion of how to approach the lever change. I really enjoyed your careful demonstration of the sequence of movements! Thanks so much for your kind generosity, giving the time and effort to post this video!

Thank you Anne, you have a wonderful way of slowly without pressure, teaching these skills we all need to learn at some point in our mastery of Harp playing, I have learned alot from this song in particular, I am still working on playing fluidly and enjoying it very much, its very satisfying to learn new songs to share , thank you for your time and talents.

This was a fantastic lesson, Anne - really helped me in several ways. Even though I’ve been playing the piece, I needed some remedial work on the LH 1-5-8-9-10 pattern. I also achieved more finesse by slowly adding the overlapping bracket RH pattern. Your wonderful step-by-step breakdown of the harmonics really helped, too. Thank you very much!

Thank you so much Anne this is a really good video lesson and I enjoyed it very much. First I tried to learn it for my own. And today I started your lesson. I learned to place all fingers im the left and right hand in a group which made it much easier. And to leave non used fingers not into the palm, but near the playing second finger. And at the moment I learn flageolett wich makes me problems. You gave a really good explanation with pressing a door bell. I now think before placing about pressimg the bell. Thank you so much. I woul prefer further online lessons if this will be possible. Greetings from Germany!

Dear Anne this is a really beautiful piece, thank you. My practise has now got to the last few measures, and my query is about the significance of the two little 2's in the final measure (no 40)? I am trying to analyse the music more closely before I start to practise, your mini video covering the fingering for measure 28 was a revelation, and I am therefore keen to learn more about measure 40.
Many thanks, and please go on composing music with mini tutorials
    Fiona

Hi Fiona, when I have fingering above the notes it's for RH and fingering below is for LH. In the video you'll see that both hands reach up at m.40. RH 2 plays G and LH 2 plays E. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

Great lessons! I like the use of a x in fingering to indicate the crossing under. It's the first time I see it. It's your invention? I think I start to use it on my scores

    • @annecrosbygaudetmusic
      @annecrosbygaudetmusic  4 года назад +1

I like using the x for crossovers and crossunders as well (especially for earlier levels). Not my invention though, the first time I saw it was in Pamela Bruner's books.
