Ma'am how can it be x/-x in ques 9 of ex 5.1, since mod function never gives negative value? Shouldn't it be -x/x (since we are taking x < 0 so it will be -x in numerator and +x in denominator due to mod function)
I had the same doubt It is -x since for example if you want to take mod of -3, then in order to make it +3, you need to do -(-3). So the function becomes -x. For more clarity, see the Byjyus definition of a modulus function; that helped me too!

Ma'am how can it be x/-x in ques 9 of ex 5.1, since mod function never gives negative value? Shouldn't it be -x/x (since we are taking x < 0 so it will be -x in numerator and +x in denominator due to mod function)

It is -x since for example if you want to take mod of -3, then in order to make it +3, you need to do -(-3). So the function becomes -x. For more clarity, see the Byjyus definition of a modulus function; that helped me too!

ma'am your way of teaching is very good but please don't assume that every student have science stream, There are some of those who have commerce with maths so we can't understand some topic of science(velocity)
